If the season were just the last 6 games, the White Sox would be tied for first.
If the season were just the last 6 games, the White Sox would be tied for first.
If it weren't for the White Sox, the Mariners would be in the playoffs.
Dammit, if the Giants had won today by one run, they would have been .500 with a run differential of zero.
Say what now?
That was an insane game for the 8th and 9th. Playoff baseball!
Great! Now let Atlanta win the second one for the funniest outcome.
I told a friend at work that today might look like the last day of the world cup group stage when each team knows they will advance with a draw.
Dude was my favorite player when I was growing up. It didn't hurt that he helped bring the Phillies their first World Series win (after only 97 years trying).
This was from the clinching game:
This was a few years later:
Lot of people felt the same. Was hoping he might still get in the Hall while alive. I don't think there's any point now
"This sports news segment on why Pete Rose doesn't belong in the Hall of Fame is brought to you by Fan Duel."
I do agree that this looks insanely absurd with every sports league, including the MLB trying to shove DraftKings down our throats, but The Baseball Hall of Fame is independent from Major League Baseball.
The Baseball Hall of Fame only keeps him out because he's been declared "permanently ineligible" by MLB, not technically because of the gambling.
MLB declared him ineligible because of the gambling.
There's no guarantee that the HoF would have accepted him if "permanently" turned out to be less than permanent, though.
It's hard to tell the history of the sport without guys like Rose, Bonds, Clemens, etc. Because of that, those guys should all be part of the HoF museum, but I don't care if they ever get a plaque.
Mike King with 10 Ks, 0 walks, 0 runs. Only the 5th such postseason performance ever.
Wow.

Wow.
12Ks in total, damn. Soto was probably worth it, but I think that trade was the biggest loss for the Yankees.
I'll bang a trash can for them
Goodnight Houston.
Yay when cheaters lose.
Baltimore ain't gonna go out sad, are they?
Come on they can't lose 10 in a row.
Baltimore ain't gonna go out sad, are they?
Have they tried scoring a run?
Let’s see what happens if Atlanta tries that.
I guess what was really holding the Padres back all this time was Bob Melvin.
