Jim Carrey absolutely made that second movie what it was.
The first was also fun. Lots of cool easter eggs and references for fans. I wasn't a Sega kid growing up, but even I caught a good number of them, and enjoyed both movies. I'll be watching #3 for sure when it hits streaming.
Carrey grooving to Terry Jacks' Evil Grows went way harder than it needed too. Like, it was one of those scenes that should have been in a completely different, and way better, movie.

The advertising for this is so weird. It's being split into two movies, which isn't being disclosed in the advertising at all, with the first movie ending at Defying Gravity. So, the trailers just keep showing the end of the movie over and over again.
Then there are the versions of the first trailer where they are trying to pretend that it's not a musical.
Are we witnessing the beginning of the Sega Cinematic Universe? If so, I'm there for it. <3 my Dreamcast.

I have loved every movie they've been involved in, writing, directing, or producing. EXCEPT "Something in the Dirt." That one didn't do much for me. This one looks awesome.
