Big weekend of football this weekend. Away to Peterhead in the first round of the league cups weird league thing. Don’t know if anything else is on?
4-0 win away from home with a goal from the guy signed two days ago. Can’t complain at that!
Edit make that 5-0 at the death. Almost makes me wish I had trekked up to the north east. Note I say almost it’s a long way and Peterhead literally has a fishing port a prison and a very high drug abuse rate.
Just wait until Will Ferrell and Ed O'Neill buy Peterhead FC and launch Welcome to Prison Peterhead.
Now there is a programme where everyone would be subtitled.
WTH did I just miss? Is someone hurt?
Guess it was just a tells 2. Announcers acting like things were crazy serious
Tense. Spain the better side, England most definitely not out of it.
Kane with three touches in the penalty area in the first half. Unfortunately two of the three were in England's penalty area.
Rodri off at the break - can't stand being marked out of the game by Phil Foden.
Bloody hell. Get an equaliser as soon as we start pushing forward and then start sitting back again. Cut it out England!!!
58 years of hurt goes on. But I will stand by Southgate being our best manager since Sir Alf Ramsey.
Time for him to move on though.
Edit: I should add that Spain were by far the best team this tournament and well deserved their win. Well played!
Very well deserved by Spain. Definitely the best team in tournament.
(But Germany can complain a bit about the hand foul by Cucurella.)
I don't get this England team. They only seem to play when they're losing. They could've built on the equalizer instead of falling into the same routine. At least the game would be more entertaining.
Can't really argue with Spain winning, well played.
4 Euro titles now puts them top over Germany. They have definitely transformed from team with great players that couldn't win to 4 trophies since 2008. Kinda scary since they did this one with some great young players also.

Not sure if Southgate is going anywhere until England really blow it aka go back to previous English form.
Not a fun place to be when you want the manager out but realistically the only way he's going the team needs to lose and maybe lose bad.
Well the FA have said they want him to stay regardless, but I think he’s done enough now. The vitriol in the pub I’m in is undeserved.
Lol Copa final delayed.
Copa América final start delayed 30 minutes after fans rush gates
Doesn't look like it's starting 30m late even.
What en embarrassment. Between this and the general condition of the fields, they've done a terrible job with this tournament.
FWIW, my understanding is the Conmebol is in charge of this, which does not surprise me at all, not FIFA or the US. At this point, nothing surprises me coming from Alejandro Dominguez's Conmebol.
The videos are completely f*cking comical. The finger-pointing after this is going to be truly historic.
We can still move the next world cup to Germany. There's still time. Thunderstorms are pretty cool.
Just looking at the videos from Miami just now. Genuinely some scary stuff with crushes at barriers. I grew up attending sport in the bad old days and we do not want to go back there. Ok I will admit the danger of crushes at Queens Park games was maybe not that great but sometimes you had to wait behind a few guys to get your pie.
What an unbelievable run for Argentina. Truly epic to win this one after Messi left the game with an injury. And the play for the winning goal was made by the three guys that subbed in together.

Now that you mention it both finals yesterday were won by subbed on strikers.
Colombia really needed to win in the first 90 minutes. No lack of trying on their part but the longer it went the deeper Argentina was off the bench.
Yep. On the other hand, most star footballers in latin america come from very humble backgrounds, are rarely educated above highschool? and from a very early age get to live inside a safety bubble that shields them from someone knocking a tooth out of them for acting like an ass. Argentinian society in general isn't racist per se, but in the lower economical classes there tends to be an uglier emphasis on making sure people don't confuse you for a foreigner, as it happens in most parts of the world.
For instance, a friend of mine, a brilliant philosofer, married an Irish guy and most of the time while they lived in Ireland people asked her about how much she charged for house cleaning, just because of the way she looked.

Hundwetter is my favorite new (to me) word of the year.

The assist was the prettiest thing about the whole play. My goodness what a touch.
