Taxinaut - Space Cab Simulator

I figured it was time to take this to a separate thread for my most anticipated game. This is a space taxi driving game in a massive open world (and I mean massive, thousands of populated systems) and it's just AMAZING.

I usually hold off playing early access games but I can't stop playing this one. It even runs on my potato of a laptop. So please do check it out.

Edit: Forgot about the manual! http://www.mosgrom.net/taxinaut/manu...

OMG this game has WASD controls y'all. I had no idea. Might make it easier for some of y'all.

Oh cool! A sequel to Space Taxi!

That's the first thing that came to mind. If someone makes a space taxi sequel I'm there day one!

Oh wow nice! I never had a Commodore so I never played it. For the curious:

The dev just released a video of tips for new players.

Friends, I was asked to stream the game to give insight into how it plays, so I did so this morning and I hope it's okay if I share it.

Picked this up a few days ago but haven't had a chance to really play beyond delivering my first fare and getting pretty dinged up in the process. My own fault for trying to play while doing a tech support call. The 'one-handed' interface is neat.

Yeah it takes practice, when I first started I hit everything. Remember to pause liberally to get the lay of things and plan your next move. Eventually you'll hit things far less frequently.

It's on my wishlist.

Yay thank you!

So the dev added a "laid-back" version of the starting planet, Yamo, to hopefully make the game more accessible to newer players. I hope this helps with anyone having issues with the game.

I don't know what 'laid-back' does, but I'm slowly finding the rhythm of this. Great game to play while listening to an audiobook.

Glad to hear it!

Friends, the game got a pretty big patch today that should make progression smoother. It looks great!

Hey y'all, Taxinaut has hit a major milestone by hitting 0.9. Tons of new features, such as gamepad support, and bug fixes. I've been spending a lot of time with the game lately, and it's just consistently getting better.

gamepad support

Ooh, if this makes it Steam Deck playable I am 100% more likely to boot this up. My desktop playing time has been limited and sporadic lately.

I don't have a Deck so I can't confirm, but I have tried it with a gamepad and it works fine.

Friends, the developer of Taxinaut has begun making little quick tip videos, which is good because this game has a LOT going on, and I even learned a bunch of stuff from these thirty-plus hours in.
