I see!!!! Thanks for the info. I want to get better gear, specifically for my mage pawn. I am tired of that pink ugly dress. So i just need to patiently and randomly wait for coffers and stuff and get lucky with purifcation? Is there an "end" to BBI?
BBI has an "end", after you get down to the final boss twice. But it only ends in terms of story, it's designed so that once you work your way through it, you can just start over as you farm for unpurified Armor and Weapons and the materials needed to gold dragon forge them. The second time you go through, the gated shortcuts on island surface with Olra remain open (they lock again after the first time you defeat the boss). Access to BBI unlocks after you drive away the hydra attack on the Encampment near Cassardis, so it's very early in new game+. Some of the notice board quests in BBI don't show up until post-Dragon though. Beating the game and starting new game+ gives you a useful item that you can use to reload your save without having to choose quit without saving and then go through the main title screen first, which is very useful when trying to farm for certain items. Make a save right before opening a chest, if it's not the item you wanted (each chest has a pool of possible results that's picked from when it's opened), use the item, reload your save, open it again and hope for a better result. You can also use it to try to get the rare material drops from big monsters, but you'd have to save before you entered combat, then each reload you'd have to do the entire fight each time, so it's still a lot of work.
Getting lucky with purification requires a bit of planning. The way purification works is that the result of unpurified novelties are all items that don't have vocation requirements, but those of unpurified gear/armor/weapons will be usable by a class that has the color of the current vocation of you and your pawn. So if you're a mystic archer (blue and yellow), and your pawn is a warrior or soldier (red) your result can be any of the possible items in the pool for that tier and type. The way to try to manipulate this is to change your vocations to both be a single color right before purification. So for example, if you're both warrior/soldier (red), the result will be an item usable by either soldier (red), warrior (red), mystic knight (red/blue), or assassin (red/yellow). You cannot use the quick(er) reload item from above to change your results (mostly). If you get the common boots from a level 3 armor (level 3 has a common and a rare set for each color), you will always get common boots from that armor. What you can do though is get them for a different color. If you & your pawn are red/red, the boots will be from the common set of red boots. If you reload and change to blue/blue, the boots will be from the common blue set. Level 3 weapons are a bit easier as the level 3 weapon pool doesn't have common/rare versions of each type, just one item of each type that is unenchanted, but has the highest stats for that type of weapon in the game. If you get a greatsword when you're red/red, you can change to yellow/yellow and get a weapon for strider/ranger/mystic archer, or blue/blue and get one for mage/sorcerer/mystic knight.
Level 3 armor/weapons are rare though, only possible from a small number of certain chests (where the quick(er) reload item helps) or as rare drops from difficult enemies (BBI boss, Death, Dire Wyverns, Dire Drakes).
Thank you so very much for the explanation

Bittleblack Isle - The exploration continues
Our party has reached yet another milestone. We reached Spiritual Level of 63. Myself and my loyaL PAWN Wewi. Alongside our permanent Pawn from beyond the Rift "Roca" who has become an invaluable part of the team. Legends says that Roca served a master from a parallel dimension. Whispers and tales talk about Roca's original master "Gren", or at least that is what we have gathered from our conversations.
On this day, we reached a place called "The Black Abbey" where we had a fierce fight against a Wright and a Cyclops. For our good fortune, we emerged victorious. We are not faced with an enigma. We got do this door which we could not open, so we ventured elsewhere, only to find a deadlier place with what seemed to be some sort of "Fire Saurians". We fled and decided to devise a proper strategy.
Thus we summon the aid of fellow Arisens from beyond the rift and from parallel worlds to give us guidance.
And so, we patiently await.
Darkhaund the Arisen
The Black Abbey & The Rotunda of Dread are literal arenas, btw. You can continuously re-enter them and the enemies will be refreshed. There are 10 different possible enemy combinations. Also, if you have the dlc item Fiend Luring Incense in your inventory (one is sitting in your storage from the beginning of the game, and it never gets used up), one of 3 stronger groups will be there instead. Those you have to wait 4 days to respawn, but each set has their own respawn counter, so if you face group A, you can re-enter and have a 2 in 3 chance of getting group B or C (if you get group A again it'll just be empty).
I see!!! Thanks for the info! I need another void key to go further and I am stuff trying to figure out better gear for my main pawn mainly. I cannot be clear enough how amazing this game is.
I am happy and satisfied with what I have accomplished so far. I am NOT -by any means- targeting for a 100%. that is definitely out of the question. I want to get better gear and see the end of BBI, then go do the 20 wakestone thingy and be done? Is that a good idea?
Any comments?
If you're not planning to do new game+ at all, run through BBI twice to get its true ending, then do the 20 wakestone quest.

Thank you!1 I think that is what I will do. I really really have enjoyed this game, but NG+ is -at this point- not an option for me. I rather "finish" this game storywise and move onto my backlog. But let me fiest do what you suggest and i will take it from there

Bittleblack Isle - The exploration continues - The Dark Bishop
Our exploration of the Black Abbey continued. Our party encountered monsters tougher than we could have anticipated. My arrows seem to do little to no damage to the undead. I wonder if i need an upgrade. Or perhaps a change in strategy? Lucky for us 2 of my PAWNS are sorcerers and with they magics, they help dispatch the monsters. I have some dragon forged gear and still on some enemies my damage seems low.
We got to a place where we fought the Dark Bishop and his undead dragon! It was a fierce fight, but we emerged victorious! It was a cunning battle with amazing atmosphere! We decided to regroup since we now have access to the main back with Orla through a back door.
We shall press on!

You could get a pawn that has the Holy Affinity enchant for your bow. They can be hard to find. If only you knew someone with a pawn that could change the abilities for you....
Also, make use of those strength and magic boosting items/potions. They can greatly help with tougher enemies. If Fournival was found innocent in your game, he is a reliable source for them if you run out.

Thank you SO SO SO SO very much!

I cant access the Noble quarter because I get decimated!
Any hints or suggestions?
He meanders down from the noble quarter to the black cat merchant everyday. Rest til morning, then just hang out a few minutes for him to show up.
Thanks for the tip!!
I will do that tonight
Sad news for me. This year I've reached the point where most new games won't run on my laptop so no DD2 for me. I might fire up 1 again.

It appears that a lot of the wailing and gnashing of teeth over DD2 microtransactions is a pile of lies and nonsense from people who didn’t even bother playing the game for an hour or so.
Angry Internet Idiots strike again.
PS: For the record, I disagree with her notion that Ubisoft enshittified Valhalla to encourage microtransaction buying, but that’s a meme that just won’t go away. She mentioned the grind being one of the fun things about RE4, and I feel the same way about the grind in Assassin’s Creed. I get that people who don’t love the basic gameplay as I do might find paid shortcuts sus, though.
With all DUE respect, but I find her very shallow and she sells her looks -and on that end... i dont like it as wel hehe-
I once saw a video of her talking how she dated a "pathological liar and a bunch of nonsense" I immediately knew her "content" was not for me. I am by no means making a judge of her, but I would personally NEVER take her gaming advice as something I would do
I don't get that at all. Alanah Pearce is a game developer. She's been a writer for Santa Monica Studio for years, previously with Rooster Teeth, and before that I think at IGN. She has a podcast with other game developers. She never wears anything remotely revealing on stream (although the dress she wore recently presenting the 2023 awards at GDC raised a few eyebrows, I'm sure).
Not sure where you're getting the "sells her looks" thing. I've been watching her for about a year now, and she generally has good insights about game development and some of the off-the-wall gaming discussions that pop up online. Nothing but straight talk, and she's good about calling out her own hot takes and biases.
Not sure where you saw the video mentioning someone she dated, but in all the videos of hers that I've watched she pretty much never talks about her personal life. So I'm not sure where that's coming from. She's most definitely not a "fake gamer girl," which is the vibe I get from your message.
All that said, it is entirely possible that I've just never seen any videos where she acts like an airhead.
P. S. She recently posted a video to her personal channel talking about the GDC presentation experience, and I think it shows that she's the real deal and not pandering.
Like I said, it is a personal opinion. Nothing more.
The "sells her looks" thing doesn't come off well, darkhaund. "I am by no means making a judge of her" - Yes, you definitely are judging her. Along with your "slutty princess" comments earlier in this thread. I would take some time to re-examine how you perceive and interpret women's actions.
Point taken and thanks

I learned this lesson well from all the complaints that accompanied Fallout 76. So much hate for that game was based on outrage-bait videos made by "content creators" who never played the game.
I am sure ai will enjoy DD2 as much as I am loving the first
Quick question guys...
Yes this LATE in my game play I need to know the following:
1. Can pawns also use trinkets and scrolls etc as they use potions?
2. Can my main pawn get her gear dragon forged?
Thanks in advance
No and no.
There are potions that boost stats for the whole party.
Only items on the Arisen can become dragonforged.
TY for the answer!
So i need to become a sorcerer have that gear equipped on me be LUCKY it gets dragon forged and then give it to my main pawn ?
Yes. Each level of enhancement adds 10% chance to dragon forge on the item. That said, defeating Grigori has a 100% chance to dragon forge ALL items equipped by the player.
edit* You don't necessarily need to be a Sorcerer to equip that armor, you might be able to do it as a Magick Archer.
Magic Archer!!!! That is a good idea.
At this point I am (i think) far into BBI
I found a "spirit walking" and he is waiting for me at the center of an arena. There was even a little cut scene of this ghost.
Do I NEED/WANT to change to Magic Archer now?
I have 16 wake stones so I am waiting to finish BBI and then go back to Everfall
That is my plan
The chance of an item becoming dragonforged varies based on which dragon you fight. The main Red Dragon you already fought is 100%, but you can only kill him once per game, so you'd have to do new game+ to fight him again.
The basic drakes/wyrm/wyvern wandering the world have the lowest chances (depending on level of enhancement: 0%/2%/6%/18%).
The Ur-Dragon, whom you can only access via one of the everfall chambers (in new game+ there's a riftstone on the beach in Cassardis you can use to fight him over and over) has two rates, depending on whether you fight the online version or the offline version. The online version is 100% chance just like the Red Dragon, but you have to be the one to actually kill him which is incredibly hard and will take numerous times fighting him. The offline version is a lot easier and can be done in just one fight if your gear and tactics are good, but the chance of dragonforging a piece of gear is 0%/2%/10%/30%.
The dire drake/wyrm/wyvern found in BitterBlack Isle have better odds: 5%/15%/25%/40%. And Cursed Dragons from BBI are even better: 40%/55%/65%/75%. Plus Cursed Dragons can be lured with the rotten bait meat on certain maps, so they're probably the easiest way to dragonforge gear for your pawn (in terms of finding them at least, the fight itself won't be easy).
