GWJ AL - Week 5

Ok guys. Thanks for getting your games played promptly. Let's keep doing that.

Games are:

Anaheim (kingcohiba) @ Baltimore (ruthlessmuffin)
Chicago Sox (squirrelmonkey) @ Oakland (PsychoKillerZ)
Detroit (Warlock) @ Cleveland (SwampYankee)
Toronto (MrGreen) @ Minnesota (Romulox)

I should be able to figure it out, but if you guys could list who you pitched, what type of pitcher they are (Starter, Middle Relief, Setup, Closer) and how many innings they pitched, I'll reset the fatigue. The starter rotation will stay how it is, and I think I'll look into resetting the fatigue for MR/setup/closers every other game. So, for instance:

I pitched Mike Maroth (starter) for 7 innings, Urbina (setup) for 1 inning, and Troy Percival (closer) for 1 inning. The starter fatigue would stay how it is (3 games) but I would make a note of which setup/closer I used, and reset their fatigue not for this week, but for next week. Effectively, reducing their injury from 2 days to 1.

I think this should help make it more fair, since otherwise I could use my best setup guy for 2 innings and my best closer for 2 innings each game, knowing they're going to be reset and that I'll be able to use them for the same amount the next week.

Let me know what you think.

Here's another example of how my idea for the pitching fatigue reset would work.

Last week (game 4) Swampy pitched his starter and three more pitchers: Betancourt, Stanford, Riske.

The starter stays fatigued, and any other starters stay fatigued. These three pitchers are reset after week 5 is done, and are available to use in week 6 (instead of week 7, which is what the computer would have done).

Of course, if this will really cripple your play, I can just reset all of the non-starters every week, but I think this will make it more fair and fun.

The only issue I have with that Warlock, is if you use your closer for 3 outs in the 9th, I think that you should be able to use him again in the next game. More than 3 outs and he should need an extra game. My 2 cents. I realize that is work intensive for you so whatever you ultimately decide is fine.

Is the format I used for explaining pitcher use last game acceptable for you?

Also, when would you like to play our game? I'm EST

MrGreen, let me know what works for you to play this week. I'm pretty open a lot of the time, and my connection issues are finally resolved for the time being *huzzah!*

Psycho, give me a time for this week. Im free every night except Tuesday and I'd like to play between 8 and 10 EST (but I'm flexible).

I'm free tonight, and then tomorrow night frmo 5 to 7 and then again at 10. Tuesday, I'm free at around 9, and then I'm free Wednesday after 5.

And yeah, Swampy, the more I think about it, I realize the closers should probably have a different set of rules. It's rare, but at least on the Tigers, there are days where our closer plays and then plays the next day.

So, with your closer, if he pitches one inning or less, he'll be taken off the fatigue list. Middle relief and setup men will still follow the one game fatigue rule, starters their normal, game enforced fatigue.

Of course, you guys will have to tell me who you pitched, or I'll just leave everything like it is for your team.

Squirrelmonkey, let's try for 6:30pm PST Monday. Sound good?

Cool.

Well, it has been a while since I watched a lot of baseball. If it is rare, then don't do it. I thought it had been more common.

9:30 PM tonight sound OK, Warlock?

Sounds like a plan. Just don't let me forget to tape Deadwood...

Great game, Warlock. I'm going to see your two doubles down the lines and Crisps' choking at bat every time I close my eyes until I play my week 6 game!

You played well, and earned that win buddy!

Squirrelmonkey, I hate to do this, but can we postpone our game until 6:30pm PST wednesday? Pretty please?

No prob Psycho. Can you play tonight Swamp?

Hmmm. 7 and I'm still at work. I have Ghost Recon later. So, how about tomorrow?

Around 10?

Eastern?

Romuox, week nights after 10pm ET usually work for me. How 'bout tonight?

Tonight should work out fine. I get off of work at 10:30 EST... so probably just a little bit after that and I'll be online. Sound good?

That'll work!

And maybe you'll only lose by 16 runs this time!

(I know, you beat me, but seriously, that was a fluke.)

*Shows Warlock middle finger*
A fluke huh? Pfffffft. Remove the funny plays and I still win 1-0.

Unlike you, that f@ckin Muffin knows how to hit the ball. In fact, he knows it so well that it's not even funny. Pretty much all of his points were made on homeruns and I pitched just like I always do, except that the league's insanely fast pitching settings and lag don't mix too well but still, the f@cker will hit just about anything.

Oh, and anyway, f@ck you Warlock!

Swamp, 10pm EST tonight? Your call.

Psycho, can we do 10:30pm EST Wednesday?

Cant we say f*ck around here?! You know, a "sentence enhancer".

All I can say Squirrel is that I'll try to be there, and should be...

It's 9:49 CST, and I'm still at work... will hopefully be out of here soon. I'll hop on Live as soon as I get back MrGreen... sorry for any delay.

Great game Mr.Green! That was the most insane end to a game I've seen yet. I'm not even sure what happened. All I know is my two runners were like 2 feet apart from each other and the ball was slowly rolling somewhere in the outfield.

The Twins score their first win! Woo!!

I'll tell you what happened. I probably rolled a 20 pitching the ball to second base because it ended up in centerfield. That's what I hate about ESPN games, random sh*t you have no control on.

Anyway... great game Rom, damn that was intense, and fun too!

No manager can control errors, except by putting better fielders out there.

I hope we have our game soon, Green, before you start getting better.

2 games to go this week
