NFL 2023: The Week 2 thread

And lo the Chargers have Chargered.

And the Lions Lioned.

Jags would have given the Chiefs some grief if only receivers weren’t required to get their feet inbounds to make a catch.

Geno wanted the ball and went down and scored.

The Ravens offense is going to be scary when they get their timing sorted.

CMC barrels into the endzone, and the 49ers home crowd in SoFi Stadium roars.

I realize the Bears don't have a good team and the offensive line is bad, but, uh, Justin Fields is bad. It's endless schoolyard chaos that sometimes works, but he's just been so damn shaky and I don't think he'd know what pocket awareness was if he googled the term.

Yeah, that was one of the silliest pick-sixes I've ever seen.

There was a sequence in the late 3rd/early 4th quarter where Fields was strip-sacked and the Bucs recovered, but his ball was just moving forward so they kept the ball. Next play, he threw a pick on the sideline, but the DB's second foot was just on the line. A couple plays later, he fumbled again, and the Bears managed to recover. Most of Fields' passing yards were short passes that had some big YAC, because he just couldn't do anything.

The effective end of the game was when Bucs CB Christian Izien picked off Fields; Izien is the CB who tore the ball away from the Vikings' WR at the goal line near the end of the first half last week, so he's now had picks two games in a row, which is not a bad start for a UDFA rookie who managed to win the starting nickel corner job.

Atlanta keeps winning like they're trying to make sure Ridder is the starter next year.

Jake Moody DUNKS an easy 27-yard field goal, such a short kick that it was hardly worth his effort.

It's like when Dave entered the monolith over Jupiter.

Big props to Kevin Kugler for calling Deebo’s run an “end around” and NOT a “reverse”.

Heard that twice during college games yesterday. One was a fake reverse at least... but no, they didn't hand it off a 2nd time.

How did the Giants only lose 40-0 last week?

Has anybody heard Caleb Williams' dad's opinion of the Giants?

That would be amazing if they made that pick one year into the big Daniel Jones contract.

PURDY!

2 yard sneak with room to spare. Hahaha

How are the Rams even decent? Isn't there some crazy stat where the majority of the team is low draft picks and or picked up players.

The live eye check at the game today.

Lots of travelling Ravens fans.
Bengals D doesn't know how to contain Lamar. But who does?
Burrow was better but the the pick was an absolute gut punch + him and Chase are not clicking whatsoever.

Listen, sure, Baker is playing well in Tampa, but it's been against bad defenses, and I think it's logical to assume he implodes at some point and it's proven again why he's on team #4, and that Bucs fans shouldn't feel good about him being the QB of the team.

That being said . . . I think any fan anywhere would much rather have Baker right now than Daniel Jones on that contract.

Healthy Stafford is still good. Puka Nacua slid in the draft because he’s not fast, but he can play. Tutu Atwell suddenly decided to learn to play as soon as I give up on him in Dynasty league. They finally decided to stop wasting time trying to make Cam Akers a thing.

The Niners D should be causing them a lot more problems than they have been so far, though.

Dave's not here, man.

Cardinals so bad they can't even tank right.

MMD today:

Niners really needed that pick.

Moody from 57!

Jake Moody ROCKETS a 57-yard field goal to take the lead and claim the title of best kicker Los Angeles has ever seen.

Nah, their scam is to play well for most of the game, then yack it up.

DEEBO!

Do you just have a document with a list of words you came up with for "kicked" and you're just working your way down it as the season progresses?

I hope it's a long list.
