Not sure how the rotation is, but maybe the 49ers can play the Jets next year to kick Aaron's ass one more time. They certainly won't meet in the playoffs anymore

Well you're in luck, because the 49ers will indeed play against the AFC East in 2024, so they will face the Jets. And because it was a road game last time through the cycle, the game will be in Santa Clara this time.

I'll take it.

Bold prediction or maybe not. It will actually be a 2nd in 2024 as Rodgers will wear out his welcome so early the Jets will be able to avoid hitting that 65% threshold.

Saleh: "Goddammit Aaron, that's it. I'm putting in..."

*Saleh looks at bench*

*Zach Wilson waves excitedly*

Saleh: "... uh, just, stop it, Aaron."

They seem pretty shocked about that Udoka-to-HOU news.

You could put any headline from today, April 24th, 2023, on that picture and it'd work.

Wait till the Jets draft a back up QB in the 7th and he takes it personally.

So, without the conditional pick, the deal is dead equal to the Darnold trade.

I remain baffled by NFL trade value. Thanks for the explainer!

PS: From a vibes standpoint, I like the deal for the Jets. The Jets need a shot in the arm (pun intended!) after going to the playoffs just once since 2010 (which was the last time they were in the postseason). It'll definitely be weird seeing Rodgers in Jets green but I'm old enough to remember Joe Montana in KC red so I guess anything can happen in this dumb league.

I would have expected Favre in purple as a comparison.

It's a shame to see a great QB live on; you'd like to think that every great QB can stick with the team they spent their entire career with, like Elway in Denver, Marino in Miami, or Brady in Tampa.

Or Favre in Jets green.

I could never imagine Broadway Hollywood Joe in any other uniform.

ESPN's promoted tweet of this image conveniently uses a frame where the blonde lady's mouth doesn't look like an open butthole.

I'd throw in Emmit Smith as a cardinal, Marcus Allen in KC, Deion in Washington (though Bal made sense to me), and Richard Sherman in SF (sorry *Leg*).

Here's Cranky Mike Tanier from FO nuking my Jets Vibes take right into orbit:

By (finally) acquiring Aaron Rodgers, the New York Jets just traded one 10-win season for having no first-round pick and no quarterback in 2024.

That’s not the catastrophist scenario, the pessimist scenario or the smart-aleck scenario. That’s the most likely scenario.

He's probably not wrong!

Oh it was weird for us too. Sherm was the villain to Niner fans for so long.

Yeah it kinda blew my mind that no trade compensation was tied to Rodgers returning for at least year 2. It was my understanding that that was a big part of the negotiations. I don't know why the Jets let it go.

A Reddit post claims Will Levis has been telling his friends and family that the Panthers are taking him at #1.

This has caused the betting odds for Levis at #1 to skyrocket, from +4000 up to +400.

Insider information? Troll post? Or, the third option which I like best, the story is factually true (Levis is in fact saying those things) but Carolina doesn't take him #1, Levis is just a narcissist dumbass that runs his mouth.

I would say that the trade for one year of Aaron Rodgers was steep, but this was the Jets. Let's be honest. They were going to waste those picks anyway.

That argument would work better if not for the fact that the Jets had the best draft last year. They had the defensive AND offensive rookies of the year, and they were one Breece Hall injury away from having a different one of their players win offensive rookie of the year. Plus their 4th round tackle became a starter for them by the end of the year.

To be fair, they did trade up and took a third 1st rounder, edge rusher Jermaine Johnson, who has been terrible and is already rumored to be a trade candidate. And, it's the same crew who was drafting in 2021, where your argument suddenly gets its legs back...

I will apologize to Enix in advance if this happens because this would result in me posting the Bortles molotov gif about 500 times.

It's also not going to happen. This feels like some oddsmaker was sick of nobody betting on the #1 pick odds anymore, so decided to manufacture a story to drum up a few suckers.

Almost certainly true, but I'm not going to question it too much, because now watching Roger announce pick #1 is must-see TV JUST IN CASE.

From what I was seeing on Twitter, draft kings and some other books pulled some of the draft betting lines so you can't put money on it anymore. So clearly something crazy is going on if Vegas is calling off bets

Or, if Vegas is actually right and not trying to swindle suckers, I really am in the Bad Place.

In related news, the Panthers' former regime had assigned parking spaces for players. Today, on the first day of voluntary minicamp, the team has done away with assigned parking.

So Will Levis Bryce Young will just have to get to the facility early if he wants to park close to the door.

I had to stop and think which gif you were referring to and wondering to myself if eating a snow cone in a hilarious manner is called, "A Bortles Molotov."

Packers Propaganda dump.

Aaron Rodgers Trade: Brian Gutekunst won his staredown with the Jets

Not sure who actually had the leverage in this situation because it's not exactly something you can measure but looks like most people are saying the Packers didn't blink.

2023 NFL Draft: The Packers’ trade up to 13 suggests pick will be a tackle

I'm somewhat meh about moving up in this draft. That said if they land a future LT in the process it makes sense as David Bakhtiari is probably a cap casualty next year.

Never know though as some other team might lose their mind and want to trade up if some QB slides to 13. I would be 100% fine trading back and still landing a good TE while adding 2024 draft capital.
