Diablo IV - Catch All

I logged in 3 times, spent under 10 minutes in queue each time. Once was right at the start of the beta; twice around 0800 Eastern US time.

Queues were down to under a minute by the end of last weekend. It seems to me like they really did find and fix a bunch of technical issues.

First queue was 26 minutes (according to them)
Every queue after that was a minute or less.

My concern is going to be the massive increase in player count with this being a limited time free release. Seems like a classic server stress test. Hopefully this helps them actually have a success full launch in June. Given the notorious history of Blizzard launches, they could use whatever help they can get.

First 2 queues for me were over 120 min long.

Mine was 120 minutes then timed out and I had to do it again. That was on Friday. Got down to under a minute in most cases by Saturday.

For me, on Friday, my first queue was five minutes. Next was 139 minutes. I didn't play again on Friday.

Saturday and Sunday, under a minute every time.

Rod Fergusson spoke to Eurogamer about, among other things, the queue times.

"Sometimes, queues are part of how many servers are available and those sorts of things, but the other side of queues, honestly, is around protecting the services. Sometimes you'll put a queue in place just so that if there's one particular service - like writing to the database - that you're trying to not overwhelm, you'll add to the queue to say, "Hey let's just slow down a little bit while we fix this or look at it." So it's not always just availability of space. Sometimes something's being investigated, or you're trying to manage pressure on one particular thing until you can reinforce it.

And that's actually what happened: we actually turned up the queues a little bit to protect this while we were working, and then, once we did the work, we were able to start dialling it up and dialling it up and the queue was going back down again."

So my laptop downloaded the latest beta, and I thought, what the hell, and tried to log in.

Anyone tried the open beta? I've got it downloaded but am afraid to see the queue times...

Do it. If they are outrageous try again in an hour

Queue started at 56 minutes, then jumped to 24. Now at 21.

Currently at 19, started at 43 minutes (11 minutes ago)

Mine said 45 minutes so I logged into WoW to poke at the new patch there. Looks like logging into another game kicked me out of the queue? Hard to say because it was behind WoW, which was working fine. When I checked I was just told my login attempt had timed out. Rejoining the D4 queue seems to have booted me from WoW.

Edit: nope, looks like it was something else. I was able to have both games running no problem just now (D4 was just the queue).

I'm stuck on "Queued for game - Start Game Pending..."
Been there for about 18 minutes.

BUT! My PS5 character came over seamlessly to the PC. I like this!

I got to play for about an hour, then got booted.

Necromancer is a joy.

Druid has been fun. Good crowd control and 2 player has been great with my wife so far.

First impression* of the Druid is I feel a bit more encouraged to pick a single lane than I would like. Not sure how much of that is just the werewolf and werebear aesthetics. Hopefully I'll find a good mix like I did with the Rogue. The earth-bender abilities feel great.

Will have to check out the Necro next.

*I just got to the city, but made a point to try out all of the 10 abilities I could reach.

About a 37 minute queue at 5:30 PDT on the PS5, and it was accurate.

I'm going in pretty blind. A lot of story, eh?

Played the necromancer for a bit. Confused how I haven't lost a single skeleton in combat. Either they're too powerful or maybe something's bugged.

Got a sorcerer to 25 in last weekend's beta and loved it. Played a necro up to 15, did not care for it at all. Playing a rogue now (ranged) and the playstyle is awesome. I didn't expect to love a rogue but so far so good!

How is it on the XBox S?

I think I requested to join the clan? The leader is Joker25V?

Same, but I just got to the main town and unlocked stuff. I'm also playing on the easier difficulty level. It is weird to have 5 skellies follow me in town.

Really? Corpse explosion rocks!

I’ve had minions die during events, though I’ve also had multiple instances when switching zones where they all disappear and the minion counter reads zero but I can’t summon any more. I think they’re just buggy.

Corpse explosion feels too slow, It would be nice if there was a modifier to speed up the cooldown between explosions or just make everything pop at once.

All of my achievements were accomplished on 12/31/69. I'm a Time Lord.

Played until level 15 as a werewolf Druid and it didn't really jive with me. Movement was a little too slow and damage wasn't high enough. Tried out a Sorcerer and had a blast. Much faster paced with more visual flair. Probably going to give all the classes a try.

Dkhath, playing on Veteran, I've lost a few skellies in normal combat but immediately raised them back again. Against bosses, I've never lost all 4, but almost did. I don't think they've finished balancing pets yet.
