NCAA Basketball 2022-2023 Catch-all

Yes Memphis State collapse. Tale as old as time...

Day 2 group update.
UpToIso in 1st with 26/32.
Stele in last with 18/32. Ouch. I really put the wrong bracket in here.

Ego Man lost his champion Purdue already. Everyone else picked Houston or Alabama.

I should not win. I may have watched an hour of college hoops this year, and it was a team that didn’t make the tourney.

You are eminently qualified then.

I like the reference to the old name here as a bit of shade

SDSU with a dominate win over Furman takes us to the Sweet 16 for the 2nd time in school history. Four more wins to go!

I think this is happening. Tenn up 11 late

Uros taunting Duke fans on his way off the floor is so him.

Dude's hated around the SEC as much as anybody, but I swear he's enjoyed being a Vol after his transfer more than anybody. He's at all the other sporting events on campus. Baseball, softball, football, whatever.

Probably one of the best heels in UT history. He's not a great player, but he fills a role.

Kansas out.

We knew there were no un-busted brackets after Purdue lost, but there REALLY aren't any un-busted brackets now.

Wide open field. Houston's trailing Auburn. Have cut it from 10 near the half.

EDIT: Auburn didn't come out playing as well in the second.

Muss with his shirt off post game I love it.

Princeton was in control the entire game. 15 in the sweet 16 3 years in a row. Wow.

Well... Duke losing means they can't win another title, so that will let me enjoy the tournament a bit more. Kansas losing means THEY can't win back to back, so that's fine.

I think I'm all in on FDU or Princeton winning the whole thing. That would be amazing.

Alright the good wildcats win. I can enjoy this UK free tournament now

I understand and empathize with this viewpoint.

Someone else I know posted that this apparently leaves UNC as the leader in NCAA tournament wins (by 1?). I mean... great, I guess? Still doesn't help not PLAYING in the big dance this year.

Kansas is 4 ahead of UK on all-time wins list too.

I think UK took the lead a few years ago but then that 9 win season in 21 let Kansas back in front. Good stuff.

Miami plays like the team we saw several times during the season and trounces Indiana in the last 10 min. Not sure they can outrun Houston, but they definitely have the firepower to keep up.

And the ACC keeps it's 43 year Sweet 16 streak alive.

No thanks to the Triangle teams, that's for sure.

Group update:
MrPlow in first. But tboon in second and has the most possible points left. Alabama vs Houston champs.

Ego locked into last and the least possible max points too. Sorry, buddy.

I'll see if there's a second chance sweet 16 bracket and fire that up later today.

Considering the first game I saw this season was the UVA choke on Thursday, my bracket is justified. I knew there were going to be upsets, I just didn’t guess right. Oh well

I went with an SDSU v. Arkansas final. While it would make certain already annoying segments of the Minnesota fanbase absolutely insufferable, I'm pretty sure it would literally make the worst Twin Cities area sport writer's head explode which would be a net positive for the world at large.

Cards women destroyed Texas on their home court by 22 tonight. Good times.

And #1 Indiana goes down to Miami, also at home.

And Duke in OT on their home court right now.

Women's bracket hasn't had two #1 seeds out of the sweet 16 since 1998. Parity finally arriving a bit to that side as well.

Tennessee Women won by 45 and 47 in the first and second rounds.

Nothing will make me care for stanfurd.. but I must say some stanfurd on stanfurd violence from their super successful women's coach, Tara Vanderveer makes for great entertainment:

In an interview following the #1 seed furd women upset loss against #8 seed Ole Miss:

Q: Do you put any credence to when you guys won the Championship, you were going through all kinds of adversity[[...] and this year you lose in the second round. Do you see any differences in what was going on around you when you guys won it all as up to now?

A (from Vanderveer): I'm not going to fall into the trap of saying, wow, we had a horrible season. I know that our men's team would be ecstatic to be playing two games in the NCAA Tournament."

This coach on coach stuff at the same school is getting more common. Just a couple of days ago, Saban suspended a guy for getting arrested going up to 141 miles an hour running from the cops with a half a pound of weed, $7K, and a gun in his car. Said there is no such thing as "wrong place at the wrong time".

Your turn Nate.
