The GWJ cRPG Club Main Thread Part 2 - Still playing Pillars of Eternity 2

Edit: Relocated this over to the Grimrock-specific thread.

Congratulations to all the Grimrock completers.

There is about 2 weeks to go before I call the next vote for Q2, so get those thinking caps on for the next game.

I'm thinking Alpha Protocol or maybe even Expeditions: Conquistador...

OK, I'm slightly conscious that we've been stiffed by the steam sale timings.

If anyone would like a very condensed voting schedule (there would be about 2 days for each round I think) to try and get a decision in before the end of the sale, then please let me know before lunch time Friday (12pm, GMT) If I get 10 or more people saying "yes" I'll do it (this would be a majority based on the numbers voting over the last year or so)

Otherwise I'll open the voting with a more normal schedule. Up to you guys.

Sounds good, most of the voting happens pretty quickly anyway.

Yes.

Aye, Captain!

Hey, if we're pressed for time, I have an idea...

Going to extend this out to 4pm GMT (12pm EST I think with current clock settings) and then kick things off one way or another.

Yes

Thumbs up

Do it.

Grimrock 2, electric boogaloo?

Go for it

Not close to it's lowest price, but still on sale.

It's only hit that 60% off sale once. It's been 50% or 55% off the last 6 sales.

It's as good as you're likely to get, stragglers who haven't purchased all the other times it's been on sale!

AP is the only acceptable non-Kenshi nomination. Though it's a tough choice now for people that didn't buy it before it was delisted from stores. (At least the PS3 emulator RPCS3 runs it well, for an alternative way of playing on PC)

So that’s 9 people. Hmmmm. Something has come up this evening my side which means I’ll set thing going tomorrow morning my time as I’ve not really got time to do it now. If anyone else is OK speeding it up, say so.

I just picked up Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous - $15.99 in the Steam sale and I don't see it in the list of played games so I would put in a vote for that. I also don't see Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire listed and I have that on my backlog so I would like to vote for that too - and heck it is $10 on the Steam sale now.

Nominations for the 22nd cRPG club game are now open.

Usual format - you can nominate 1 game but can second as many as you like.

I'm assuming that both Stele and Farley are in favour of condensing the voting to take advantage of the Steam Sale just before it ends. Therefore I will look to have the final decision in Place by the end of 22nd March. If we have another tie break situation there might not be a lot we can do about it though.

Please be aware that gives us less than 48 hours per voting round. If you want to be involved, you'll have to be on the ball!

1. Initial Nomination round to close Sunday (tomorrow!) 9pm GMT / 5pm EST.
2. "Pick 6" round (depending on the number of nominations) to close Tuesday 21st March 12pm (midday) GMT / 8am EST
3. Final pick round to close Wednesday 22nd March, 9pm GMT / 5pm EST.

I hope that's OK. If we don't get enough nomination and can skip the "Pick 6" round then I'll just extend the final voting round.

My nomination is Expeditions: Rome.

I nominate Kingdoms of Amalur.

Seconding Amalur and nominating Wasteland 3.

I'll nominate my old friend Wildermyth. They've patched in some new pets and events this quarter.

Seconding Wildermyth as well.

Seconding Wasteland 3

Is that you nominating PoE2?

Yes I will nominate PoE2: Deadfire

I'll second PoE 2 even though I never finished the first haha.

I’d like to nominate Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous

I’ll second this.

God help me though. I’d probably try to go through Kingmaker first.

Is there any story/events connection between Kingmaker and WotR? (Any reason to want to play the former first?)

They reference the events a little in the backstory, but that's it. WotR is a smoother experience but either you like the Pathfinder system or you don't.
