Post a picture, entertain me!

Beren and Luthien are my favorite characters.

I absolutely love that they have blocked the Apple Mail app on all company issued iPhones at my new job. Best I.T. decision ever. Now if they would just do the same for the damn Windows Mail one on desktops/laptops.

We tried. Its policy. But no enforcement. And it does not stop the flood of "I can't get my email on my iphone" tickets/emails/IMs

Bombadil's not likely to be a Maiar, as the Ring had no power over him, while it did have power over the other Maiar. Possibly he's an Ainur, but Tolkien was deliberate about keeping what he truly was a mystery, though he rejected at least one explanation people put forth (that he was the living embodiment of Eru Ilúvatar).

This guy has read The Silmarillion. ;)

I have read it, but only once and it was over two decades ago. And it was much like studying for a history test in that I only retained what I read long enough to get through it and most of it did not stick in my memory at all. I've retained far more from brushing up with Tolkien wikis.

I had a lot of fun with this when I figured it out. Convinced my little sister there was a ghost in the lounge room that didn't want her playing music too loudly.

By Grabthar's Hammer, what a savings.

I'm in this picture and I don't like it

Yeah, that one hits too close to home for me.

I am not sure if I feel seen or attacked. Perhaps both.

Somehow I imagine this is how dining in hell would look

This hits far too close to home for me...

My 22 year old keeps "cooking ahead" and filling up most of our tupperware, she then takes said containers to work and throws away container after container after container, not enough to toss the food, she LOVES to wait until the food is so old it has contaminated the lid/tupperware to the point that it has to be thrown away (to be fair, she works two jobs while attending college, to be rude, she spends most of her income on bullsh*t and fast-food..... [kids.....sighhhhhhh.....]).

Someone should photoshop Guy Fieri into those diner pics.

First game I ever played

So, the last time my parents ever bought me a game I asked for was Descent. I begged for weeks and they kept saying no. Then, they woke me up on my 14th birthday at 12:07 AM (the exact time of my birth) and told me to type the word "birthday" on the computer. They had secretly asked a tech-savvy friend to install the game and change the password. I think the decision to stop buying me games was made when they woke up the next morning and I was still playing.

All those fancy graphics.

Tandy Color Computer 2. At first I was playing with a paddle controller that my dad kitbashed together from a rheostat light dimmer and some random button. No, that isn't Space Invaders exactly; it's an unlicensed clone. I would go on to enjoy such other classics as "Donkey King" and "Ghost Gobbler" on the same computer.

I am so old that this was the first video game I ever played:

I don't remember the first game I ever played, but Pole Position on the Atari 7800 is probably the earliest that I can recall.

Have to shout out Scorched Earth from Farley's post above too! Soooo many hours playing that with my friends.

Probably not my "first game" (who the hell remembers that), but certainly THE game that really set me on a path of loving video games.

XYZZY
That is all

In fact, every time I've driven to Vegas, I've gotten a good chuckle when passing the sign for Zzyzyx

Yeah that would be tough to answer. I know as I kid I went to those 70s arcades. I'm sure I played a few of the analog driving and shooting games. But recall playing this digital sub game for sure.

You look through the periscope, which probably was difficult at my age, but I think there was a step you could stand on to get your face in there. There was little fire button on one of the handles that would shoot a torpedo from the bottom to the top of the screen. You could rotate the periscope left and right to aim your shots.

There were a couple of boats you could try and torpedo and then a destroyer ship that I think dropped depth charges or something. Pretty simple but back then that was very entertaining.

In second grade we had access to Apple // computers. This was probably the first computer I was exposed to and some of us quickly discovered the disks had some games on them. One of them was Brickout which was a Breakout clone.

The other game I recall being on the disk was a text base game where you guess an animal based on clues or something along those lines.

I'm betting something in the arcade was the first game I played though.

In kindergarten I got the chicken pox and had to stay home from school. My parents borrowed a Pong console from my Aunt and Uncle and I played it for hours on end until I was better. I missed it terribly after they gave it back.
