Name that GAME Thread

Correct your up!

Loved that game, as well as the follow up, Archer Maclean's Pool (named after the programmer).

Maclean died in December, and that made me sad.

Let's give the Americans a chance to get one:

Those graphics look neither 16-bit Sega nor Nintendo-like, so could it be TV Sports Football?

Joe Montana Football running on a hi-res emulator?

TV Sports Football

AUs is right - it is Joe Montana Football.

I don't think it's through a hi-res emulator... looks 16-bit to me, but IDK..

The uniforms in your screenshot just look very smoothed out rather than pixely.

Spreadsheet of all games (link in OP) is updated. Last did this in October through page 268.
Before you check, the answer to my above posted game is not (yet) in the list.

I've learned a few things.
1. I'm currently playing two games (Hades and Anachronox) that were posted on pages 273 and 274 only 2ish months ago. This was not planned. Stayed in my mind subconsciously?
2. Tasty Pudding and Pink Stripes must have incredibly similar tastes in gaming, considering how often they guess each other's game.
3. We hit 1500 posted games at the end of page 276. The game was The Case of the Golden Idol, posted by Pink Stripes, guessed by bobbywatson. Congratulations you two.

That's amazing! Thank you for keeping the list updated!

On the posted game, it looks like another westernized Kunio Kun game but I can't pin it down. It's not one of the dodgeball ones and it's not River City Ransom. I'm stumped beyond that.

The guy underwater looks like a Fraggle.

Robert Maxwell Extreme Swimming?

...

(...too soon?)

River City Swimming?
Kunio-Kun... swim club

Crash 'n' the Boys: Street Challenge

Free play if I'm correct.

I'm just curious what's even going on in that picture. 1v1 water polo? Breath-holding contest?

Correct and freeplay!

Yet another sports game named after a sports celebrity.

I never noticed that before, but now I can't not see it.

Well if it's free play.

Uh oh... did I pick one that's way too old? :S

I’m wracking my brain here it looks amstrad / spectrum era which is bang in my wheel house but it’s not ringing an immediate bell.

I Google-fu'd it, and while I was playing games like this back then, I have no recollection of this one! So too obscure maybe? Perhaps others will remember it without resorting to image search!

Is it a weird version of the Oregon Trail? That's what the food, score, and water at the bottom make me think of.

Maybe this one looms large in my brain because I played it so much as a kid on my c64: Chimera

Free play 'cause I picked to weird a title!

Yes! Bonus points for the full title!

You could have also given more than 24 hours for guessing. Not that I would have known, but I just checked back in from a day and a half ago.

It's one of the very few games my wife will play with me.
She's also better than me at it.

My obvious first guess is Wipeout but I don't remember that being the Wipeout UI...

I played Super Off-Road a lot as a kid on my PC. I never knew it had an amazing arcade cabinet until just a few years ago when I got to try it.

Not a Wipeout title. This is a futuristic motorcycle combat racer.

I still remember the Super Off Road arcade cabinet from my city's small airport.
