OMG you guys the first two episodes of season two of Birdgirl dropped today!
Doo doo do dooo!!!
I didn't know there was a season 1.
I was a bit hesitant at first (being a big OG Harvey fan), but it really finds its pace quickly.
Yeah I loved Birdgirl on the original Harvey Birdman but this show DEFINITELY finds its own footing very quickly indeed.
It was pretty good - the juvenile humour and "adult stuff for the sake of proving it's an adult animation" prompted a fair number of eyerolls though. (Especially since a lot of it was new to the series and not in the original campaign which means they just addeded to the cartoon to be 'edgy')
Why has this been such a consistent issue with adult animation in the west? Like, Harley Quinn and The Lower Decks both got much, much better with time, but both have terrible cases of "6th-grader who thinks he's being edgy"-itis sometimes (moreso in HQ's case, who was clearly SO thrilled they could say "f*ck").
Ice Bear rules.
Well, that's just crushingly dismaying.
Watched the latest season of Rick and Morty. Really weak episode to end the season on but over all a good season. Space Beth was in a few episode. They did a Die Hard. Had a callback to the Roy game. Dinosaurs came back to visit. Incest all over the place, gross.
Could have used a few more episodes.
I was shocked the dinosaur episode was the season finale. It seemed so abrupt.
It wasn’t the finale, just the mid-season break they’ve been doing for a couple seasons now. The other half of the season resumes in mid-November.
I just watched all of Primal on HBO Max. Good (but violent) show.

At this point I can't tell if returning to that well is some sort of inside joke the writers have with themselves, or tapping into some internet meme-dom I'm not familiar with.
When Space Beth asked about Naruto I had legit forgotten that was what they named the Morty/Summer baby and had to lookup if the anime had some sort of recent resurgence on Google.
But yeah, I also thought this season's episodes were overall solid with the low point being the dinosaur one, which was maybe trying to lampoon liberal savior complexes? I don't think it landed/achieved that, if so.
Watched all of Primal. The entire series was great except for two episodes, the final and the episode they went forward in time. The forward in time episode was just pointless, it didn't fit with the other episodes. The final had a fire guy in it that made no sense. The problem with the fire guy was they didn't explain why he was sent after primal dude. I don't think primal dude even knew who the F fire dude was. Also don't know how I feel about death by snu snu. Great series mostly. The action and violence was on point. The said a lot using silence. The brutal world building was great.
Started Harley Quinn Season 3. The first episode was good. The second one wasn't very good. The second episode didn't have focus. They should have dropped the Bane B plot. The first episode was all Harley and Ivy going on a F, Bang, Kill tour to celebrate getting married. Entire episode was fun and perverted.
I was underwhelmed by HQ S3 after loving the first two. Lots of great moments, but I think they ran into the antihero problem, see Book of Boba. No real idea where they really want to go with all of this.
Hey Arnold. I know it’s on Paramount but I have been trying the library to watch. It’s in bits an pieces and the discs are scratched bad. I don’t have to watch it all but most are unplayable. Grr.
Adult Swim just announced that they’re firing Justin Roiland, but that Rick & Morty will continue without him. Not certain how that will work out since he voices like 60% of the characters, but I’m still glad that Adult Swim did the right thing.

All Jerry baby!
I actually would be good with an all Beth spinoff.
I know that Harmon does a good enough Rick that he’s done ADR when Roiland wasn’t available, but it’s not like Roiland was a particularly skilled voice actor so I’m sure they can find people to seamlessly take over roles.
Or you get this:
I bet they could just use a soundboard for Morty anyway.
I'm in no position to say one thing caused the other thing, but it is interesting to me that what's been regarded as one of the most toxic fanbases in cartoon franchises was drawn to the one created by someone who faces these kinds of criminal charges.

Yeah, I'm glad a bunch of people didn't lose their jobs, but I too was like "This is like trying to continue Nathan For You, but without Natan Fielder."
Earlier in the week there was a former coworker of Roiland on twitter saying that after internal investigations due to his behavior, Roiland’s role had basically been reduced to voice actor on Rick & Morty and he hasn’t been involved in writing or production on the show since the first couple seasons, so if they can find some voice actors that sound even vaguely similar I don’t think the show is going to change much.
Apparently Roiland has been an issue for a while now, so it’s definitely troubling that AS waited until now to do anything about it, especially considering they signed that huge contract AFTER they had already had to deal with him.
