Some side quests give good xp, gold, resources, upgrade materials etc. They stay relevant.
Right, but like some of us said above... you can always go back to them and should actually. There's just 0 need to do them before you get to 50 if you're looking to speed up the process to get to the end game.
I suppose I can always come back later and do the side quests for kindness points or whatever, but does that stuff even matter once you’re past leveling?
Sure does. There are a lot of NPCs that you need a minimum amount of kindness/charisma/whatever to increase their rapport. These give you things like skill points (to improve how powerful your spells are), collection items, and a variety of other items.
When I leveled (and I'm not sure why people are so in a hurry to get to the top, the leveling experience for me was great and I enjoyed exploring all of the areas), I did the main questline as well as side quests that came up. With that being said, there's no right or wrong way to level. Just have fun!

Here here
Since you have to join a guild for one of the quests, if someone on Regulus needs a guild feel free to use City Watch, just ping me in DMs a heads up. I'm not doing much in it at the moment, FYI, as I'm just a filthy casual but I didn't want to join a random guild. (though at this point I'm 80 hours in and still booting it up daily so maybe not so casual...)

I'm still doing every quest that I come across so I don't miss any character building stuff, but after 47 hours of playing I just can't bring myself to read the sidequest text anymore.
I think the main issue is that none of the sidequests really have any weight, and there are so many of them that they all blur together. I read every bit of text and listened to every voiceover up until I reached Luterra, and while I have a good understanding of the main story, there's not a single sidequest that stuck with me. I realize that this is not a game designed with western sensibilities in mind, so I'm ok with that, I just kinda wish they had gone with more quality vs quantity in that area.
Still definitely enjoying the game though!

Likewise, I have a guild on Mari called Lost Cascadia if anyone’s looking. It was originally intended to be a local guild for some friends but everyone I know is playing either Horizon or Elden Ring so I made it public.
Is there any type of "gear transfer" for jewelry that I can use to upgrade the quality of some of my jewelry items, or are you just stuck with the quality it drops at?

As far as I can tell, it's fixed. No upgrades, only replacements. You can buy additional pieces from the Chaos dungeon vendor, but they're random rolls too.

Bummer, I’ve got some very low quality jewelry that I just can’t give up due to some awesome engraving bonuses. Oh well!
Bots, what bots?
What server are most people playing on here?
There's a group of us playing on Avestus... Search for 'Gamerswith Jobs' and put in a request
Played this for a bit. Some initial impressions:
Pros:
Great graphics, cool moves/animations and spells.
Cons:
Hate the gender locked characters. Hate this in other games and it applies to this as well.
Not a big fan of the over the top breasts popping out of clothes and some of the other costumes etc. Totally takes the immersiveness out of it, for me at least. I know there is a big appeal for this kind of stuff for people but just not my jam.
The cons were enough for me to put it down and not play it for awhile. I will pick it up again at some point but with so many other options out there for ARPG's, I'm just not rushing.
Lost Ark is primarily a MMO, but with ARPG combat.
It's also a KR game which sadly explains all your cons...
Ended up having a fair bit of fun with parts of the game; exploring islands (by far the best part of the game imo), following the campaign etc. Combat was okay, but a bit boring imo, too reliant on cooldowns and "ground effect dancing" in boss fights.
I stopped playing in the end when I hit the forced multiplayer/raiding at around ilvl 1350 something, after spending some weeks pugging the first of those raids.
MMO sure, fine, but it still felt weird to suddenly not just offer a bunch of raid and group content, but outright require it. I mean, even WoW etc. doesn't stop you from lvling through the expansions if you dont raid.
Well, those demoralizing upgrade percentages also didn't help.
Still, if they release new zones and islands some day, I might look in again.
Also greatly dislike it being Pay To Win gambling monetized. Just outlaw that stuff.
Huh. Apparently I've been permanently banned from Lost Ark on Steam. Which is odd since I haven't logged into the game in about a year...
I read a random Reddit post ( so it must be true ) claiming that they have been banning inactive accounts as part of their antibot tactics.
Seems like a solid strategy to get players back into the game. I give it an A+
i just logged in to make sure my account was safe... so they got my +1
Now I'm curious. Will report back tonight.
...and now I've been unbanned. For a game I'm done with. OK I guess?
Finally got around to installing tonight. Not banned, but I don't see my character anywhere, gonna start fresh if I do hop back in.
