NFL 2022: The playoffs thread

As an aside...

I thought this was a euphemism for something I as an old wouldn't understand.

No, dude just bought a ticket to Thailand!?

Judging by what I've just seen on the Internet in regards to Brandon Stale Bread this evening, buying "a one-way ticket to Thailand" may very well indeed become an Internet euphemism for fired/about-to-be-fired coaches.

Edit:

Thailand is to the NFL what Cleveland is to GWJ's forums!

Put this on shirts!

From Twits via Reddit:
[Nick Wright] Brock Purdy now has as many career playoff touchdowns (4) as Jimmy Garoppolo.

In fairness to Collins, that was against an all-time D.

I always forget that Collins who was found passed out drunk at 5am in a drainage ditch when I was at Penn State managed to start in a SB.

He can't come back from this.

Wouldn't happen to a San Diego team, IJS.

Let's start with the obvious "Chris Simms is a douche,", but, to give him some credit, he pointed out that, after the Chargers were up 27-0, for the rest of the game, they ran the ball 8 times. And passed 25 times.

Did Kyle Shanahan start calling plays for the Chargers when we weren't looking?

My brother came over to watch some football before we went to see Avatar tonight.

We turned on the game right as the graphic was showing 3 INTs, 17-0 LAC and it was still the first quarter. My brother asked, "Are we going to get an Epic in Jacksonville like the Miracle in Miami?"

Then we left to go to the movie after two more TOs and it was 27-0. As we were going in, it was 30-20 and the two-pointer was no good. "Epic in Jacksonville is possible!"

After we got back we were sitting in the car and I saw on the scrawl of the NFL Radio channel: "Jaguars Defeat Chargers" and we both lost it.

I hope Enix actually did go to bed. Gonna be real confused tomorrow.

No confusion. I knew a Jags comeback was possible because I slept through it. That's the way these late games seem to work these days. I wish one of you nerds would invent an app that would tell me whether I can safely skip the ending of a game or that maybe I should stick it out. I would totally buy it!

Anyhoo, congrats on getting Brandon Staley fired and opening a wormhole that sends Sean Payton to the Chargers and complicating the AFC for the next decade.

PS: Here's a nice breakdown of Etienne's key fourth-quarter run that was a callback to the Jags-Chargers game earlier this season.

Haha that's fun. Live I was woah that's a call.

Before the game partner who is getting more into football (I warned her) asked me who I thought was going to win.

I said it's a pretty close game but the Jags coach was definitely the better one. Doug Pederson in the playoffs is great for neutrals.

Jags are signing Nathan Rourke from the CFL. He was a superstar with my local team and people who cars are very upset he’s leaving.

Do Florida teams dislike playing in the first half?

It’s all about the money so there’s no going back but expanding the wild card round and eliminating the second seed first round bye IMO has lowered the quality of the playoffs. There’s no way the Bills and the Niners should be playing this weekend.

Legion, how did your two teams play exactly four quarters on good football and BOTH end up winning?

Brock Purdy and Trevor Lawrence both now have the same number of career postseason TDs (4) as Jimmy Garoppolo.

I still can't believe 80 for Brady is a real movie. It sounds like a fake movie inside a real movie.

Gah!! I thought you were making a funny joke. But it’s real. This narcissistic douche actually produced a movie centered around himself. I somehow hate Brady even more now.

So, Josh Allen throws a temper tantrum after an interception, other Bills players come to "defend" him and the officials just decide it's offsetting penalties? That's some bullsh*t. The actions of one team were responsible for every aspect of that "fight".

And I thought doing his own Jordan-like self-produced documentary "Man in the Arena" was bad enough.

Refs been trying to help Allen all day since opening drive

Purdy is a big chicken?

We've replaced our usual San Diego Chargers with the Buffalo Bills; let's see if anybody notices.

Every Bills game is just:

- Early Diggs bomb in the first 15
- crippling mistake
- turnover
- Gabe Davis go brrrrrr
- crippling mistake
- Knox doing wacky sh*t
- Bills win hurray

We are currently at Step 5.

Dolphins staying in it wow

Thompson has been crap and the Dolphins have every chance of winning this game. Amazing.

Another fumble. Mr January indeed

Come on Miami, give us the chaos.
