NFL 2022: The Week 18 thread

Damar Hamlin has been discharged from the hospital and is on his way back home to Buffalo.

Absolutely amazing.

Chris Pronger went through the same thing and had a similar recovery timeline. This felt even more terrifying and it's amazing that they seem to be walking the same path.

Peyton Hillis is in critical condition after saving 4 people in the water off Pensacola? Sounds like he thought there was a fifth person and he went back in and that's how he ended up nearly drowning.

Here is the link…

Apparently he was rescuing at least one of his kids.

Trying to rescue someone from drowning is one of the most dangerous things you can do. Always take water safety EXTREMELY seriously.

Agreed.

Look Before You Leap
Reach or Throw, Don't Go
Don't Just Pack It, Wear Your Life Jacket

And if you or someone you know doesn't know how to swim, lessons are for everyone!

(Above is just throwing out there as encouragement, everyone in this incident could have been at Olympic Trials and still had it happen, water is just like that sometimes.)

Oh boy.

1st interview question: Coach, what's your gamer tag?

That's a massive W for other NFC West fans.

Kyler is definitely talented but this is going sideways pretty quickly and epically.

Always nice to have a trainwreck of an organization (or 2 or 3) in your division.

Oh ya the Bears managed to get the #1 pick... Too bad they don't have their own 2nd rounder this year because they supposedly managed to steal Chase Claypool away from being traded to the Packers.

One of the most telling moments of this whole season is when Patrick Peterson took to his podcast to air some harsh words about Kyler Murray, his ex-teammate, and the response from Kyler's current teammates was... almost total dead silence.

This coming after the offseason when the Kyler study clause put his work ethic in the crosshairs. Teammates supported him a little bit more at that time, but still it was hardly the rebuke you would expect from teammates of a QB worthy of that giant contract.

Rich Eisen was on his show today or yesterday, and said absolutely everything he hears out of the Cardinals locker room sounds just like what Patrick Peterson said.

We've almost forgotten how back in February, Kyler's agent released a ridiculous, overdramatic public statement on Kyler's behalf, while Kyler scrubbed Instagram of all his Cardinals stuff.

But apparently none of this has shaken Bidwell's commitment to Kyler. Starting to remind me an awful lot of RG3 and Danny Boy.

Claypool would have caught the ball Doubs dropped.

Gotta see that KDA ratio

Titans have fired OC Todd Downing, along with some other assistant coaches.

Looks like it's back to the drawing board for the Titans offensive staff.

Alright, let's form an orderly line, I know everyone's got a joke here and we can't all tell them at once.

Well of course he's intimidated by competition with older men.

He's just gonna ask for his mom's phone number over and over again.

Rodgers to the Jets!

I'm starting the campaign. It would be lots of great entertainment for everyone.

LOVE this.

Qaaron is like that local guy who had been a big fish/small pond. Would love to see how well his "mEdIa AcUmEn" handles the big leagues.

The older QB could never relax, always having to be alert to dodge errant throws during Zach's reps.

(Others already had the MILF angle covered)

He needs to head to the NFC South.

Rogers to TB. Some asshole needs to wear the #12

Just because your team got a QB you find repugnant doesn't mean you have to spread that around to everybody else's team.

Former team. In the words Bomani Jones...

Dak Prescott tied Davis Mills to lead the NFL in INTs with 15, but Dak only played 12 games. He's the first QB in history to lead the league in INTs despite missing 5 or more games.

how bout dem cowboyzzz!

I said back at the trade deadline that the Ravens trade for Roquan Smith was only a good move if they were able to extend him and not just make it a 1-year rental.

Well the Ravens did just that, signing him to a new 5-year, $100 million extension, leapfrogging Fred Warner and Shaq Leonard for the top LB contract.

Kinda wish I was a fly on Lamar's wall when he heard of a Raven getting a new position-topping contract that wasn't him, though.

What makes for better offseason Ravens drama? Lamar has a great playoffs and wants a huge contract, or Lamar has a bad playoffs and wants a huge contract? Either way, I have popcorn.

At this point I think the most likely scenario is that Lamar has no playoffs as Anthony Brown plays in a bloodbath in Cincy and Lamar gets dealt to Miami or Seattle for a crapton of picks.

Winston must be so jealous.

I saw rumors that the Jets want to pursue Lamar.
