NFL 2022: The Week 18 thread

There's a few perfectly good neutral friendly dome stadiums in the southwest US.

One of those is home to one of the AFC playoff teams, though. Although if they get to host the AFCCG, it's probably going to end up feeling like an away game anyway.

San Antonio is always ready to throw open the doors to the Alamodome to host a wayward NFL game.

Or! Or!

Lambeau.

Or Aloha Stadium.

Chiefs scored quick

Davis Webb to start for the Giants this week.

3 starting QBs from Cal this weekend. Anyone else done that? Oklahoma (Fields, Murray, Baker?) may be the only other, though with injury history and how bad Baker has been, have all 3 actually started the same weekend?

If Davis Webb can shock the Eagles and open the door for the Niners to take the #1 seed, I'll forever proclaim the superiority of Cal QBs.

This is one of those "taking a swing at them is probably justified" moments.

13-7 Titans at half? Goddamn it, Trevor, I'm trying to root for the Jaguars in the AFC playoffs here.

Just fantastic stuff to see. Truly, an enormous thank you to the first responders who responded so quickly and saved Damar's life.

OK, Jags. You just jagged your way to the lead. Don't jag this up!

That fumble recovery is one of the biggest plays of the season.

For once the refs didn’t screw up a Jags fumble recovery to seal a playoff game.

Congrats, fellow fan of the least sh*tty of the sh*tty teams in a South division this year!

Justin Fields didn’t go to Oklahoma.

Congratulations to the Jags. This year’s Valedictorians of summer school

Maybe NC State? Rivers and Russellwilson are NC State alums, and there might have been a Sunday when Mike Glennon and/or Jacoby Brissett started, too.

Ryan Finley was in the league for a hot second, so it's possible that all five of these guys were on rosters at the same time.

NC State, QB Factory. Who would have thunk it?

Updated playoff scenarios are here. Thank god for CBS, because the NFL doesn't have diddly on the playoff picture in text form. (No, Roger, I'm not sitting through one of your damn videos.)

The piece I linked to explains how a Chiefs-Bills AFC championship game will work (aka at a neutral site) and the Bengals-Ravens coin flip if the Bengals lose to the Ravens today AND they meet in the WC round.

AFC seeds are mostly set (KC has No 1) but could shuffle a bit if Bills, Bengals and Chargers lose. AFC drama is on the 7th seed. Patriots get it if they beat the Bills today. Otherwise, the Dolphins (if they beat the Jets get it). And if the Patriots and the Dolphins both lose, then the Steelers get the 7 seed with a win.

In the NFC, seeds 1-3 could shuffle. Eagles get the 1 with a win over the Giants today; if they lose, we're looking at MAXIMUM CHAOS because the Cowboys could end up with the NFC East title and the overall No 1 seed. Seahawks, Packers and Lions are fighting it out for the 7 seed. Packers have the best shot (beat the Lions and they're in). Lions need to win in the late game today and for the Seachickens to lose; Seattle needs to win (vs the Rams) and have the Lions beat the Packers.

Got that? Good.

OMG why is Panthers Saints on TV? Screw regional games. If you want to be on TV in week 18 make the playoffs. Completely meaningless game

Michigan State had Cousins, Hoyer, and Stanton all starting a few years ago.

Maryland had Boomer Esiason, Frank Reich, and Neil O’Donnell in the years I attended

Argh your right.. I meant Hurts.

Lamar price goin up

Louisville had Lamar, Teddy, and Reggie Bonnafon all starting a couple years ago. But Reggie was a RB, special teams, etc player in NFL, not QB.
