I keep mixing up Jahan Dotson and Josh Doctson.
Both WRs drafted by Washington with 1st round picks.

How I assume this went:
Sammy Watkins goes into the game, catches long pass.
Sammy Watkins heads to the sideline, where he is high-fived by a fellow player.
Sammy Watkins put on IR.
Pretty much. 1 target, 1 catch, 40 yards.
Ravens win
Titans lose to the Texans. Jaguars now take the AFC South lead.
That 69% playoff chance is now 75%. This is not a drill!
Maybe we just don't let the AFC or NFC South into the playoffs. Who says no?
HEY
Genuine spit take.
Purdy finally threw an interception?
Purdy finally threw an interception?
Sorta. Throw was on target but Jennings bobbled it up and the DB grabbed it.
Throw was low and away from the defender even. Zero percent Purdy's fault on that one.

Isn't Dotson actually good though?
Also, missed opportunity not calling them Jahan Doctson and Josh Dotson in your post.
Isn't Dotson actually good though?
Yes, Dotson > Doctson for sure. Doctson is already out of the league.
Still, as someone that doesn't watch Commanders games if I can help it, I keep doing double takes when Dotson does something.
It's WENTZ time for Washington! Heinicke benched.
Joey Slye with one of the worst onside kick attempts ever. Ball made it only about 3 yards and died.
Philly should try not fumbling maybe?
Cowboys fans will be insufferable for a while.

They stop sometimes?

It is known, Khaleesi.

Live look at the AFC South:
So this is pretty wild, but it (almost) literally doesn't matter what happens in week 17 for either the Jags or the Titans.
Week 17 scenarios:
Jags WIN (8-8), Titans LOSE (7-9):
If Jags WIN Week 18: Jags take South outright with a 9-8 record.
If Titans WIN Week 18, Titans tie Jags at 8-9, tied 1-1 H2H, Titans take South via 4-2 divisional record (Jags 3-3 in division)
Bottom line: Winner of week 18 JAX/TEN takes South
Jags LOSE (7-9), Titans WIN (8-8):
If Jags WIN Week 18: Jags tie Titans at 8-9, Jags take South via 2-0 H2H record vs. Titans
if Titans WIN Week 18: Titans take South outright with a 9-8 record.
Bottom line: Winner of week 18 JAX/TEN takes South
Jags WIN (8-8), Titans WIN (8-8):
If Jags WIN Week 18: Jags take South outright with a 9-8 record.
If Titans WIN Week 18: Titans take South outright with a 9-8 record.

Bottom line: Winner of week 18 JAX/TEN takes South
Both teams have absolutely nothing to play for next week, and everything to play for in week 18.
That is... unless that week 18 game ends in a tie.
In the event of a tie, the Jags win in 3 of the 4 above scenarios, with a 1-0-1 head-to-head record over the Titans. The only exception is the Jags lose and Titans win Week 17 scenario, in which case the Titans would take the division with an 8-8-1 record over the Jags' 7-9-1.
Yeah my Nashville in laws were already to that conclusion during the week. 2 of them said on Wed that its going to come down to Tenn v Jax and whoever wins is in.
So, if the situation in the afc north race is interesting.
If the ravens win out, they take the north and likely face Miami or San Diego in round one. But if they lose to Cincinnati and become the five seed, they play either the titans or jags.
The same goes for the bengals.
Aside from home field, this presents an interesting incentive to tank.

Ya not really.
If I'm the Bengals I'm happily inviting the Dolphins or Chargers to Cincy in January. Don't over think it.

You were doing a lot of deep thinking that late on Christmas Eve.
Just being in the playoffs hunt as a jags fan at Christmas is the best present he's had in years

Christmas comes but once a year, but Jaguars playoff shots come about once a decade.
As an outside observer, it makes your fandom of that team from Santa Clara more tolerable.
You're just like the rest of us, getting your guts as a fan stomped on by your team's performance...not some silver spoon, front-runner fan of a golden team with 5 Super Bowls in 7 appearances and back-to-back HOF QBs and a team that can win despite playing Mr Irrelevant at QB that is always in the playoff hunt.
I kid.
Also: Merry Christmas, ya filthy animals!
Tua kinda falling apart at the end here.
I was born into the Niners fandom. They're like my family.
I chose the misery of Jaguars fandom. They're like my in-laws.
...
This metaphor is more accurate than I realized when I first started typing.
Tua Turntheballova is back.
