Marvel Snap - Catch-all

Hmm, yeah, Wong still sucks even post-nerf. I just ran into someone who played him, Ironheart, White Tiger, and Onslaught on a double reveal location, and while it resolved pretty quickly, the result still rather sucked. I guess the solution to this extremely easy combo to create is to always have Rhino in your deck, so the defeat will be much more narrow? Even without the location, it was a lot.

Cosmo shuts that all down. Stops all "On Reveal" effects. Highly recommend.

Yeah, that is true. I find the idea that I need one card in everything to deal with this specific situation a little irritating, is all.

I'm with you there. However, Cosmo can be used for other purposes. He's also great insurance against a Shang-Chi taking out one of your other high powered cards. Plus, I have a deck with the Destroyer card (on Reveal, it destroys all your other cards on the board), so I use Cosmo to turn that power off, and I can just use him as a 15 power card.

Cosmo makes an appearance in the Guardians of the Galaxy Christmas Special

Cosmo is best boy.

I have had a bug happen a couple times now where I can't play the last turn, and there's a weird glitch, like double overlay, over the commit turn timer.

Oh, I actually just barely put together a deck like that, and also tested Destroyer on Bar Sinister, and yes, he will destroy himself.

Been playing far too much of this game. It is right up my alley. I think I broke the game with moon girl/devil dino combo. I has only lost once

Moon Girl/Devil Dino is a pretty popular deck combo. Throw in Mystique and it’s even more powerful. However, it can very easily be countered by any location or card that messes with ongoing abilities (such as Enchantress) and is also weak to certain destruction cards (like Shang-Chi, who destroys any card with over 9 power).

i was crushing with Devil Dinosaur too, switched to a Leader-Daredevil deck, feels so different. Not winning as much, but i'm seeing more cards from pool 3, and they are wild. Still really fun.

Never thought a 12 card deck builder could be so engaging.

I've got a couple of decks that I rotate between where I don't play any card in the first three turns (except for sunspot, which allows him to grow more powerful, and can draw out Killmonger before I lay down any other 1 cost cards). This allows me to see what my opponent is doing, and then in turns 4-6 I can usually play what I need to win. My problem is that I keep forgetting to snap, so ranking is going slowly. Lots of fun! I'm at collection level 903 right now and getting close to the gold caches.

Edit, rather than starting a new post: I'm finding a lot of players, at least in my ranking area, are playing just to their deck without really watching what their opponent is doing. Like a racing game, where they seem to be playing in parallel rather than against.

New event, hype up the DJ, get rewards. Looks like it's a collective, daily event.

Cool combo: Collector plus location where cards played adds a copy to opponents hand

I've been playing this a lot. One of my favorite decks involves killing cards to power them up. I have some sword-fighters (Blade, Sword Master, Lady Sif) to kill Apocalypse and Swarm while they're still in my hand, and Carnage and Deathlock to kill cards on the field. Lots of fun.

I have another deck I really enjoy that's just about moving cards around a lot. Vulture makes this a blast.

Just hit gold for the first time. Level 42 collection level 760 or so.

I'm having a lot of fun with a movement deck.

I love seeing that someone is powering up an Apocalypse, spreading my cards wide then moving everything out of the way when they drop a high-powered Apocalypse on a location with just a Multiple Man left on it.

I also really love mirror matches. It's fun to duel with another Movement player and see how the different card draws, locations and strategy play out.

I do have a few others I play every now and then, but movement is my favourite.

I love the chaos of the game. Sometimes a bad draw and a couple of poorly placed locations can kill a match, but I don't find it frustrating.

I was able to get a Negative deck to high 70s last season, but it started losing immediately this season. Not sure what changed but a movement deck has been pretty successful. Although it can be really predictable especially if Hemidal is your only late game play.

One really fun deck I made is a location manipulation deck. It has Quake, Scarlet Witch, Storm, and Professor X.

Just beginning to hit my groove. Collector level 299. I’m not a great deck builder. Any suggestions or a link to a good list of decks to try?

Great game. Seems to borrow generously from the physical card game SmashUp

Heimdal is the obvious last play, but where you put him can have a big impact. And it's fun to see when they are getting ready to counter him and then drop a couple of low cost cards in other spots. I like dropping a Dr Strange with an enhanced Vulture or Multiple Man in play.

And sometimes the play doesn't work out and that's fine too.

That also does sound like a fun deck. I think I need to put a Scarlet Witch in my movement deck, sometimes the game throws a very awkward location in.

Hiding Ebony Maw behind Invisible Woman works very well.

Just unlocked Arnim Zola and dropped him in my Jubilee-centric deck. MAYHEM! I had 5 fully loaded Devil Dinosaurs thanks to a location synergy.

My Heimdal movement deck has been pretty reliable, but I keep a few odd ducks in there for a bit of oompf, in particular Hulk-Buster, who hopefully joins up with Multiple Man.

Late last night, though, I had just about an ideal Apocalypse match with Sinister London as a location, as opposed to my opponent running a very similar deck. The 2 Gambits managed to both discard him, the 2 Lady Sifs obviously weren't going to miss, and then the 2 Colleen Wings also got him because by that point, he was the lowest cost card in my hand, so in the end my 2 32 power Big 'Pocs were more than enough for their 2 12s and the Swarms they'd accrued over the match.

EDIT: For my XIV chat crew, many of whom are also playing this, I commemorated my last match in the form of haiku:

Iron Man gets played
"Snap?" my opponent demands
Rogue forces escape

Thank you Mr. Devil!

I knew there'd be a thread for this good job.

Downloaded and started playing last night... And oops where did that hour go!

Seems like a lot of fun.

I crossed over collector level 1000 today. Still waiting for Dracula to really make my Discard good...

This game is seriously fun, so many different deck types.

I've had some suspicious matches recently. One match I wasn't drawing cards and I lost 8 points even though I obviously wouldn't have snapped and another one my opponent played 12 energy worth of cards on turn 6 and I couldn't tell how.

I hate to automatically assume cheating, but I think it's cheating. I'm sure there is a market for accounts with all the cards unlocked.

I’ve really only had one inexplicable match but it was last night, my opponent played the same card twice in the last round despite there not being any cards or locations in play that could have duplicated it or randomly summoned a copy.

I've just picked up Mister Negative (swap power & cost of all cards in your deck -- so I can make some cards cost 0) and Jane Foster / Thor (draw all cards with cost 0), and I'm trying to build a deck around that. Been tricky so far, though. Either you have to get the draws in exactly the right order for the deck to work well, or I don't have enough other good cards to fit this, yet.

My Mr. Negative Deck has Adam Warlock, Angela, Psylocke, Iron Heart, Bishop, Venom, Wolfsbane, Jubilee, Iron Man, Blue Marvel and Jane Foster. I have swapped cards around some but that deck has been the most succesful. Forge, Gambit, and Nakia were good in it too. I did have Mr. Doom in it at one point since he is the only 6 cost card that has a lower power to cost.

The perfect turn 1 pull is Psylocke, Mr Negative, and Jane Foster + any card that doesn't have 0 power. Play Psylocke on turn 2, then Mr. Negative, then Jane on turn 5. The perfect pull never happens. If Jane is still in the deck when I play Mr. Negative I will play Adam Warlock where ever he is useful just to get more negative cards in my hand. If I don't have Mr. Negative by turn 3 or 4 then I'll play Jubilee and hope she pulls him. If nothing goes your way, you still have cards that sync well. Angela, Iron Heart, Wolfs Bane, Bishop and Blue Marvel are early cards that synergize stomp.

Arrgh I haven't been able to win a single match this morning...
