Not sure if this is the thread for this, but steam is giving away one steam deck a minute during the video game awards on December 8th. You have to register and watch the video game awards through Steam. More details here

Note that you just have to have the stream running - you don't actually have to WATCH it with your eyeballs.

This is absolutely my approach.

Mine too. But what happens if you win? I’m assuming there will also be an email or some notification in the Steam client?

There will be an email sent to whichever address is on file with Steam. That is stated in the rules. So you don't have to actually use anyone's eyeballs to watch it.

Unfortunately your region is not eligible for registration in the giveaway, but you can still claim the Steam Pal digital sticker.

Wooooohooooooo!

I don't know if you're in the allowed regions, but this is a common error when the server is busy. Just refresh for a while and it'll come up.

Free on Epic this week: Fort Triumph & RPG in a Box

Next week: Saints Row IV Re-Elected & Wildcat Gun Machine

The contest requires your account to be in the US, UK, EU, or Canada.

Actually my 64g model preorder just came through. Now I have three days to make the final decision.

The Yogscast has launched this year's Jinglejam. Donate a minimum of £35 and receive "85+" Steam keys to a whole heap of mostly indie games.

FYI, I dropped my duplicate keys in the giveaway thread.

Well I'm in the Steam video stream hoping for a deck. But holy crap I had to close the chat window. Just all kinds of nonsense, people claiming they won, people doing /claim and other weird stuff. And it's all moving 90MPH so you can't read any of it.

Silly show doesn't even start for 8 more minutes.

"Failed to load this broadcast"
We're off to a roaring start.

Well there's 800k people in here.

Much better than some contest odds.

Congratulations Milf Hunter, our latest Steam Deck winner....
LOL

Guess I'm lucky I even got connected and stayed in. Fired up at 730 when it said even though it was pre-show until 8.

Count went from 300k or so up to 800k, then seems to have crashed back down under 200k.

Anyway it's Thurs so free Epic games are up.

Saints Row IV Re-Elected
Wildcat Gun Machine

Then some mystery game in 6 days... so I guess they are doing 12 days of Christmas again?

I think they changed to showing the Steam id# instead, to avoid having to post some of the more interesting Steam names.

And also avoid confusion with shared names (?)

I can't tell if this is sarcasm or if that just happened ?!?!

It happened. I was there.

Yup. Literally the first winner I saw. Good times!

I'm in the UK and I have work so couldn't stay up past 2am to watch. I still left myself signed into the stream on my phone in the hope I was in with a chance dispite the incredibly small possibility.

Divinity Original Sin 2 cheapest price ever at Steam, $15 and change.

Ghost of a Tale is free on GOG.

And X-Com2 appears to be $2.99.

The Epic Game Store holiday sale is on, and they have a 25% off coupon (it did not appear automatically for me, I had to claim it from the website first).

Also there's a free game today, Bloons TD6. I've never heard of it and did not even bother to claim it, but the good news is that there's going to be another free game tomorrow!

Bloons is one of the better flash Tower Defense series.

Going to have to check out that sale.

Yeah Bloons is probably the best mobile tower defense. That one has already been free somewhere though, I'm pretty sure I have it.

Horizon Chase Turbo is allegedly going to be the free game tomorrow, and that's been given away once before.

Both very good games, but not big games, and it'll be interesting to see if Epic give away any blockbusters this year. I feel as though the landscape has changed since they first began giving away games. Via subscription services like Game Pass, PS Plus, Humble, Prime Gaming, et al, we are inundated with "free"(ish) games these days, so the Epic giveaways just don't stand out anymore.

You can get a lot of PC games at their cheapest price yet with the 25% Epic games coupon.

Well just added god of war and neo the worlds with end with you. Guess I'll be busy this weekend.

Just added Gotham Knights and FF7. For those prices I can bite.

In case anyone else is thinking about it, I couldn't get Gotham Knights to work on the Deck. Not just the wrong proton version but other errors. It didn't feel worth it so I returned it.
