NCAA Football 2022/2023 Season Catch All!

On the one hand, I do really love that Carl brings his engagement for his alma mater every season, and I'm happy for him that his team won their rivalry game.

But...

Storming (or politely walking) onto the field when both teams have losing records, and Cal has won the game 3 of the last 4 years.

Carl and Cal, the true spiritual owners of It Just Means More.

Y'know, after all of that, if the Hawkeyes beat Nebraska next week... guess who's back in the Big 10 Championship game?

Rushing yards:
463 to 335!!!

I'm not sure I've ever seen a 400+ yard rushing game before.
...and especially not one in which the opponent had anywhere near 300+!

Not sure whether this should go here or in D&D, but... uh....

How Colleges and Sports-Betting Companies ‘Caesarized’ Campus Life

I have... feelings! Many feelings!

Pain

For Tennessee perspective, this has to be some of the best overall success across the board of our major sports programs in my memory. SEC Basketball Champs. Lady Vols basketball getting back on track. SEC Champions in Baseball with much of the season at #1. Football surprisingly touched #1 in the CFP ratings when most in the fanbase considered 8 wins a successful year. A variety of smaller program championships I'd have to look up.

But the three main men's sports still found ways to cup check us fans at critical times of the seasons.

One of the radio station guys started calling UT Cup-Check U years ago. And we have an acronym for it all: BVS. Battered Vol Syndrome.

Fandom's great. Then it isn't. That's why sports are so interesting.

The FCS playoff bracket is out, and I'm glad to see W&M in there at No. 5. The Tribe is 10-1 (for the first time ever) after beating Richmond (boooo) on Saturday.

Perennial champ North Dakota State (the Bison have won nine of the last 11 titles) is a No 3 seed after losing only at Arizona (by 3 points) and at home to top seed SD State, which has won 10 straight since losing their opener to Iowa 7-3.

Undefeated and FCS #2 Seed Sacramento State, barely 80 miles from the Cal Campus, is coached by none other than former Cal QB Troy Taylor.

Guess who everyone at Cal is clamoring to be our next OC/Head Coach/whatever?

Also, Lane's commitment to driving Nick Saban insane is so deeply admirable.

EDIT: UVa vs. VT has been canceled. Entirely sensible, although I hope they can come together to do something as a memorial this year.

Someone pointed out to me today... Tennessee is having an amazing year in football, most folks are still extremely happy even with the second loss.

Bama is having one of the worst years in recent memory...

Same records...

Or not!

It's the altitudinal direction of the journey.

What a hell of a game. FU came out and played up to their potential and did not break like scUM. But, all’s well that ends well. FSU 2-0 vs the mighty SEC and the state champs of Florida. Now on to a bowl game

Thought FSU was going to blow it open after they went up 14 but still drama to the end.

FSU had 4 or 5 drops, the lizards had a couple too. Refs allowed pretty decent hand fighting between receivers and DBs and both QBs had a bit of big game nerves which meant bad balls on screens. Plus both teams went for big plays and lots of runs

Eight years for Matt Rhule? Like, I'm not saying he's going to fail, but has no-one learned anything?

Go Cards! Beat Kentucky!

SAKERLINA Y'ALL

I'd by lying if I said I wasn't enjoying what is happening to Ohio State.

It's ridiculous, but my God, Alabama's got genuine way into the CFP now.

lol Muah hahaha

J/K we didn't do what we needed to this year. Getting in is luck or a fluke at this point.

The agents have learned how to extract money from desperate AD's and college presidents.

Colorado has reportedly offering a jo to Deion Sanders. Well, let's see what they've got going on there right n....

f*ck

Satterfield better figure out how to rival. This is goddamn embarrassing

No, no, no. You nearly got doubled up at home OSU, you don't get into the playoff now, not unless some more losses happen.

Outscored em' 28-3 in the final 1 1/2 quarters, without completing a pass!

So with OSU losing if both LSU and USC lose does that open the door for Alabama to be the 4 seed?

Tedford and Fresno are 2-0 against FBS teams since this hateful slander was posted.

Tedford and Fresno are now 7-0 against FBS teams since this hateful slander was posted.

The 1-4 Bulldogs are now the 8-4 Bulldogs, and playing against Boise in the MWC championship game next Saturday.

LOL, if A&M beats LSU, I think the top for becomes

Georgia
Michigan
TCU
USC

Whether OSU or Bama gets #5 becomes a coin flip, IMHO.

EDIT: Actually no, it probably goes to Ohio State, which means they still could get into the playoff, hilariously.
