Weekly Drawing Prompt Thread

Very true. I'll work on that! Thanks!

Here's Page 5:

Only four left! I can do this!

Took a break from coloring The Foxhunt yesterday to do a couple of quick drawings that I'll use as title pages for the stories in the anthology:

Just a relatively simple drawing from me this week:

Love it!

Here's a couple more drawings for the title pages I did after dinner last night:

I really like the bottom pic of the creature coming out of the water.

It was SO MUCH FUN to draw!

And a couple more from yesterday:

Only one left!

And the seventh one is done!

Now back to coloring The Foxhunt! Only four pages left!

Gah! I have so many maps to finish!

But here's one I made earlier, which i can post now...

I really like it!

Page 4 of The Foxhunt is colored:

Changed a couple of things...

Beautiful as always, Pyxistyx. I'm curious, as maps appear to be a significant portion of your illustration work, do you consider yourself now a professional fictional cartographer?

And you seem to be having fun creating a neon lightscape for your chase scenes!

Meanwhile, I've created another entry in my "characters with wings that could break a man's arm" series:

It's certainly how I am currently branded, though I balk at calling myself anything like an actual Cartographer because I have NO idea about, like, ACTUAL Cartography! But yeah, that's how I market myself on the social medias and what 95% of my commissions are for. I'm contracted as a freelancer to a couple of fairly big-ish name companies for the occasional map now as well, R Talsorian Games (Cyberpunk Red) and Pinnacle Entertainment Group (makers of Savage Worlds, Deadlands, etc).

I just discovered the subreddit for Wonderdraft, the fictional map making tool. Seems pretty interesting.

I am having SO MUCH fun!

Also, your drawing is awesome, as usual, Ravanon.

Also, I was very productive today:

Only two pages left!

This Thanksgiving break was exactly what I needed to get things done!

One page left!

And Page 1 is done!

IMAGE(https://i.imgur.com/JE6Rv0M.jpg)

I can't believe how productive I've been over the past few days! Nothing like not having to go to work to really get some work done.

I also changed some colors on Page 3 to preserve chromatic continuity, but you'll have to wait to see that until the whole anthology comes out.

Now, I just have to do the cover. I can't believe how close I am to being done with this project!

We are going to have to rename you, wait for it...
WonderMario... no.
BatMario... no.
Marioman... no.
The Mario... no.

Hmmm, Super Mario? ;P

That made me laugh out loud.

I just spent the past couple of hours drawing the cover. I thought I would have to work in stages around multiple interruptions (as I usually do), but my dogs surprised me by allowing me a blissfully uninterrupted stretch of time to draw today. (Samira jumped on my arm exactly after I finished inking --it was almost as if she was keeping track of my progress!) And, lucky for you, I took some pictures of the process:

Now I just need to color it! Will it happen today? I guess we'll see...

The cover is finished!

Now I just need to put together some "bonus materials," and the anthology will be ready!

Well now I'm curious as to what you're planning.

Another random drawing from me this week:

Honestly not wholly satisfied with how this one came out, but time to move on to the next thing, I think.

Well, friends, the time has finally come --Stories, vol. 1 is ready for you to read! You can download it here.

You've already seen all the pages and read all the stories, but now you have the whole thing collected in one nice pdf file. How convenient!

So read it again! Tell your friends! Share the link! And, above all, enjoy it!

I can't believe it's finally finished! What am I going to do with all this free time now? Maybe I can play some of the games I've been neglecting all year!

Anyway, here's the finished cover:

IMAGE(https://i.imgur.com/LORj0xi.jpg)

(Big difference from my last post, I know.)

Thanks for the year-long support! I'm taking a little break, and then it's time to start volume 2. No rest for the wicked!

Downloaded!

Enjoy!

Needed a change of pace from commissions so finished up map 14 in my Fighting Fantasy gamebook series!
This one has a few things to track as you play through, so I added appropriate checklists. I'm particularly fond of the little Dragon statuettes.

Artifacts? Or is that an olde timey spelling?

'Artefacts' is authentic olde timey... by which we mean 'British' (though, to be fair, a lot of people would spell it with an 'i' here too).

As for the map itself, great as always—and I think I remember this one. The one where you don't want to search too thoroughly! Ah, imagine doing that in a modern game...

Love the map, too. You have a true gift for those. Have you ever done a submission for the one-page dungeon contests?
