RIP Hagrid (Robbie Coltrane)

Robbie Coltrane, actor best known as Hagrid in 'Harry Potter' films, dies at 72

Robbie Coltrane, the veteran Scottish actor who gained worldwide acclaim as Rubeus Hagrid in the "Harry Potter" film series, died Friday at 72.

Coltrane’s agent Belinda Wright said he died at a hospital in Scotland. She did not give a cause.

The actor, born Anthony Robert McMillan, appeared in dozens of films and TV shows, but is perhaps known best to "Harry Potter" fans as Hagrid, the good-natured half-giant groundskeeper of Hogwarts and a mentor to Harry as he navigated the wizarding world.

Not Sergeant Godley!

RIP.

Someday it's going to be too painful to watch those movies. Alan Rickman already makes it tough. When Maggie Smith is gone....

You're a wizard Harry. I always get this actor mixed up with the actor that plays Hodor. JK might be stanky but the actors in her movies are wonderful. May he rest in peace.

He was also a great comedian.

For me, he was Fitz.

Oh boy, that series Cracker hit home with me back in the days. Rewatch every four years or so.

No love for The Pope Must Die and Nuns on the Run??

Actually he was one of the ones fully on board with JK's "opinions".
