What are you playing this weekend?

Same

Still going strong. Also dad nap.

Picked up Dying Light from a Steam sale. It's got me hooked. Yeah, I know, I'm a wee bit late to the game. Please don't judge this senior citizen.

Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord, and maybe also some Ooblets.

I'm ending the Outsider in the appropriately named Dishonored 2: Death of the Outsider.

Going strong with 13 Sentinels!

10 hours in. It's a great "before bed" game. The plot reveals are coming thick and fast, I have NO idea how they'll sustain this level of plot velocity (?) for another 20 hours. I've not played anything like it. While I don't typically enjoy visual novels, moving about and figuring out how to reach each branching path is just enough gameplay to keep me going. Funnily enough, I thought I'd love the combat sections but I'm constantly putting those off to keep going with the story.

Ys IX for the JRPG club.

It's definitely not as good as Ys VIII. The setting is dull and exploration doesn't carry the same amount of weight. There is a mystery here just like VIII, but it so often focuses on mundane city activities and sub-stories of the people within that I don't care for.

Despite that, the bosses are incredible and a real highlight for the series. I'm loving the action, but just wish it the story:dungeon ratio leaned more towards the latter.

This weekend's looking like some Xenoblade Chronicles, Tengai Makyou Zero, and Solatorobo. Again.

I just reinstalled Tomb Raider II (PC), so I will be playing some of that. Also Persona 3 Portable (PSP) (just made it to November).

I'll probably try to make some progress in Ys VIII and New World, but i'm feeling a bit restless with the games I'm currently picking at so I may randomly decide to start something totally new.

Finishing up Wolfenstein: The New Order. Really enjoying this game. Also playing Tactics Ogre: Reborn. Just started it this morning. I have never played a Tactics Ogre game before. Looking forward to putting some time in.

Trying out hot wheels unleashed as it was on ps plus and probably some multiversus.

Hopefully more Divinity OS2. We’re approaching the end I think. It’s nice to be on a different landmass at least. I also want to press on with Darkwood.

Still going strong with Mario and Rabbids Sparks of Hope

I've started in on Realms of the Haunting and will continue with that oddly charming mess of a 90s shooter/FMV/adventure game combination.

Fresh off of finishing Pillars of Eternity, I'm going to give Baldur's Gate (enhanced edition) another try. I've tried once before, probably a decade or so ago, and didn't make it past the mines early in chapter 2.

Probably more Against the Storm, with a healthy smattering of Persona 4 Golden and Potionomics.

Still playing Dying Light and loving it. Seems to be my goto and unwind game these days.

Although, I also jumped back into Atom RPG for a more slower experience. The constant action of Dying Light sometimes requires me to take a chill pill.

I'm kinda on three games right now. In no particular order:

1. Baldur's Gate 2: Enhanced Edition - Steam. Multiplayer with my 18/19yo kids. We need to get better about being somewhat strategic rather than rolling up into a room of duergar and just getting MESSED UP.

2. Smashy Road 2 - iOS. This is a surprisingly good follow-up to a game that I really enjoyed as a mobile distraction. I resisted switching to the newer game because I thought it was going to be overwhelming, with several dimensions of game management to balance. It is relatively complicated for my tastes, but there are so many little touches I like. I frequently find myself wishing I could pay to adjust difficulty, though; I really like the driving physics.

3. Polygon - Steam. This is a free-to-play FPS with a low-poly art aesthetic and impressive gun play. It only takes 1GB to install! I usually don't care for CoD-style games but this was a good quick fun time. I am straight-up horrible at it and I don't really mind. It could stand to have better skill-pegged matchmaking, but I think it probably doesn't have enough players to make that work well. Respawning is quick so getting shot in the face by someone from across the map who is several levels higher than me is okay (gear is both currency- and level-gated).

This is a great way to do it.

I remember trying to log in to the original Command and Conquer servers a year or two back and feeling like I was knocking on the boarded-up gates of a ghost town.

Deathloop and Persona 5

I've been getting back into Xenoblade Chronicles 2 this weekend. My daughter's been sick and just chilling out either in bed or on the couch, so I've had way more time than usual. It's rare that a game will capture this much of my attention for such a long time without ever feeling like work.

Every now and then I get an urge to play an MMO but after a few hours or days, I get really frustrated with them. What I've realised that is the Xenoblade games give me what I like about MMO's, removes most of the things I don't like, then adds a whole bunch more.

I started Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden last night, and I had a very good time. I'm sure I will get to a point when it gets too frustrating, but so far, so good.

I never found that point with Mutant Year Zero it kept a good difficulty curve and didn’t outstay it’s welcome. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Same here with Mutant Year Zero. The reviews make it sound horribly difficult but I didn’t find that. Well, there were some spots where I was clearly under levelled for a fight but I went away from those and returned later. Great game.

Very encouraging comments, bbk1980 and Higgledy! I hope this is my experience as well!

Their follow up game is a space squad game in a similar format.

I spent a lot of time playing God of War Ragnarok this weekend.
