Star Wars Misc. Catch-All

So I've been watching movies sometimes when my wife takes the kids out for events during work. Usually stuff I've seen dozens of times. BttF, Goonies, etc. lately. Last week and this week I watched the original trilogy, I think for the first time on Disney+.

Might have watched ANH sometime the last 2 years but definitely not all 3. So yeah, lots of changes, from the blu-ray release I guess?

I had the '07? or so DVDs with both original and special edition so that's what I usually watch. Generally don't watch the SE versions but remember a lot of the changes. But I have never seen the blu-rays and I guess not watched on D+.... so today I was absolutely floored when they added "No.... Nooo!" to Vader in the final battle of RotJ.

WHAT THE f*ck?

I guess I'm a few years late. But who in the world possibly thought that added anything good to that scene? And especially after how much Vader's "Noooooooo" was mocked in RotS. Why in the hell add another one?

And that scene was perfect. You know what he's thinking. No dialog needed.

I'm going to have to get out discs to show my kids the movies when it's time. Can't watch this crap.

Yup. So many unnecessary insertions.

Got caught up on Andor today. Might be my favorite live-action Star Wars ever.

What are they making in there?

He has no dog and he has no friends and his lawn is dying, and what about all those packages he sends?

I've been wondering why Dedra seems so familiar sometimes - turns out she's also the voice actress for Yennefer from The Witcher 3.

Her facial ticks/expressions are a beautiful thing to behold.

Watching this show sometimes feels like being in a vice that ramps up the tension up so slowly you barely notice what's happening. The next episode is going to be wild.

I think the most impressive thing about Andor is how it captures the banality of evil. The smiling, uncaring self interest of bureaucracy just “doing its job”.

It me, I'm that.

Dedra shouldn't wait around for the creepshow to try something.

No talk of the Tales of the Jedi shorts on D+?

Just finished them. Very good content that uses animation to fill in small stories behind the big narratives. Six sub 20 minute episodes.

Even had a Yaddle episode.

Don't want to spoil too much, but go watch these. Some good Ahsoka content mixed in.

Only saw the first one so far and loved it, can't wait to see the rest.

I missed that Yaddle was voiced by Bryce Dallas Howard.

Another banger of an Andor ep ... this 3-ep mini arc structure they've been using makes the show into a series of cool movies, tension and release wise.

So I delayed watching the last two episodes of Tales of the Jedi coincidentally until after watching the most recent episode of Andor and I feel like they all mesh together.

Edit: Also, Andy Serkis has been long overdue for recognition as a great actor but has been handcuffed by this bias against performance capture. Maybe and hopefully his role in Andor gets him the hardware he's due.

100%. Skaarsgard is knocking it out of the park, too.

On program.

Too soon.

Hmm, what was that thing they found on Luthen before he spoke to Saw?

*waves hand* Don't worry about it.

How long was Andor locked up? I thought it was odd his money was still hidden away. Would have thought a cleaner would have found it even if he was only locked up for a few days.

I think The Fondor might be my new favorite Star Wars ship. I want one.

SPACESHIPS HAVE LIGHTSABERS NOW?!

This universe has literal magic and this is the hill you wish to die upon?

I'm not objecting, I'm just wondering why I couldn't slice through TIE fighter squadrons 30 years ago.

30 years ago you only seen 4 or 5 of the thousands of ships in the universe. Or people didn't think how cool a lightsaber ship would be 30 years ago.
