NFL 2022: The Week 6 thread

Did Al just make a call out to the league on Snyder?!?

Another allegation of sexual assault against an NFL QB and if you guessed it's Deshaun Watson again, then you're right.

Why do Fields' big runs always have to happen on broken plays? Why does Chicago not use that run ability on purpose? Why is it not the basis of their entire offense?

That was awful

That's more than most people thought was going to be said about it tonight.

Woman Files New Suit Saying She Was Assaulted By Deshaun Watson

I mean, who could have seen this coming!?

Tom Brady fined for kicking Grady Jarrett. We must have been too flabbergasted by the blown call to notice.

Sounds like the Rams and Cam Akers are headed for a break-up.

Akers is currently working out away from the team, and McVay says the Rams are "working through some different things with Cam."

McVay said Friday that Akers is physically OK. He reiterated that the Rams are "dealing with things internally."

"[This is] kind of uncharted territory, and I think the biggest thing is, out of respect for the situation, want to keep it internal," McVay said.

Here in Baltimore, the D J Moore talk is really heating up. Some folks keep saying that if they trade for Moore, they won't be able to afford Lamar Jackson. I suspect that is true, but not for the reasons folks seem to think.

D J Moore has the potential to do for Lamar Jackson what Stefon Diggs did for Josh Allen (only less so since LJ has already been an MVP and Allen was truly mediocre before Diggs changed his life). Reflexively, Jackson can potentially turn Moore into a generational superstar as well when he has more than a system QB throwing him the ball for the first time in his career. Both would complement one another and could form the core of a true powerhouse, but such a combination would break the salary constraints of the Ravens who traditionally underspend on offense.

If the Ravens are expecting Stephon Diggs or Steve Smith Sr 2.0, they'll be disappointed.

DJM is not a take-the-top-off-the-defense guy like Diggs. And he doesn't have Smith's mean streak.

He's really a low-key good all-around receiver, more solid than flashy. He has decent speed and decent hands. He's a decent YAC guy. He's a decent blocker. He is often described as a RB who plays WR, and I think that's mostly true.

Part of the reason for his inflated value in Carolina is that the Panthers hadn't had a decent WR since Smith left nine seasons ago. The fact that Kelvin Benjamin, Brandon LaFell and Devin Funchess are 8-9-10 on the Panthers' all-time receiving yardage list tells you most of what you need to know about the Panthers' WR room over the years.

Also: DJM never seems to be open this season. I'm not sure if that's coverage, scheme or something else.

That said, I'd love to see what he could do with Lamar. He managed to get 1,100+ receiving yards three straight years with Teddy Bridgewater and Sam Darnold and a bunch of scrubs throwing him the ball. Pairing DJ and Lamar might be fun to watch.

You made me look up Jacksonville's 8-9-10.

Fred Taylor, Cecil Shorts (the third!) and Reggie Williams.

Keyshawn Johnson, James Wilder, and whoever the hell Gerald Carter is. Guess this has become the "historically bad team offense roll call" thread.

Schefty says Carolina is open to trading CMC and Robb(y|ie), but not Burns or Brown.

Didn't say anything about DJM or Shaq.

Pretty sure he was going for this:

CBS Sports names 4 teams sniffing around CMC: Bills, Rams, Broncos (lol), and... 49ers.

CMC is a glass cannon

Which is exactly the kind of RB Shanahan covets. From McKinnon to Breida to Mostert to Mitchell, they get the guys who put all their points in speed and agility, and used constitution as a dump stat. Shanny just rotates in the next one when one gets hurt. Zero surprise they would be interested in CMC.

Question is if they have the draft capital available to do the deal.

Shaq.

Rumor mill coughed up the Patriots.

All the vultures better get to work quick on the corpse that is the Charlotte football franchise. Trade deadline is Nov. 1.

Taysom Hill has one good game and the NFL talking heads are acting like the last 2 seasons didn’t happen.

And when Lamar has a bad game they act like he wasn't unanimous MVP.

I wonder what the difference is between those two mobile QBs? Aside from the fact that Lamar throws and runs better than Hill that is...

Lamar is better at hiding the football?

Tired of West Coast teams being sent to Eastern time for 1pm games. Play the sh*t at 4 or primetime if you must

Get a real time zone already.

And 14 quick points to tie it up for Niners

Very annoyed this Giants team is competent enough that I have to start paying attention post-October 1st again. My Sundays used to be free!

Packers might just be bad. So maybe I can just ignore them which would be nice.

Both the Packers and the Bucs look damn terrible today.

Niners just aren't the same when half their starting lineup is out.

Team needs a bye week in the worst way.
