He died of a heart attack while visiting a friend. He was 59. Man. What a talent.
I just remember the impact he had in the 90's, but yeah, he was not a stupid man. Seems like he had a pretty good life. But I did love a bunch of his songs.
I'm not hugely knowledgeable of his music career, but he had a great cameo in Space Above and Beyond.
I first learned of Coolio with Fantastic Voyage, and distinctly recall recording it off the radio onto a few mixtapes with one of these:
