The whole deal with Lightyear that they had a same-sex couple kiss in one scene and that was enough to send conservatives into a mouth frothing rage.

They're also pissed that Tim Allen isn't in it.

And I'm annoyed they let that Trumper asshole stick around for Toy Story 4.

Thanos' Dad is cooler than The Tool Man anyway.

I don't know which streaming thread people were using to talk about Prey, but in the UK it's on Disney plus. It was really good. I'm a bit of a defender of Predator 2 and Predators, but this was better. The stripped down format really works, and I think they really sold how

Spoiler:

Naru was really observant and insightful about the Predator's behaviour and how each of its weapons worked to beat it

Prey is definitely one of the better movies I've seen this year.

Why is it that the Simpsons' shorts on Disney+ Day always steal the show?

Wednesday!

I watched the first couple of episodes of The Old Man. Slowish start but it’s very good. There’s one moment when I nearly quite but I’m glad I kept watching.

I've been watching The Orville on Disney+. Not quite sure why it's on here, but I'm not complaining.

Made it through the 1st season thinking this is pretty good. Then I made it to a two-parter in the middle of season two and all of a sudden- HOLY CRAP!! This is amazing!!

Wait until you get to season 3.

What he said. It just keeps getting better.

There seem to be a few Hulu shows on D+ lately. Maybe trying to get users to expand for that few extra bucks a month?

Probably just consolidation. D+ already was doing the international releases of it.
Either way season three was just amazing. My only complaint was the new character. While I understood it served a purpose in the season arc, she was super annoying and very one-dimensional (ironic given her "specialty"). She felt more like a recurring guest star than a regular member of the crew.

They’ve been on in the UK for the last couple of years - Hulu isn’t available here. I guess Disney negotiate hard?

Or do they own Hulu along with everything else now?

Disney owns Hulu.

Yeah they're always trying to sell Disney, Hulu, ESPN+ bundle here in the US. So that's what I meant by Hulu sampling, trying to get D+ only users to add it.

Willow | Special Look | Disney+
Looks great! I can't wait.

Dang I am so in for this.

Official Clip | Disenchanted | Disney+

I am so excited about Disenchanted it's silly.

I was like, wait, there's already a show with that name, but it's Disenchantment.

The first two episodes of Willow are up! I know what I will be watching tonight!

Willow

Is it just me or is the prince a spitting image of Val Kilmer as Jim Morrison in The Doors?

I'm loving Willow. That was on a lot in my childhood. I'm getting lots of feels. Not sure if the show is just good in the right way, or if my nostalgia goggles are on tight, but I'm here for it.

I know I saw Willow sometime in the 80s, but it doesn't stick in my brain like some movies like The Neverending Story, Labyrinth and Ladyhawke do. Everything I recall from it is can be seen in the thumbnail of the trailer- the title and what the main character looks like.

I may give it a shot, but maybe I should watch the movie again first. How's it hold up 30 years later?

Isn’t Willow the movie that the Lord of the Rings ripped off the idea for the Hobbits from?

Spoiler:

Kidding! I LOVED Willow when I was a kid. Rewatched it a ton. I’m thrilled the show is getting good reviews.

It's denser than you would think. Rewatch it. Lots of call backs and easter eggs.

I watched it a few weeks back. It's not too bad but hasn't aged well in places.

The first episode of Willow is a whole lot of fun basically. So far as good.

I've caught the first two episodes so far and I'm enjoying it a lot, but I'm not a fan of what they've done to set up the story, particularly to Sorsha (and by extension Madmartigan, though we don't know his story yet so we don't know if he supported what she did or not).

Spoiler:

I haven't watched the movie recently, but I could have sworn she and Madmartigan promised to raise Elora as their own child. Keeping her true identity secret from her wasn't necessarily a bad idea, but assuming Sorsha was right and Elora wasn't actually needed to keep evil at bay, what was their ultimate plan for her? To have the Princess Elora Danan spend her entire life serving her and her children as a palace maid. That seems like an exceedingly petty and jealous thing for them to do. Sorsha was also a major dick toward Willow in that flashback, which wasn't very cool either.

Consider Sorsha's upbringing. Promising to raise Elora as her own child should have come with a warning label.
