NCAA Football 2022/2023 Season Catch All!

Bow down to Washington.

It's USCw good? Or did Fresno take a step back?

Well, Jake Haener got carted off the field and the Fresno offense pretty much died when that happened. But Fresno's defense really couldn't tackle USC's ballcarriers either.

Sounds like Haener "only" suffered a high ankle sprain. Injury looked like a season-ender when it happened. They're trying to downplay how much time he'll miss, but playing on a high ankle sprain doesn't usually have great results...

gods my Terps tried hard to give that game away.

Carl, Cal played well. I like their QB and their two RBs. That phantom offsides call that gave ND another chance after a missed FG was BS and tough luck.

Was a frustrating game to watch between two mediocre teams (too much credit?)…but I loved it because, you know, college football!

Nice header pic! I'm not sure how App State is going to top Saturday. It took 'em 15 years to top the Michigan win. Now maybe if the ACC needs a football/wrestling school ...

A buddy said that we should replace GT after they got embarrassed and shutout by Ole Miss yesterday.

But they’re your smart school!?

I was at the A&M - Miami game last night. It wasn't pretty, or reassuring, but it was a win.

The Terps managed 134 yards in penalties including four false starts on third and short in their own stadium. Despite winning it, it was still a shameful display of grabasstic disorganized bullsh*t.

GameDay going to Tenn next week. But Kansas and Duke 3-0, that hasn't happened since before GameDay existed. Missed opportunity.

Being at the game I didn’t realize how egregiously bad that offsides call on the FG was until I read about it and saw some pics.

Cal’s final drive was one of the most ridiculously Cal things to happen. What we saw out of ND on that last drive is exactly what we expedt out of A Cal D at the end of a game, (except the final Hail Mary would have been caught against us).

As far as our offense goes, our QB didn’t look good from the stands. Yes out sieve of an offensive line meant didn’t help, but he couldn’t spot open receivers all over the field. His runs to get 1st downs, were great and totally unexpected, but his actual passing until that last drive was pretty poor outside of the one TD pass.

Wrong sport.

Knoxville will be crazy. Tennessee put 102K people in the stadium last night for AKRON. It will be crazy to see them attempt to beat the UF curse.

BTW, look at Joe Milton who transferred late to UT last year from Michigan. Won the starting job late only to lose it pretty quickly after last year's Pitt game for his inconsistencies and inability to not overthrow wide open receivers. Dude legit looks like an end rusher playing QB. Has crazy physical abilities yet just can't seem to put it together as a big time QB1 in major college ball. Has one more year of eligibility after Hooker leaves at the end of this season.

Look at this throw. He actually had two similar throws to the same receiver in mop up duty last night. I see why coaches try to get this guy as their starter, even if up until this point he hasn't delivered. Just effortlessly flicks the ball:

102k? I guess that's alright, but it's no 107k.

That's apparently the new capacity, although the old capacity always left room for 5K or so more people if they wanted to cram 'em in somehow. The put in a second video board with a party deck on the north endzone that took out a bunch of seats, and converted a bunch of the benches on the press box side to more modern seating and lost some capacity there. Will continue to cut down the capacity as more of that happens over time as they try to modernize.

Goal seems to be to get less seats, but make a bunch more off the number of people they cram in. I'm just waiting for my seats to get to the price where I stop buying them after having them in my family for probably 50+ years.

We've had a similar experience. I grew up going to every single A&M home game. When I was in my early 20s, my father had missed two home games in my lifetime.

We have good seats now, but not as good as before the overhaul of Kyle Field.

Mannish, y'all better curb stomp the lizards, they are not a good team.

Battered Vol Syndrome (BVS) makes me concerned after our history with Florida. Logically we seem better than they are this year, but our history with them on the field is not great, even when that's been the case in the past.

If Peyton Manning shows up in Knoxville, I'll really be nervous. Gameday better not get him as the guess picker.

(People think he's a jinx for all UT athletics. When he shows up, Tennessee seems destined to lose. He even took our baseball team down in the CWS last year and in Knoxville this year against ND. He attended both events.)

Herm Edwards out at Arizona State. Not enough playing to win the game, I guess.

True story... boarded my American Airlines flight yesterday to come home. Me and I'd say about 20-30 other Cal fans sat in there for about an hour or so hoping a mechanical issue was fixed. It wasn't, we all had to get off, get onto another plane.. and ended up about 4 hours delayed. As I was exiting the plane I looked at it and noticed a very interesting livery... American Airlines introduced "Heritage Liveries" of old airlines that they consolidated over the years.. of course what livery was it?

Can't make this stuff up (look it up on Flightradar24 tail number N917NN, made it to Chicago, didn't leave for SFO).

Lol, the saga between the UC Regents and UCLAs unilateral move to become a jock school continues. As reported by someone who is in the meetings:

In a final nod to a board that may not be conversant in the semiprofessional world of major college sports, he noted that the increased travel contradicts the U.C. system's objectives of helping to reverse climate change

I want Cal to succeed in athletics... I want to see Cal in the Rose Bowl... secretly I probably want Cal to get the B1G invite... but I'll be honest... "Nerds Win" that just blows the whole thing up, or somehow forces UCLA to pay Cal is a close 2nd

I appreciate your pettiness, which is part and parcel with sports rivalry.

I support a team that's won double-digit games twice in last 30 years.. pettiness is all I have left.

13-0 up on the Hoos, and once again, I must ask.

Also, delighted to discover that our kicker, Andre Szmyt, is a seventh-year senior who won the 2018 Lou Groza Award.

HIS OWN STAFF WAS LEAKING TO OTHER TEAMS TO GET HIM FIRED?!

They leaked to lose the game.

Hello?!?

THEY LEAKED - TO LOSE - THE GAME!

If you are a Sickos fan, I cannot recommend watching Syracuse football enough. This game is a wholesale disaster and I couldn't be happier.

Cards up 21-0. I guess USF really sucks? We're so Jekyll and Hyde I don't know anymore
