Lou, I would love to go... Can we try setting up a nether portal as an escape route?

I've built one down there near enough to use as a base camp, but I'm not sure if portals would be useful for escape. For one, the city is tremendous. Any portal useful for escape may be close enough to attract the enemy, which also may not despawn if the area is unloaded by the server.

Specific strategy that has worked for me...

Spoiler:

Patience and quiet. Sneaking far enough away for the enemy to calm down (while staying in earshot) and waiting 60 seconds after they're calm has worked every time. You'll hear them go away. If they're sniffing, you're still too close. Also, for route planning they're 3 blocks tall...

I have used a 2 block tall blockade in soo many nether fortresses... lol

How many stacks of wool should I set aside?

3 or 4 should be more than enough for each person, if we want to leave resources which are already there alone.

Sounds like fun!

Got my iron farm running. Working on making it pretty and building an idle area.

I am AFK on the server occasionally these days. Hope that doesn't bother anyone. I use it to get my autofarms full up.

Sea Temple / Lantern farm is running at -447 / -160. Its a design from youtube where you stand up at 186 high and the guardians drop into the nether and fry.

The landing spots and nether collection points need work, but it works for now.

You can enter the temple from my portal and take the path down a long hallway lit with sea lanterns. You go up the ladder and go down the LONG bridge to the sea temple then climb to 186 (Stand on the glass). Stand up there while the guardians go to their deaths. Then climb down and go into the nether again. In the kill room there a chest that will have your sea lantern parts (shards and crystals) and a million fish).

The ladder is tall so don't fall off... not that I did that.

Sweet, I literally killed off the guardians at another place last time I was on for more than a minute. Now I don't need to do anything but steal sponges.

I shored up the ladder with glass. You won't fall off now!

Lantern Farm/Temple Entrance is now without a giant ladder and a much shorter tunnel. You still access from the tunnel off my nether portal and go up the ladder. You'll end up near where you stand on the glass and wait for a while. Then go back in the portal and down the small ladder and access the room at the end of the tunnel and get your lantern parts for assembly. You will also get a ton of raw fish and some ink sacs.

Found 2 end cities so far... no boat... clearing out the second one tonight... I'll get a location.

We do seem to be getting unlucky with the cities. Maybe we should kill another dragon and open up another angle.

When in doubt: More Murder.

Moreder, if you will.

Manta (I think), you were so close. You built a bridge to the right island and somehow missed the city and ship.

I have elytra now. I'm going to enchant them up, then I'll start working on getting more.

You are so right.

By the way, someone asked whether shulkers respawn the other day. I answered, 'no,' which is true but incomplete.

When an open shulker is hit by a shulker bullet (even its own), there is a chance that it will teleport and a new, full health shulker will spawn in the vacated space.

You should do that like 1000 times and get us all shulker boxes

Funny you should mention that. I ended up getting four elytra (including the one I'm using) and about 30 shells. The shulkers hit hard enough that I burned through my food supply and had to withdraw.

I marked the four end city ships on the map (as well as some shipless cities). I got pushed off of one when I ran out of food. I failed to get the dragon head from that one. None of the cities have had their shulker population wiped out.

I figured I'd donate a set of elytra to an intrepid warrior who'll go and get more elytra for the server. I think the person I'm looking for is Manta, but maybe it's Paint? My crew needs three total (me, DuckLucy, agl_buttons), so I'm in the black already.

The elytra are at our base in the chest marked 'Treasures'. Feel free to grab one, as long as you're planning to get more. I haven't enchanted the spares yet, but there are Unbreaking III and Mending books to spare down by my villagers.

I have never been good with Elytra. All I can do is fall off the world.

I was able to get elytra and a decent number of shells before I logged off the other day, but I'm travelling for work and don't have minecraft on my government issue laptop...

I didn't clear the shulkers out at 3233, -2464 as I was out of arrows and running low enough on food I should stop falling so far. I think it is mostly clear of loot though. When I get back I intend to drop the gear somewhere useful... either spawn or the entrance to the end...

I can explore more later, but right now I want to leave the end... (walked for a fair bit ended up in circles) and reorganize, repair, restock... then I can work on stuff again.

Getting a "Lost Connection" error on the server atm: "SocketException:Connection Reset". Is this a server problem, or has my workplace finally blocked the port that Minecraft uses?

I am able to join without problem.

Sorry, Feegle, the man is on to you.

Works now. Could have been a blip at some point.

There's an XP farm in the End. Just follow the sign.

The endermen fall from a height which leaves with about half a heart. Punch then or attack them with a weapon or tool. A few will teleport to the bridge as they fall, but they'll still take the fall damage so they'll be easy to kill.

Most pearls will be collected and ejected into the void. If you want pearls, flip the lever under the sign. You can then grab pearls from the hoppers. Flip the lever back when you've gathered enough.

Also I have a bunch of beehives full of bees if anyone needs/wants.

I found a skeleton spawner and setup a xp/bone farm. To get to it you just need to go in my basement take the water elevator down and follow the bone path. There are several areas down there that have slime spawns as well. One area is marked with SC in torches. Also a zombie spawner off the one corridor marked with a large XP.

Random request.... Anyone have say 200 sets of random armor for a project?!

What you don't all just have that stuff laying around? Well, if you get bored and want to help fill in my stadium outside my house drop some armor off on any of the armor stands in the crowd. I do have zombie and skeleton xp farms running in my basement (at bedrock level) that I'll be taking armor from, but it's a huge project and I'm lazy!

I've got 6 worn bits of armor I'll drop off.

We have a fair bit of old armor, and we can easily get more. We just got a skeleton farm going, and that will produce even more.

Since I finished my football field at my house, I needed a new project. I started a Blaze spawner. I gave up for a bit after being knocked off into lava one too many times. I'll get back to it when I can though. I build tunnels from my nether portal to it. I'll probably slap some doors up in the meantime to make a blaze killing cage match room at least.
