Welcome folks, and happy “137th Anniversary of the invention of the motorcycle” week!

In 1885, Gottlieb Daimler, the German engineer and inventor, was trying to find transport applications for the newly-invented combustion engine. He developed a motorcycle before making a 4-wheeled car. Once Daimler got into 4-wheeled vehicles, though, that’s where he stayed, and the company he founded was the precursor of Mercedes-Benz today. You may all celebrate by playing a game with awesome cars but the motorbikes handle like runaway eggbeaters.

This week is mostly ports, DLC and repackaged old games, rather than anything super new.

The Last of Us Part I comes to PS5 this week. Maybe fans will want to have another go around while they wait for the TV show to come out.

LEGO Brawls is a port of the mobile fighting game. It’s Super Smash Bros brawling, but because it’s LEGO, you can really customise your character and weapons. Also because it’s LEGO, the weapons are mostly goofy—like a fish or carrot. It’s got NINJAGO pieces, though, so there will be swords and whatnot. It’s family-friendly brawling with no predatory pricing.

Commandos 3 - HD Remaster remakes this notoriously hard WW2 RTS game with stealth elements. The models and textures have been completely remade, the tutorials improved, and an easier difficulty setting has been added. Hopefully the tweakable difficulty will make it more accessible for folks who want to see what inspired the more recent spate of RTS games like Desperadoes and Shadow Tactics.

Destroy All Humans! 2 - Reprobed is a glow-up of the cult 2006 alien mischief game. Destroy All Humans! was remade a few years back, and this remake of the sequel has the same issues: the graphics and gameplay are polished up nicely, but it’s still a PS2-era game. The humour was already stale on its original release, so it’s probably even groanier now. Plus, I seem to recall that Crypto (your character) is, weirdly, way hornier in this game.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection is Konami reheating some vintage arcade games.

Otherwise, there’s expansions for Back 4 Blood and Aliens: Fireteam: Elite.

There’s nothing on my radar this week, so I’ll give a default GOTW to LEGO Brawls. It’s LEGO. It’s brawling. Let the kids win and you’ll be fine.
