The thread for movies that aren't going to get their own thread but are still in theaters

I did like the ending of T3. The rest of the movie was... fine, I guess.

The original Terminator is one of my formative movies and easily one of my favourite films, T2 is brilliant I just happen to prefer the first. All I remember of T3 is the crane chase which was sweet and after that the franchise is just bad in my opinion..

I enjoyed Sarah Connor Chronicles, too.

Probably the best thing since T2. But again just making more timeline logic problems.

Always felt like Sarah Connor Chronicles had no idea where they were going. The finale just confirmed that belief.

'Member when the Terminatrix stuck her magic R2D2 hacking finger in the steering column of the car she was driving and could somehow control every other car on the road too?

Nanomachines, son.

They were constantly fighting for renewal, so that's probably true.

Right? So good.

Watched Dual and liked it. This is a dark comedy. I didn't laugh at all but was entertained by the movie. So in this world people can clone themselves if they are about to die. There was another movie with the same idea with the new guy playing Blade. So the protagonist clones herself when she finds out she will die soon. After sometime has gone by it turns out she isn't going to. The law doesn't allow for healthy people to have clones so one of them has to die. In a year the clone and original person will be forced to fight to the death.

This is a odd world where no one acts like a normal person. The protagonist does this to a extreme but everyone else has the same deadpan response to everything but only to a lesser degree.

I seen some reviews of people being confused by the ending and not being sure who survived. I think they were overthinking things or fell asleep during parts of the movie. It is pretty clear to me who survived. The clone isn't a perfect copy. For the clone has different colored eyes and doesn't know how to drive.

I don't think many people will like this movie but I give it 8 out of 10.

Samaritan was decent. Stallone did well as the brooding aged super, and Pilou Asbaek was excellent as the anarchic villain. The kid was a little whiner, but ... that was the character, so it worked. The twist was predictable but fit the story and the end was satisfying.

The dump discussion near the end....hah.

Watched The Northman and loved it. I actually thought it was going to be a comedy. This was a a gritty brutal movie. Wish I seen it in on the big screen because it was beautiful. The director of The VVitch and The Lighthouse directed this.

Everyone does a great job but Nicole Kidman knocked it out of the part. Took me a bit to recognize her. There were a bunch of big names in this. Queen Gambit lady, True Blood vampire, Green Goblin, Bork and more being all Viking like.

I love how there are no good people in this movie. Everyone is like how dare you kill my family and people. Then the same people murder, rape and enslave people.

The movie is long but it never got slow for me.

I give this movie 9 corpses I leaving at the gates of Hel. That is Hel with one L. Vikings can't spell. I can't spel eiither.

Sorry if this is a skim but why can’t I find anywhere to watch Clerks 3?

It's first being screened in assorted Quick Stops across the tri-state area. /s?

Yeah it was in theaters for a week. I thought ok I'll go see a matinee during kids nap on my birthday last week. But nope it was only showing one show per day at 7pm every night. So crowded with people no thanks.

Guess I'll watch it at home eventually

Isn't Kevin Smith touring with the film before it opens up wider? Or is that step over and done with?

Watched Three Thousand years of Longing and liked it. For some reason people were expecting a fantasy fury road because the director directed the mad max movies. He also directed happy feet and babe in the big city why not expect it to be like one of them then. The movie is a adult fantasy about love and being careful what you wish for.

The movie has the with witch, black superman, and a woman that isn't beautiful she is beauty itself. I loved the cast and acting. Many people didn't like the special effects but I dug them. I don't think they were going for realistic look. They were going for fantastical alice in wonderland, aladdin harry potter look, not a future wasteland look. I can see why people wouldn't like it though.

I wasn't bored but it could have been shorter. I liked the ending but it could have been more complexed. The ending comes really fast but I guess that is inline with stories being told. Oh the movie is mostly stories from the genie's 3 thousands years of longing for spoilers.

I give the movie 9 wishes out of 10. Most people probably won't like it though.

Watched "See How They Run", which is a Whodunnit set around the production of The Mousetrap. We really enjoyed it, but it's that kind of self-referential meta thing that puts some people off. It had a great cast, and we thought it was fun.

I think it might actually open in October, Smith and some co-stars are doing a tour with one chain (I think Regal?). I saw it in Providence 2 weeks ago, he had Brian O'Halloran (Dante) and one other person on stage after for a Q&A. Not many questions got asked, but it was entertaining.

Have you seen "Noises Off", Dudley? Highly recommended.

Yes, I saw it at the time - I liked it but haven't thought about it years.

That always comes to mind with "meta connected with a play" comes up.

If you want to one up that, there is always "The Play Where Everything Goes Wrong".

"Noises Off" was chaotic enough. I can't even imagine how a stage production of TPWEGW would come into being ;P

I actually saw a production of Noises Off where an actor missed an entry by moments, so the actors just reset a few lines back and repeated, and then glared at them when they came on. The audience *loved* it and I realized how forgiving that play could be for an amateur company.

I started watching All Quiet On The Western Front on Netflix. It's really well done. One of the scenes where the Allies are advancing against the Germans is horrifying, but being based on a book that takes the glamour and glory out of war, very appropriate.

I wonder what the director could do with another war movie, Paths of Glory, although Kirk Douglas as Dax walking through the troops before an attack in one long take is absolutely iconic.

Don’t sleep on Weird: The Al Yankovic Story. It’s really good. There’s no post-credits scene but stay through the credits anyway for an original song about the credits.

Just saw Black Adam and it was pretty decent and enjoyable.
I think my wife summed up all of the nerd debate between DC and Marvel quite well:
"DC movies have great characters but little to not story telling. Marvel movies have much better depth and plot development."

The Rock was the Rock and you really can't help but enjoy watching him and root for his character. But he was outshone by practically every supporting and side character. And that is pretty much everyone: the boy, his mom, her brothers, Dr Fate, Cyclone, Atom Smasher, Hawkman, the villain.

The last 15 minutes had the most character development for Black Adam but the prior portions of the movie were interconnected special FX scenes. I think it was one of those movies that attempted to be a nonstop adventure with its pacing. But those movies don't work when the lead is effortlessly lethal and indestructible. It would be like the Fast and Furious movies if Vin Diesel got to drive a McClaren and everyone else rides clown tricycles. Kind of hard to make it interesting

Before it came out, I watched a YT video on similar DC and Marvel characters. So I had to keep reminding myself that Dr Fate was introduced before Dr Strange. And I had never even heard of Cyclone before but she was all kinds of badass. I had hoped Storm would have received the same treatment someday. Of note is that Storm has more powers at her disposal.

The final scene is the all-time greatest ever.

Nitpick. They weren't called Allies in WW1.
