Do you know when it was built?

Not sure! I will see if I can find out.

I guess my wife's great grandmother had it at the house and it was included with the house in Cannon Beach when they sold it to her grandma. There may have been some info on the back, but it got painted over... Probably came out of Portland is my guess given the family history.

We have a similar one we need to pick up from Southern Indiana at some point. Awesome piece of furniture.

Gaming table project update:
I have finished assembly of the lower section of the table. This included cutting a groove in the aprons and fitting the plywood panel, adding a reinforcement strip on the aprons to help support the arm rail (not really seen in the picture), the arm rail itself, and rounding over all of the sharp edges and corners.

I have the tabletop panels glued up but need to trim and smooth it. I also need to add a lip under the tabletop so it stays securely on the table frame. Once that is done, it's time for add finish which I'll be using tung oil and paste wax

So bought a Bosch router 1.5 years ago. Just pulled it out of the box for the first time and installed in the Rockler router table kit setup I bought and put together this week.

Hope to use it to build this storage setup for the cart its on. Router cart plans.

I need to get me a router table like that. Keep us updated on how well it works. I'd have a nice router for a while (maybe 6 years?) but never use it. I do use my smaller Dewalt battery palm router now and then, though.

Are you going to do the storage mods?

That looks great, man. I love the grain - that's really gonna pop.

Man, get some dust collection on there. Router tables make SO MUCH DUST.

Bep, once you get a few different bits, routers are just about my favorite power tool. Cutting a groove? Router table or handheld with an edge guide. Easing over corners? Palm router with a 1/8 roundover. Make two things line up? Flush trim bit. Inlay something? Palm router with a straight bit and do it freehand, finish with chisels. Making multiple identical parts? Make a template, cut close, flush trim/template bit on the table or hand held.

At this point, I've got a medium size one with a fixed and plunge base, a 3hp plunge that lives in the router table for now, a cheapo trim router that I got at a garage sale, and I wound up using it enough that I upgraded to a cordless DeWalt trim router.

For now I have a shop vac I can hook up when I use it, dust collection is on the list for the future along with a jointer and a thickness planer, lol. I also got a Ryobi battery router for "free" when I bought the battery kit (2 x 4ah batteries and a charger) for $99. I will be using the Bosch 1617 I have attached to the router table and the Ryobi router to build the shelves/drawer on the cart.

I would definitely go for the thickness planer before the jointer if you need to decide. I've had a lot of luck doing "good enough" jointing with a table saw jig. But there isn't really a similar replacement for the thickness planer.

Tacklife Digital Height Gauge. Seems nice for a router table or table saw:

I just bought a 5 piece set of 4" brass setup bars for now, figured that would be good enough to start with.

I've been wanting some 1-2-3 blocks and setup bars and may splurge on some decent ones. I think Stumpy Nubs has some he recommends.

Edit: Looks like he did a recent video about some accessories for them, too:

Links in the video description.

Yeah, those are on the list as well, I saw that video the other day.

I've been getting by with a set of brass setup blocks, and sometimes a set of digital calipers. I do want to get a digital angle gauge. Right now, I've got a bunch of bevel gauges which mostly work, but sometimes I want to have the actual angle, either for resetting a gauge I bumped, or if I need to figure out the complimentary angles.

First piece cut and attached to stand, 29 to go, and no, I won't bore everyone with a picture of all 29 pieces/steps, lol.

Yeahhhhhh, forgot to hook up the shopvac when cutting the rabbit in the cupboard for the drawer for the router table cart. Lesson learned, big mess to clean up after cutting a rabbit in 4 sides of the the box.

Yup, done that. When it's my table saw, it just spews some dust on the floor, and drops a bunch inside the cabinet (where I can safely forget about it for ages). When it's the jointer, I figure it out when the chips clog the dust chute all the way up to the cutter head. When it's the planer, I remember about three seconds after the board goes in, and a jet of chips shoots out the back and covers the shop.

Got an itch to build something with my new to me Jet table saw. first real project. Still need to build drawers, attach the top, attach the trim, sand and paint it. Made with 2x4s and plywood mostly, except the top is butcherblock because I didn't want to deal with edge banding. Its an 18" x 36" writing desk for the living room for my wife to store/put her tablet, nook and charging cables.

Looks nice! But....no picture of the table saw!

Everything is on wheels as we park in the garage at night, so everything has to be mobile.

Maybe it's just me, but none of those links actually load, they just appear as not-text images. If you right click and open in new tab, it loads, but not inline.

They work for me, but then, they are being hosted on facebook, so maybe just facebook being stupid.

I've been waffling on casters for my workbench for months now. Did you go with anything specific for you work pieces?

The casters on the setup on the tablesaw and the ones on the dust collector came with, I bought them from a friend. The ones on the wooden carts I built were just ones I got at Menards/Home Depot. Though 1 of the carts the casters were different from the other 2 and they suck, always getting stuck. need to replace them, but have had other things more important to spend money on.

I've got 4" locking casters on my current bench, and whenever I finally get around to building a real bench, I'll put casters on it, but they'll be this style. The thing I hate about the casters I have now is that even when they're locked down, the bench slides if I'm using a hand plane. It's not the heaviest bench, but I think the real problem is that the casters mean there's only four little points of contact with the floor, so not all that much friction, and it slides.

The ones I linked flip all the way up, which lets the legs of the bench sit directly on the floor. That should mean a lot more friction and a lot less of me cursing at my bench.

So just an update, built and attached the drawer fronts(the holes are for the drawer pulls Mrs Rains picked out), attached the half-round trim along the bottom. Just need to sand and paint. Also, please let me know if I am over posting. Don't know proper etiquette for this and don't want to annoy people with my photos.

I like seeing the updates. Keep em coming.

Nice work too. (Sorry I lurk more than post.)

Yeah, definitely keep them coming. It looks great! How do you like the Jet dust collector? I'm looking at something along those lines as I move my stuff to the basement.
