What are you playing this weekend?

So far, Microsoft Flight Simulator Installation Manager. I'm looking forward to playing the game in another 10 GB or so.

Some say to this day. He is still downloading.

And playing Pinball FX. Latest table releases had Bride of Pinbot, which is so much fun.

Worth getting? Much better than FX3? What tables are currently available?

I used to be a pinball fanatic - even had my own table once (Weird Science) - and FX or FX3 looks like they'd be a pleasant late night distraction when I'm too fried for anything more involved.

It's not too much better than FX3 at the moment. It is in "early access." They typically do one big update a month. It has almost all the same tables as FX3 but the Marvel ones - guess they didn't get an extension on the license or those are still coming. They have stopped releasing tables on FX3.

The Williams tables look/play almost the same as FX3. In a recent update they updated the lighting, so they look better in that regard but not amazing. However with the most recent Williams tables releases/re-releases (Bride of Pinbot, Funhouse, Space Station, and Dr Dude) Zen really upped their game with getting the lighting just right. Bride of Pinbot has an amazing light show - particularly with ray tracing on. They have mentioned they're still working on lighting so hopefully they go back and apply the same techniques to the previous William table releases.

I normally don't go for the fantasy tables but the World War Z table they released is a hell of a lot of fun. For the most part it plays a lot like a real-life pinball table. But of course have the modes where zombies are walking across the table. Still a surprisingly great table.

At the moment FX is only on the Epic store. Can download it and check out for free. They have 2 free to play tables they rotate out each day - can play them as much as you want. They got rid of the 60 second demo from FX3. Not sure if this is better or worse.

For purchasing tables you have to purchase tickets, which everyone hates. But to be fair they have added a bunch of discounts into the purchases. The more tables you bundle together the larger the discount you get. So normally Bride of Pinbot is 60 tickets. I bunded Funhouse, Space Station, and Dr Dude together with it and that lowered BoP to 42 tickets. And each of those other table tickets were also reduced - think from 45 tickets to 21 (those three tables had a 33% automatic discount on top of that even). There is also a pricey monthly pass where you get all the tables (but Indiana Jones) but to me the pricing doesn't make any sense.

Worth checking out the app for the free rotating tables though.

But wait! The download finished!

And then, with some help from Google, I got my HOTAS working perfectly with it!

Neon White. This game is getting hard.

Hopping into Hitman (2016). I just love how they have let you upgrade and let subsequent games play the older ones. I am finally getting around to this on my PS5 in the Hitman 3 engine and having a blast.

I finished Citizen Sleeper (loved it), played some Chivalry 2 (loving it) and Medieval Dynasty (already hopelessly addicted).

I started playing Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen on a whim.

It's a silly janky game, but has some weird charm to it. I wish the pawns would shut up. We get it - you know that wolves are weak to fire.

Still, this seems to be an underdog gem, so I'll see it through.

I ended up finishing up trophies on the PS Plus re-release of Syphon Filter, played through Jill's game on Standard for Resident Evil: Director's Cut, and had a couple games of Baseball on Switch Online.

Nothing particularly spectacular but I had gotten tired of my docking computer in Elite Dangerous attempting to murder me.

Having a blast with Townscaper. It's not exactly a game, but for three euro's you can't go wrong with this one. Built your own Venice <3

Combat in my homebrew TTRPG system ;P
(very early alpha to test initiative and run combat numbers)
I am going to try and record it!

I want to kill God. I have no idea what game this translates to but I assume it is a jrpg. If I can't figure out which one I will just play kotor 2.

Probably an SMT game in there hehehe.

Xenogears works too.

Molyneux' Black & White comes to mind.

Dunno if it is playable nowadays - back then I bounced hard

You can kill "gods" many times over in any of the Diablo games

It is my goal to dig more into Citizen Sleeper. Again. And in such a way as to not be so tired I can't read the Switch screen... again.

I have been making a real attempt at Phoenix Point after bouncing off it at some point a year+ ago. That attempt, though, came right after finishing an ironman XCOM2 campaign, and I found the combat in PP really plodding. Playing it now, though, without that recent XCOM experience has been going much better.

I was in the mood for something shooty, so picked up Binary Domain. Also because I keep seeing people talk about it being a hidden gem/overlooked game. It's scratching the itch, so I'll probably keep up with that this weekend. No idea why I'm playing new games with my backlog being what it is.

Picked up Signal State on the steam sale, which looked like an interesting puzzle wiring game. The difficult ramps up pretty quickly which you don't really scratch the surface of from the available demo.

Not really sure what I'll be doing over the weekend since all the family plans have been changing in the last couple of days. If I happen to stay home, it will be some Tunic, Young Souls, and some Metroid: Dread for good measure.

I'm all in on Fell Seal: Arbiter's Mark with the JRPG/CRPG/Strategy clubs. I've also been messing around with Black Mesa some too since I just wanted to play a short shooter, and have been having fun with that. But Fell Seal is the higher priority game.

Same. So good. And free on Amazon Prime Gaming this month if anyone is curious

Diablo 2: Resurrected
Into the Pit
Vanquish

Mass Effect 3

Do I wrap up the trilogy this weekend? Stay tuned.

Maybe some VTOL VR.

And I fired up Forbidden West to try out the VRR and new balanced performance mode on my setup. Seeing that it works, I'm certainly not sticking around to knock off more side quests and inch toward that platinum, not at all...

Playing through the Kingdom Rush series again.

I do this every few months and it totally sidetracks me from playing much of anything else. Going through Kingdom Rush: Frontiers right now, which is my least favorite. I like the level layouts and all the characters, but after a few levels they make it unfair where some of the waves are overwhelming in the sheer number of monsters sent at you. There's just no way to combat them early on without purchasing the in-game store powers - or lowering the difficult, which I refuse!

To be fair in the PC version you earn the in-game store currency as you play - win or lose. For mobile I imagine it was a pay-to-win scenario.

But yeah. That's probably all I'm going to be playing for the next week.

It's meant to be very warm by UK standards this weekend, but I should be able to fit in some more alterations to the myths of Camelot in King Arthur : Knight's Tale. Any other time will see my continuing quest to own every decent sub-capital ship in Eve Online impact on my (in-game) wallet and time...my home station has a total of 72 ships currently docked in my hanger.

Raft which I picked up during the Summer Steam Sale.

I wasn't planning to play it, but watching my roommate play Ratchet & Clank (PS4) for the past few weeks made me want to try it, and I started yesterday. I also played some more Persona 3 Portable (PSP) this morning, and I think this is the farthest I ever made it into the game. We'll see if it can hold my interest until the end this time.

Xenogears or perhaps even FFXI?

As for me TF2. You can't stop me.
