Name that GAME Thread

That's Dragon's Crown, or perhaps Dragon's Crown Pro.

Either answer is good enough for me. You're up.

I'm having trouble coming up with something good, so free play!

Here's one from my past...

That looks like a guy swimming with the jellyfish, soooo... Jellyfish Simulator?

since it's so old, probably one word. Diver?

Nope. This may give it away, but it was the 3rd in a series of games.

Submarine Simulator 3

In the screenshot you're watching the aftermath of your torpedo hit via the periscope.

One more hint before I pass the baton. This was part of a (failed) 4-game ATARI contest. Or, that was the plan, at least,

The game was SwordQuest: WaterWorld, which was game 3 of the Swordquest series. I had dreams of winning the contest back then.

Atari Compendium page.

If you aren't familiar with the game/series, give the links a read.

Free play!

Wow. I thought I was pretty familiar with 2600 games, and that looks like it would be right up my alley, but I've never even heard of that series.

I will always take a free play with a probably too easy game...

Loved that game. What was it called? Bagel Precinct? Danish Territory? Cruller Region?

Close. Since you know it (and will type it soon), you're up Merphle

Oh that's right, it's Donut County.

Let's continue the free play train!

Half-Life 3: Cleanup Crew?

Viscera Cleanup Simulator?

I am familiar with the Swordquest games, but I've only ever played FireWorld. Though to be honest I probably spent more time reading the included comic than playing the actual games.

It's Viscera Cleanup Detail but I'll take it!

That looks like the new TMNT that I've been playing all last week.

I was confused by that screenshot and I think it's an image from when the game was in development because the health bars look very different in the final game.

Yep! You're both right! More people should play this game.

SwordQuest! That was it!

I first heard about SwordQuest from an Atlas Obscura article a few years ago, and recognized it from your hint, but couldn't remember the name!

It's quite good. Need to do some co-op on Switch!

Here's one I spent many hours on when I was a kid. If you know you know.

First thought was some TRON disc game, but the Atari screenshots look like garbage compared to your image.

Edit: nevermind - that's the Intellivision version of TRON Deadly Discs, isn't it?

Yes INTV! Superior to Atari in almost every way, but the crash killed it too.

Was still playing this in 87 or 88, when my parents would not buy a NES, and we hadn't got a home computer yet. Broke 1 million score many times, which was basically end game.

Somewhere at my parent's house there's an old instruction manual with a "high scores" page at the end that I need to track down.

Your turn

I get the impression you would recommend it to someone who has never tried it - like me.

Next, an Epic freebie I hope to play soon.

The styling and red, white, and blue colors make me think Bioshock Infinite.
