I gave Shadowrun a try once and on the first tutorial encounter, the game warped in a group of enemies after my turn ended on my flank and gave them a turn. I alt+F4'ed out and uninstalled. I will not tolerate such unfair and terrible design in a game and that happens in the tutorial, there's no hope it will get better.

This is kind of how I feel as well. I have owned it on PC/Mac for years (think I got it through a Humble Bundle thing) and I am a big fan of the IP (I didn't play D&D I played Shadowrun [and a little of one of the GURPS based games, forget which one] as a teen), but I just can't get into this style of game anymore. I installed it but no idea if I will ever get around to it (Breath of the Wild is taking up all my gaming times lately, got to find those Shrines).

I might fire up Far Cry 5 for a bit; my guess is it'd be fun for a while before Ubisoft Collectable Fatigue sets in.

I think I have Ubisoft Game Fatigue still after Assassin's Creed: Valhalla from like 2 years ago

I'm the same on Shadow Run and Balders Gate and similar cRPGs. I just can't anymore.

I'm mixed on giving Far Cry 5 my time. Maybe if I'm really bored.
I gave Battlefield 2042 another chance and regretted it.

I guess they did just add AC: Origins if I want to wander around a giant map collecting various things; I've resisted getting Valhalla just because I don't want the time suck. Eventually, it'll hit GamePass and I'll cave. I've never been a huge fan of the feel of the gunplay in Far Cry games, so who knows if I'll bother. I'd have to stop playing Deep Rock Galactic long enough to play anything else anyways.

I have been playing way way too much Vampire Survivors on Game Pass PC

I downloaded that to check it out and then ended up buying it on Steam because I kept losing progress on the GP version.

Haven’t lost progress yet but I’ve been tempted to get it on Steam and port my save game so I can play it on Deck

It’s $3. Just buy it.

I’ve been hesitating because if I can play it handheld I’ll end up playing it even more that I do now.

I haven’t seen any indication it’s coming to console eventually. It would do well there I think. My son would definitely play it.

I bought it on Steam a while ago, but put it down after half an hour because it seems like such a perfect Steam Deck game. If only my preorder would come through!

Game Pass version just seemed to have issue keeping my save game in sync between two PCs and I lost progress because of it at least twice. Steam works flawlessly and the Steam version even read my save file from the Game Pass version with no extra work from me.

Any notable coop beat-em-ups on Game Pass? We tried the new Ninja Turtles but its surprisingly bland. Surely something good has been made since Castle Crashers, otherwise I think I can still fire that up.

Is Streets of Rage 4 still on there? I'd check myself but my Xbox Windows app is just giving me a pulsing logo.

Unfortunately, I don't think so. Searching SoR4 just results in a big green "buy now" button.

At least it's 50% off during the current Steam sale. Highly recommended, it's one of the best arcade games I've ever played. Simple to pickup so anyone can jump in and throw down, but with quite a lot of depth. The Mr. X DLC is absurdly good value too.

I enjoyed Turtles, but the entire time I was playing, it was making me want to play SoR4. Turtles is a fantastic party game, SoR4 is a fantastic Beatemup.

Why is my Xbox app loading so dang slow? I guess I need to leave it open if I want to sneak runs of Roboquest in between other things during my day.

Also, Roboquest is a neat little shooter. It's old-school, by which I mean you move fast and your enemies' shots move slow enough that you can dodge them if you're good enough. And it's balanced with the expectation that you will be dodging. It's a nice throwback to the original Doom in that respect, even though the visuals are bright, clean, and colorful.

Oh sweet, Last Call BBS (Zachtronics' final game) is available today. I'll definitely give that a shot.

Can't wait to feel like an absolute moron again!

Love me some Zachtronics.

Oooo, Powerwash simulator. I can see what all this chill hype is about.

I think it’s great. It’s a great podcast game. Also I will play it while watching a basketball or football game on my second monitor

Solasta is showing up on the Game Pass on the XSX but I can't seem to download it. Anyone else have this problem?

Preinstalled As Dusk Falls.

Part of that update talks about Touch Controls added for some games. I went and tried Citizen Sleeper for a minute on my iPad. It seems their idea of touch controls is a virtual controller printed on top of the game rather than direct input (Tap on the Continue button to Continue)

Is there a setting I'm missing or is that it? If that's it, does anyone value that? Seems pointless. I can't imagine actually playing a game this way.

There are various ways that "touch" controls can be implemented on Xcloud, and it's down to the developer. Unfortunately, almost all games use the setup you describe: a controller overlay. The only games I am aware of with direct-input touch controls are Football Manager, Danganronpa and Nonary Games.

I agree it is unsatisfying, which is one of the reasons I don't play Xcloud on my phone.

Fortnite has touch mouse emulation on xCloud. Do other games with mouse support on Xbox also have touch support in xCloud? Pretty sure only a few games on Xbox have mouse support.

Super frustrated that Gamepass PC app cannot reliably install games that I actually own.

Tried resetting the Microsoft Store and Xbox App. Doesn't seem to work.

Tried 2 Gamepass games this morning

Starmancer - It's an early access sort of a colony sim in space where you print colonists and build a base. It looks nice but its pretty rough. Like it lost me on the 2nd tutorial step which basically has you wait 10 real time minutes while your station slowly drains of oxygen. Maybe I did something wrong but its the game's fault not mine I deleted it, its not ready

Moonglow Bay - This is basically Stardew Valley with a focus on fishing and cooking instead of farming. The story seems sad but charming and I like the idea of revitalizing a neglected town. There's trash everywhere to clean up and fish to catch and cook to feed the locals. I've only put in a little time but excited to do more, especially now that I got far enough to try co-op

Turbo Golf Racing is coming to game pass in early August. I’ve tried the demo on PC. It’s a lot like someone decided to add a golf alt mode to Rocket League and simplified the car physics to make it easier to play. Definitely going to try it with my kids.
