Video Game Deals Catch-All

I didn't click the link and was confused. The game is still $2.49 by itself. But it's included in that 2022 free digital goodie pack. Odd.

"Play on Luna." Do you know what that is?

It's free on ubisoft connect, full version.

But the other play on Luna games, I assume is Amazon's version of streaming? PS Now, Stadia, etc.

Google suggests that it's an Amazon cloud-based streaming platform. When I clicked to redeem the offer from the Amazon Gaming page, it just unlocked it in my Ubisoft library, no Luna needed. Looks like the redemption page has changed since then to go to Luna (where you're prompted to link your Ubisoft account), but Luna doesn't seem to be required to play Far Cry 4 - I can install it just fine from the Ubisoft launcher.

Thank you both! I'm old and easily confused.

Maneater is the free Epic game this week.

Maneater gives me a bit of motion sickness, but I appreciate that it's a neat idea for a game.

Sucks that it gives you motion sickness. Maneater is totally ridiculous, but incredibly fun.

I platinumed man-eater on PS5 after it was free on PS+. So fun

Oh, oh, here she comes
Watch out, boy, she'll chew you up
Oh, oh, here she comes
She's a maneater

That's much better if you read it in Chris Parnell's voice.

Shantae and the Pirate's Curse is free on GOG for the next 38 hours.

GOG also has a "lowest price ever" section. And some of those are in fact, their lowest price ever, anywhere, according to isThereAnyDeal.

Space Haven (early access)
Rebel Galaxy Outlaw (matching Epic price last month)
Dragon's Dogma... actually it's 20 cents cheaper at Steam!

Rebel Galaxy, the prior game that was more positively reviewed. Is $2. (I bought this and Outlaw regardless)

Rebel Galaxy Outlaw >>>>> Rebel Galaxy. Buy it you f*cks.

Great games for cheap. I don't regret either of the purchases or anything, but the small team size became really apparent in both games after about 8 hours when I realized I was just doing the same stuff over, and over, and over.

Both are great, but as someone who just dabbles in spacey games, I preferred the original over Outlaw. The simplicity of naval-combat-in-space (and the novelty of the franchise) was more up my alley than the dogfighting in Outlaw.

But yes, please buy both games so we can see more stuff from the developer.

I liked the naval combat style of the original. I’d like more games like this. I’ve avoided Outlaw because I tend to dislike dogfighting in space games. Is this somehow the one dogfighting in space game that is going to change my mind?

No. RGO is fun for a few hours, but as noted by billt721, it gets samey pretty quick. On the other hand, it's about $5 on sale right now, so even if you get a handful of hours enjoyment, that might be worthwhile.

I've actually been having fun with Chorus (via Game Pass), also space dogfighting, but with some unique "magical powers" that change things up a bit. I've been doing a ton of the side quests, which is probably going to burn me out on the game, but for now, it's scratching that itch. And yes, I'm playing it with a controller.

RGO has a track target button that you hold it to basically follow your target and get shots in. It's different than most other dogfighting games, where you fly in circles trying to get a good shot. Really satisfying.

Yeah, the track target button is a great feature. I'd love to see enemies have a defense to it like and EMP blast that causes the tracking to be interrupted for a few seconds. I think that would add some more flavor to the combat. Of course there could also be counters that reduce the interrupt duration too

Daggerfall Unity is now on gog.

Hmmm... Dragon's Dogma for $5.09.
I'm pretty sure I played it on the PS3 when I had the Subscription that loans games. How well does it do on a modern computer? Is the online pawn system still a thing/utterly broken?

Edit: Most recent review on GoG says Pawn system still utterly broken on GoG version of game. Poo.

I played it in steam and had a blast. Not sure what's broken about the pawn system. Guessing it's the sharing part which while nice isn't required. They do take to much though.

I did!

I’ve been tempted to pick up Dragon’s Dogma on PC after playing through it on Switch. I now have a Steam Deck and DD seems like a perfect game for it.

Is anyone familiar with the PC mod and/or cheat scene? My main interest is to cheat, I guess, and basically replicate the progress I made on the Switch version rather than starting over.

Thanks!
Chad

Spiritfarer, tied for all-time low that Steam had it 3 weeks ago.

"Lowest Price Ever" beaten by Steam.

On game pass also. Currently playing it now.

I tried but couldn't get into RG Outlaw at all. I missed the naval combat from the first.

Some might not know this but netflix has games. To access the games you just need the netflix app on your mobile device. You get the games from google app store. I'm not sure if you can keep the games if you cancel your subscriptions.
