A Genie Appears. You Can Get a Sequel to Any Game But...

Kingdom Hearts Tactics

The World Ends with You as a rhythm game

Katamari Damacy cooking game

Animal Crossing as a fast-paced arcade style time management game

YESSSSSS!

Descent 4 as a space sim

How about a Warhammer 40K 2D Platformer, ala Symphony of the Night?
Maybe a Legacy of Kain RPG?

If you can tolerate FPS style adaptations, this might be getting closer. Potentially. Or it could just be a straight up FPS. But if I'm being truly honest, I'd use any excuse to link to this bizarre but kind of awesome trailer.

I desperately hope they release some gameplay footage of that. And I don't mean a teaser claiming in-engine Unreal 4 footage. I mean what it looks like to play the game. Because dear God I've been wanting a game where I shoot Genestealers for years, man.

Secret of Mana as an MMO.

Mass Effect as basically anything at all (shump, metroidvania, rts, adventure game, whatever just give me more Mass Effect).

Starcraft as a Full Spectrum Warrior style squad based RTS.

A Zelda game where you play as Zelda.

Also really digging the Borderlands Kart Racer idea. Thinking about how the various characters could still have their action skills and make use of them during the races.

I'm gonna piggy back on this and say I want a Zelda game where you play in the standard fantasy flavored Light World, and then in a high tech/cyberpunk Dark World. And while I'm pestering the Game Genie for things, I want Bethesda to build the world and Bioware to populate it. The water temple will still be the worst part of the game. In a few years we can ask how the International Edition compares to Darksiders when it goes on Steam Sale.

That trailer looks nice but I have to echo ccesarano about some in game footage. I'm all in for a co-op loot grind!

Ah, but the genie never promised you it would be good, did it? Only that it would be a sequel.

Muahahahahahaha.

A Shin Megami Tensei MMO on console. They could even make it another freaking Persona game if they had to.

How about a Star Trek or Mass Effect Telltale-style adventure game? Oh... the decisions!

Gladiator Manager in the Football Manager engine. But with fewer transfers and friendlies.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D in the XCOM engine.

I was going to say Downton Abbey or House of Cards as a Telltale game, but I wouldn't be surprised if both of those are happening.

Some ideas I've had rolling around in my head.

SimCity 6 as a Euro Truck Simulator game where your hauling business is what generates the city's growth and development.

X-Wing: Admiral - set around the timeline of the original Thrawn trilogy, an MMO in the vein of EVE Online where by default you are a freelancer running small-size crewed ships (YT freighters, commercial cruisers, or mercenary/criminal ships like the Jade Shadow), and can work your way up the chain to running massive ships. You can also work your way up into any of the galaxy's factions, from the New Republic or Empire factions to other organizations like the criminal syndicates or other political groups.

Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance 3 - Assassin's Creed-style action game set in the city of Baldur's Gate and the surrounding countryside (probably as far south as Beregost), using an evolution of the Nemesis system from Shadows of Mordor to handle the various factions (the dukes comprising the Council of Four, the Thieves Guild, the Shadow Thieves, the Merchants' League, a few created for the game in the surrounding countryside, etc).

Total War: Warhammer Fantasy - Same scope and strategic elements as the TW games before, but the battles play out as tactical action battles like the Dynasty Warriors Empires series with a more realistic approach to the physics and fighting like Mount & Blade.

Alternatively, make it based on Warhammer 40K and get the real-time battles to play out with the realistic approach of the ARMA games.

Mortal Kombat: Puzzle Fighting - Gameplay roughly similar to Tetris Attack, but finishing off your opponent with large combos can result in fatalities. Basically a joke game for the excuse of bringing back the gameplay of the best competitive puzzle game ever developed.

Is that CD-i? It looks ugly enough to be.

Yup they made three of them for the CD-i. Nintendo licensed the Zelda IP to Philips as part of ending their deal to make a SNES CD-ROM add-on. Philips hired some hacks to make crappy Zelda games and the rest is history we all wish didn't exist.

I'd play the sh*t out of this.

Holy crap what have I done...

(Time stamp URLs don't seem to work with the embedding; skip to 58 seconds in.)

I am intrigued, but it will take a lot more information to convince me the mode is worth picking it up. It could be superficial and/or go very wrong but it could also be pretty cool.

Crusader: No Remorse sequel.

A friend has been pushing Destiny 2 pretty hard. I really want to like it but I don't see myself being dedicated to the MMO style grind so my vote is for Destiny 3 as a classic-style isometric RPG.

Now do that Kingdom Hearts Tactics game from above!

Also, how can people find these old necro threads? I was looking for 15 minutes for the Dragon Age 4 thread I thought I made and gave up and made a new one.

All I need is for the guys I beat up to say "BARF!" when they fall and I am in. And restaurants that serve Salad Paris.

I have been pimping this idea out for years. Mass Effect: Citadel Stories. Episodic adventure game set on the Citadel before/around the time of ME1. Each chapter you play as a different character. One chapter could be a young Turian C-Sec officer investigating some sort of crime syndicate. Another might involve a Quarian on their Pilgrimage who somehow gets entangled with said syndicate. Another might be a Hanar who works as a fence for the crime syndicate. The main idea I have is for like 4 or 5 different characters to all have their own little stories that weave together into one larger final chapter that brings them all together perhaps having to put their differences aside to work together to survive the Geth/Sovereign attack (or maybe that is season 2). Another main component of the idea is to not features any playable human characters, it is all aliens all the time so you get to see things from their perspectives.

I want a ShadowRun game but its also Saints Row.
