Xbox Game Pass for Console, PC, and Android

Anyone have an opinion of Lootriver yet? Looks interesting. Previews were mixed.

Its ok. The gimmick adds a little bit of puzzle-gameplay, sometimes in the midst of combat. Combat is pretty close to Dark Souls and thats not what I've been looking for so I bounced off.

Memoir Blue is atmospheric and very short. Touching, too.

Do you need uPlay to play Assassin's Creed through Game Pass, like for EA games? I recently tried to play Oddyssey, but the corporate-enforced antivirus on my desktop PC refuses to accept Ubisoft's application as valid. So I just moved on to the Pile, wasn't worth the hassle.

Can't speak to Game Pass, but you certainly do when purchasing and launching it through Epic.

Yes, you do. It's been rebranded to Ubisoft Connect now, not uPlay, and they have allegedly make the process simpler, so you might have more success than when you tried before. I wouldn't hold my breath, though,

Anyone heard any news about XBox Game Pass adding a "family plan"? I know there were rumors floating a few months ago. I'm hoping they announce something in their pseudo-E3 presentation on June 12.

It was Ubisoft Connect I tried to install, my bad. Ey well, plenty of games to play...

So Chorus is available via Game Pass now. It seems to have gotten good reviews and stuff, but I don't think I've heard a single thing about it. Anyone here given it a shot yet?

PC Game Pass subscription seems to be a bit broken. Three months in a row now I've subscribed to the PC-only Game Pass for their special price of $1/mo, and then immediately gone into my Microsoft account subscription page and turned off automatic renewal. I still get to use Game Pass for the month I paid for, and the day after it expires (or whenever later, if I'm not actively playing a GP game) I'm able to resub for $1.

And as an added bonus, Microsoft gave me a $10 credit to my account in the last week or two for some reason (expires in a couple of months), so I just bought this month's PC GP with their credit.

I just resubbed again for $1, and they gave me 2 bonus months. I have no words.

I believe it was mentioned as ok but not great once or twice on the podcast. For the cost of the download might as well try it for ourselves

Yeah, already downloading. Low barrier to entry really makes me willing to try all sorts of different stuff.

To add to the PC Game Pass deals, I did ultimate for 1 month last month, let it lapse and 2 days later came back and they gave me a month of PC for $1 + 2 months free.

I started playing Citizen Sleeper and I'm hooked. Really interesting game and story where it feels like your choices do matter and the RNG is not spoiling the experience.

Chorus: I uninstalled it because of bad checkpointing. I could have lived with that flaw if anything else about the game had been super compelling. But, the whole thing just wasn't really working for me.

It sat somewhere uncomfortably between an arcade style space shooter and an RPG-inflected vehicle sim.

My Gamepass expired today. Kinda thinking I should wait until the press conference to see if anything new is rolled out.

If nothing changes, anyone know if you can still stack a full three years of Xbox Live Gold before doing the $1 Gamepass thing?

Yes, I believe so. There's not a big banner anywhere that says it does, but I know of at least one person that stacked 3 years and converted last month.

Well, I totally forgot that I decided this last night. I was talking to my daughter about continuing our game of It Takes Two (amazing co-op game) and she pointed out that Gamepass expired yesterday. I acted immediately.

The good news for science is that I can confirm that you can stack three years of Gold and then convert it all to Gamepass Ultimate. As some have reported, it wouldn't let me do it for a dollar, possibly because I was a previous subscriber, but it would let me do it for $15. Doing it immediately "wasted" the included month, but I wanted to get back on it and get access to the games again.

Anyway, it still works, just make sure recurring billing is off and you let your subscription expire.

Also...hoping to keep my job after that happens.

So like Conan Exiles, I guess?

TMNT Shredder's Revenge is good. There's enough depth to the combat that I didn't catch it all in the blast-you-with-all-the-options-up-front tutorial animation (which has a menu option to view again) and the combat flows so nicely and allows for stringing together different combos. Animations and all varied and they've got a story and arcade mode. I'm not sure if the levels are different (probably not) or what, but in story mode you unlock some things with each character as you rack up more points and there's a map kinda like Castle Crashers / Scott Pilgrim.

I find it a little weak on up down movement, which has always been an issue with these games, but otherwise pretty good.

You are absolutely right, but as you mentioned it's almost just par for the course. Like when an explosive goes off, even if you are clearly out of plane, if you are overlapping the sprite, you get hit.

I generally did not realize that Sniper Elite 5 is on GamePass (came out May 26) … Guess I know what I’m installing

Shadowrun is a lot of fun for anyone who hasn't played it and is into the IP.

My backlog is getting so swollen that it's actually a relief when a Game Pass update comes out with nothing I'm interested in playing. (Well, Shadowrun is good, but I already have those.)

Also, it's not Game Pass, but Fall Guys came to Xbox today (and Switch) and is free to play now.

I want to want to play Shadowrun, but I don't want to play Shadowrun; I tried back on a tablet when it came out, and it's clear I no longer have the patience for those old-school RPGs I once loved so much. I might fire up Far Cry 5 for a bit; my guess is it'd be fun for a while before Ubisoft Collectable Fatigue sets in.

I never really got to try Far Cry 5 co-op much, but it's very built for that...
