NBA 2021-22 Season Catch-All

It’s pretty incredible the way they’ve built the team. They’ve gotten meaningful contributions from Moody, Kuminga, Looney, Wiggins and many other players no one would have had going to a Finals before this season. Just a class coaching staff and scouting department.

Called it. Give me this one...

Definitely more fun to win at home and then go out and celebrate with TNT guys and the crowd

Yah, that's not cool in any way. The only thing is it looks like a lot of towels and t-shirts. Is there a can thrown? I thought I saw one fly onto the set.

I hate this aspect of modern sports. For more than a decade fans riot if you win or lose.

Them being out in that crowd has sucked anyway. Too much noise, harder to hear what they say, just not as enjoyable as the regular studio or in-stadium set.

Barring injury, I'm not seeing Boston, much less Miami, taking out Golden State.

At this point, if hte Warriors win the chip, my only question is where does that elevate Steph to in the "Best PGs of all-time" discussion and hoooooooooooooooboy does it validate all of Klay's gripes about the NBA 75 (if they hadn't been already).

I don't agree, I think Boston matches up pretty well to the Warriors and as long as the Celtics don't get in their own heads about being in the finals I think it should be a long toss-up series.

On Klay - I don't really see how the Dallas series validates it. Before this game, in the first four he averaged 15 points on 28% from 3... not great. Not saying he doesn't have a case overall, just that this series didn't prove anything for it.

RE: Klay.
He is not close to back to where he was on an average game.
But it is nice to know when he's Klay being Klay, he is 100% lights out Klay.
So he is still definitely someone you don't sleep on.

I think that sums up this team pretty well. You can't sleep on: Steph, Klay, Poole, Wiggins, or now... Looney? Looney won't generate his own offense but he is the repercussions for doubling Steph or Poole or leaving your man to help on those two driving.
You also don't sleep on the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th pass against GSW. I saw that a lot last night. The Mavs had good coverage on passes 1-3 but then Wiggins, Klay or Looney got a layup/dunk on the 4th when the defender looked away and lost a step. Draymond even got in on that action.

The crowd shots of this BOS crowd.

Ye gods.

Jimmy Butler with some MJ sh*t.

Game 7!

Jimmy!

Funny I heard some talking head say he wouldn't score another 46 tonight and they needed help from teammates. But there he is over halfway there at the half

So what is the statute of limitations on taking back points, according to the NBA? I'm sure the Knicks had some travels or whatever against them in the 90's people missed.

Warriors in seven is my hope and prediction.

I wish these Finals games didn't start so late. 9pm is just too late for the 50% of the country that is on east coast time. World Series games start at 7 or 8pm. The Superbowl kicks off at 6:30pm. Stanley Cup finals starts at 8pm. I understand west coast time, but every other major sports league has figured it out and starts earlier.

Nothing beats a guitar solo Star Spangled Banner.

Go Dubs.

I think it has to do with how popular basketball is on the West Coast? 4p World Series games are WAY too early for LA and SF. I know I don't watch those games because I'm still at work/commuting during the first half of the game.

OTOH I don't know anything about 830p Sunday Night Football and couldn't imagine having to wait until 1p for Sunday NFL to start. I can barely make it through a day of football drinking that starts at 10a but at least wraps by 8p.

Agreed %100

Pace feels right for Warriors, even though Celtics up at half.

Boston just stole the initiative.

WTF

Truly stunning.

Well Boston, you had my curiosity, but now you have my attention.

Celtics are such a weird team these playoffs. When they are down I feel they have a good chance to win. When they are up they have a good chance to blow it. Road game = confidence. Home game = WTF.

If they win this thing they will be the strangest NBA champions I’ve ever witnessed.

Stranger than the Lowry-Kwahi Raptors?

Yes, insofar as at least the Raptors had a former Finals MVP driving them. Someone who was awesome in almost every round.

Raptors we’re also a deep consistent team. At no point this season did I have any confidence in the Celtics.

I did around mid-March. They really drubbed a good team and someone pointed out on a podcast that they had an incredible winning percentage since January.

They were 18-21 on January 7 and ended up 51-31. Means they were 33-10 after that day. Extrapolate that over a whole season and you almost have a 70 win team.

I’ve seen it posited that dropping Enes Kanter was they key

Warriors with 14 assists on first 17 FGs. It's a thing of beauty
