Video Game Deals Catch-All

Dead Space 1 and 2 are two of my favorite games from last gen. I'm sure DS2 would hold up very well today if you've somehow never played it.

Both hold up really well. I finished replaying them again recently. DS2 in particular is a bit of a masterpiece in immersion with how they avoid any cuts or loading screens through the entire game.

I’m excited for the DS1 remake. If it was just prettier graphics I wouldn’t be that excited since the originals still look pretty good (on PC) but from what I’ve seen they’ve massively improved the atmosphere. The change in lighting tech itself should pay off a lot.

Edit: if you don't have Prime or DS2 and want it a few of us have keys to give away.

Raw Fury having a sale over the weekend on Steam

I see some gems:
Whispers of a Machine at 80% off, for $3. Attractive and fun point and click adventure
Bad North, 70% off, $4.50. Its like a micro-study of RTS and minimal, effective UI

Anyone tried Norco? Looks interesting
Edit: Actually Norco is on Game Pass, and I tried it, but didnt keep playing it. Nothing wrong with it, story just didnt grab me

Free on Epic this week: Terraforming Mars

Free next week: Jotun: Valhalla Edition (Freepeat) & Prey (Freepeat)

Highly recommend terraforming mars. I've played the actual board game a crazy amount of times when I could still go to the board game group.

The Last of Us Part II is $10 at best buy.

Maybe more of a rant : I do missed Lightning sales, or short timed-discount.

Humblebundle is currently doing that with its Spring sale. Currently CK3., I saw Doom Eternal before. Those events do bring me back to the site.

https://www.humblebundle.com/store/c...

For the current sale, 45% off the base game, more if you have a Choice subscriber.

Resident Evil 2 (PS4) $10.99 via Amazon (Prime Eligible). Free PS5/X Upgrade Coming This Year

Also at best buy

Free on Epic this week: Jotun: Valhalla Edition (Freepeat) & Prey (Freepeat) & Redout: Enhanced Edition

Free next week: MYSTERY GAME

Prey is really good

Redout is an interesting take on an AG racer. Controls are too finicky to be great, but it's certainly interesting

I thought I’d like it more than I did

So there's a sale starting next Thurs? That's usually when they do daily mystery games.

Hopefully another $10 off coupon thing.

Shadows: Awakening is $1 on Fanatical for a Steam key. Well reviewed single player iso RPG that was on my wishlist.

Also space shooter Chorus is at its lowest price yet on Steam, $24.

Looks like a damn fine game for $1. Quite good graphics judging by the screenshots. I think the main thing holding that game back is the title being too generic

I've never been to Fanatical before, but it seems like there are some aggressive deals on there. I see also that Shadows: Awakening is part of one of the "build your own bundle" thingies. So for $6 you can get that plus 9 other games. Sheesh. It's tough to say no to 9 games I'll never open and 1 gamble game for $6.

Yeah Fanatical has been solid the last 4 or 5 years. I've probably bought more Steam games from them than from Steam. They have surpassed GMG as the best Steam deal place I think. Humble can still beat them both from time to time with bundles, but for single games, Fanatical rules.

Even some not Steam stuff. I think I got AC: Odyssey season pass for something ridiculous like $8 when it had never been cheaper than $20 according to isthereanydeal a couple years ago.

EDIT: They sent me a 5% off my next purchase there, good for 30 days, after I spent that dollar on Shadows. Haha

Fanatical has been good to me as well. I’ve recently been buying Oculus Quest stuff on there too.

Part of the May Festival bundle. Any other recommended games on the list? Rebel galaxy?

I love Rebel Galaxy but it was free on PS+ and Epic. Sequel pretty good too.

Maybe for a $1 I’ll give it a try.

Taking a quick glance at their May Madness sale here's some that I've loved -

Rimworld is an excellent colony sim
Outer Worlds is a fun puzzle adventure game
The Ascent is a fun isometric shooter
Vermintide 2 is an excellent co-op first person slasher

Borderlands 3 is free on Epic for a week.

It's their "mega sale" currently, which means 25%-off coupons (no longer $10-off), and a "big" game every Thursday for the duration of the sale.

Anyone else finding the couple isn't working?

The coupon worked fine for me - knocked $5 off my otherwise-$20 purchase of Salt & Sacrifice.

Wartales (still in early access) is 20% off on Steam. I've been eyeing it as a prettier version of Battle Brothers.

I'm looking at a toss up between that and nabbing Old World for similar value in discounting (non-exclusive release giving 10% off plus first DLC free on Steam).

Bah, it doesn't work for DLC, that's why.

Oh boy, me waiting for Borderlands 3 finally paid off.

In other deal news, Stellaris is a free weekend on Steam, and is on sale for $8. Looks like lowest ever was $5 but that's not bad.

For those who hope to buy a Steam Deck, don’t spend your bucks on Epic. Now that I have a Steam Deck I have repurchased several games I bought on Epic. On you go Deck you will never want to go back to Epic for purchases.

Isn't the deck able to run the epic games store? I thought that it could run gamepass games too.
