Jesus H. Christ, I was going into this postseason thinking the Rangers had GOOD goaltending.
When's the last time a team won a playoff series with 0 net power play points?
Asking for the Kings.
Come on, Maple Leafs! I know you can find a way to break my heart (again) in the next 20 minutes.

Unlucky result for the Leafs. Thought they played well tonight.
Double penalty, scoring leader stumbles over his own skates, and an own goal, feels about right.

Well, it took longer than 20 minutes at least...
Well in case anyone missed the news after Wednesday, the Caps managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, squandering a 3-0 lead. It's incredible as when they've been playing good, they've shut down the Panthers pretty solidly, but they have fallen apart after a cheap goal more than once.
Sigh.
Thought the Leafs played well again tonight.
Run it back next year and try to improve on the margins again.
Connor McDavid. Wow.
There truly is nothing better, in sports, than game 7 overtime.

Agreed. No TV timeouts to fit in commercials makes such a big difference in the flow of a period.
I still remember my first experience with a TV timeout at a live game. I was watching the Giants play and suddenly, after a kickoff, everybody just stopped but neither team was charged a timeout.
I was completely befuddled, until I realized from looking at one of the in-stadium screens that it was a TV timeout.
I remember being infuriated, while everyone else mostly was just like "eh."
This probably helps explain how I ended up becoming a soccer fan.

In the CFL they have a dude who runs onto the field twirling a little red flag to indicate the start and end of TV timeouts. I had pretty much the same reaction you did the first time I attended a live game.
Really excited for the Battle of Alberta.

I'm not sure if they still do it but at NHL games there used to be a red light they would turn on at timekeeper for TV timeouts.

At the college hockey arena where most of my in-person spectator attendance has been, someone in the replay booth just flops a towel over the glass until the commercial break is over then pulls it back.
Mike Smith with 2006 Ty Conklin vibes tonight. Just awful goaltending.
It's either the 1980s or the goalies are drunk. or this game is just drunk.
McDavid has been ridiculous too.
Fascinating game between Calgary and Edmonton right now. Neither bullpen have been able to keep the scoring down. Oilers are down, but put a couple men on and hit a home run, they're right back in it.

Really poor red zone offense in this one. You can't keep settling for FGs. But, Calgary's kicker ended up being the difference.
I'm glad I had a nap before the absurdly late start time, because the Battle of Alberta was another fun game.
Connor McDavid is as close a hockey player can get to dominating s game like NBA superstars can. It shouldn't be possible to do what he does.
f*ckin' Tampa Bay dude. Take your President's Trophy-ass on home, Florida.
EDIT: Wow. WOW. The best offense in the league BY FAR takes on Tampa Bay, gets outscored 11-3 and swept. Wow.
The Panthers finished their postseason 1-for-31 on the man advantage.
.................
Andrei Vasilevskiy was spectacular for Tampa Bay in net, giving up only three goals in four games.
In his last seven series-clinching games, Vasilevskiy has made 199 saves on 200 shots and recorded six shutouts.
The Lightning are, probably, the best run organization in North American professional sports. Top to bottom, everything they do is head and shoulders above the competition.
Steven f*cking Stamkos is their 5th most important player! They have the best goalie in the league. The best defencemen in the league. The best coach in the league. Best front office in the league.
That Calgary tying goal
That Calgary tying goal
It's like Mike Smith saw the opener Markstrom gifted and thought he had to top it.
This series has been bonkers.
@domluszczyszynIn hockey, no one man has all that power. It’s the ultimate team game.
Connor McDavid is changing all that in these playoffs, dominating as if he was an NBA superstar.
This series is still drunk.
4 goals in a 71 second span and Calgary has a great chance shortly after that.
I thought we'd get waxed in 5.
However this ends, I am so proud of this Rangers team.
