No soldering involved in my build!

How? What was used instead?

Quick connect terminals and breakout boards.

Full album.

Did you use a guide? Looks like a fun project.

Close. It's a Victrola combo record player/CD player/radio/tape player/bluetooth speaker.

There was no 1 guide I used, as this build didn't match anything I've seen online. Originally I'd planned to do a bartop -- a small arcade form that has controls for 2 players integrated with the monitor. Then I'd build a stand for it so it can also be played as a typical standup arcade.

Then I decided that I wanted something for parties so I wanted it more mobile. The Raspberry Pi has built-in HDMI, so that part was really easy.

The controllers are connected to an Ultimarc iPac2. The Pi is powered by RetroPie.

I went to the Apple store to buy a better remote for my AppleTV... and I walked out with a remote and a pair of 3rd gen AirPods. TBH, I'd been thinking about getting a pair for a while, but was concerned they wouldn't fit in my ears properly. The earbuds that used to come with iPhones never sat right and always fell out at the slightest tilt of my head.

I asked if they had a pair I could try, put them in and banged my head around like an 80s rocker... and they stayed put. But what really sold me was the Spatial Audio. I was pretty skeptical on the whole thing; remember Madonna's "Immaculate Collection" and how Q Sound was going to revolutionize your listening experience? But hot damn does Spacial Audio blow me away. Most tracks I've listened to in Dolby ATMOS sound like I'm sitting immersed in my home theatre and not like I'm just listening to a left channel and a right channel.

They're definitely the most expensive headphones/earbuds I've ever bought, but I have zero regrets

Yeah, but tell me about the Grogu stand!?

It's a Grogu Chia pet! Just without the actual chia seeds at the moment

I wouldn't mind hearing some mid-life crisis ideas. I think I'm at that stage.

I'm approaching this stage and, coincidentally in this thread, am considering a midrange e-bike as my "midlife crisis car"

e-scooter! I have a Minimotor Dualtron Spider Electric

I really wanted to get a Onewheel, but was vetoed by the missus.

Nice! I might also add a scooter like this to my personal EV garage, this would be good for the short trips nearby where I don't have cargo. The e-bike I'm thinking of getting is the RadRunner Plus, primarily for the passenger seat and cargo capability.

Also it just looks cool.

Ok, that's cool.

Who needs anyone but Sisko and Worf?

He'll just get caught in a time loop where he repeatedly watches himself die while in a mind prison for twenty years after losing his daughter. He'll never be on time for his shift.

I'd take Kira over Worf any day, but I get it.

I'm not sure your opinion can be trusted. You took it out of the package.

This is Dax erasure and I'm not here for it.

No, what Rick Berman did to Terry Farrell is Dax erasure.

Feh, I wanna PLAY with it not stare at it.

No one is erasing Dax. I love Dax. Well, most of them. That one guy was a real jerk.

So I've been on an old sim kick of late, and have begun rebuilding my collection after selling it off nearly 20 years ago.

I love having the manuals and such for all these games. So fun to read.

That was such a fun time. Always enjoyed a good manual. That said, I'd bet that every single one of those manuals has been flagged.

I've still got my Battlehawks 1942 (Atari) manual. That was my jam back in the day.
