Pages

OK, listen up. The draft is over. Everyone's 0-0 and feeling good about their chances in 2022. ENJOY IT WHILE IT LASTS!

Here's what's up next for the NFL:

Rookie minicamps: May 6-9 and May 13-16

Schedule release: 8 p.m. May 12

OTAs: Will start on or about May 23-24 and run for 10 days

Hall of Fame Game: Aug 4; this year it's Raiders vs Jags

Training camps: Will start in about a week or so after the HoF Game (except for Raiders and Jags, who start camp sometime in July)

Week 1 of the 2022 season: Opens Sept 8 with a Thursday night game, most likely involving the Rams at home (if tradition holds)

Weeks 2-18: Lots of drama and nonsense, followed by the playoffs

Super Bowl LVII: Feb. 12, 2023 in Glendale, Arizona (aka the Cardinals' home field)

In before the Eagles are below .500.

Ok wanna see the schedule release. Then see y'all in August

I would’ve tried to get tickets for Byron Leftwich’s head coaching debut Legion! But no, you had to keep Baaaaaalke.

Looks like the Ravens tendered Justin Houston in the hopes of keeping him for at least the first half of the season while we try to get Ojabo healthy for the stretch.

I had dug up my Leftwich jersey from the dark recesses of my closet. I was SO depressed when I had to put it back.

Shad Khan must be mad at Shad Khan for putting up with Urban Meyer for as long as he did:

“It was not about wins and losses,” Khan told Bell. “I think when you know someone is not truthful, how can you be around someone, OK? We had Doug Marrone here four years. We had Gus Bradley here four years. I have nothing but the utmost respect and friendship with them. That’s why they got the time, because it wasn’t a matter about respect or truth. It was a matter of wins and losses over four years. This is much bigger than that.”

If only there had been some way to know that the guy who had earned the nickname Urban Liar over the years might possibly be untrustworthy...

How can a man with that spectacular of a mustache be such a terrible owner.

The NFL's international game expansion continues, with the Seahawks and Buccaneers playing the NFL's first ever regular season game in Germany, on November 13 in Munich.

The following week, the Niners and Cardinals will be playing in Mexico City.

Additionally, there will be three games in London, of course including one by London's future franchise, the Jaguars. Jags take on the Broncos, Packers face the Giants, and the Saints play the Vikings.

Who knows if the Seahawks will be any good this year but that's still a pretty decent game to send to Germany. I feel like the NFL has been sending pretty lackluster games to London over the last few years like Jaguars v Jets (sorry Jags fans) so sending Brady, Russell Wilson, and A.A.Ron to play in Europe feels like a boost to the international program.

Don't apologize for the truth. The NFL's lesser teams have been the guinea pigs for the International Series, with a few good teams sprinkled in (usually to go stomp one of those lesser teams). Like, they sent the Eagles the year after their Super Bowl win, to go play against... the Jaguars.

I think I'm most surprised by Cards 49ers as that's a division game.

The rest are pretty shrugable. I'm pretty addicted to watching football on Sundays.... Monday's and even Thursdays. But an early Sunday game usually gets 0 of my attention because of the time difference + mentioned teams typically being boring.

Did Mexico City ever fix their field? Wasn't that why the last game there was cancelled?

Don't want my Niners injured for no reason

I don't believe this at all, especially because Jimmy G has dated enough pr0n stars to know to wrap up.

Deebo Samuel has re-followed the 49ers on social media.

The healing begins.

How the Browns shit the bed over Baker Mayfield according to a source possibly named Baker Mayfield:

Regarding the events that led to the release of receiver Odell Beckham Jr., Trotter reports that OBJ didn’t call or text Mayfield after OBJ’s father posted a video of instances where Mayfield missed or overthrew Beckham, even though the pair “often played video games together” and had vacationed in Montana with other teammates over Labor Day weekend.

Then there’s this. An unnamed starter made the following comment when asked if he’d seen the video posted by Beckham’s father: “Why would I watch the video? I see it every day in practice.”

Trotter also reports that multiple sources close to Mayfield wonder whether the team specifically tried to make him “look as hapless as possible” in the Monday night finale in Pittsburgh, in order to make it easier to move on from Mayfield after the season. The Browns declined to provide a comment to Trotter as to those suspicions.

Mayfield also became upset when he learned via social media on March 15 that the Browns’ brain trust was flying to Houston to meet with Deshaun Watson. Per Trotter, the last straw came for Mayfield the next day, when ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reports that the Browns want “an adult” at quarterback.

Deshuan being an alleged adult was the final straw, not Deshuan being an alleged something else.

To repeat a point I've made before:

Jimmy Garoppolo's teammates speak glowingly of Garoppolo as he (maybe, eventually) heads out the door.

Baker's teammates? Dead silence. (Kinda like Wentz's Indy teammates).

Jimmy G put all his points in Charisma. The man can talk the village into killing the dragon by themselves.

Fired as of today Raiders President Dan Ventrelle claims multiple female employees made complaints about Mark Davis:

Via Mick Akers of the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Ventrelle has made some strong allegations in his own comment on the situation.

“Today, Mark Davis terminated my employment as President of the Las Vegas Raiders,” Ventrelle said. “I have committed almost 18 years of my life to the success of the Raiders as General Counsel and President. I take that responsibility very seriously, which is why multiple written complaints from employees that Mark created a hostile work environment and engaged in other potential misconduct caused me grave concern.

“When Mark was confronted about these issues, he was dismissive and did not demonstrate the warranted level of concern. Given this, I informed the NFL of these issues and of Mark’s unacceptable response.

“Soon thereafter, I was fired in retaliation for raising these concerns. I firmly stand by my decision to elevate these issues to protect the organization and its female employees. I remain committed to doing everything in my power to support the Raiders and the Las Vegas community I now call home. I have retained counsel and will have no further comment at this time.”

Trash organization.

His dad was a trendsetter for many positive reasons. His son is human garbage.

I saw the news alert about Ventrelle being fired unexpectedly. Didn't see this reasoning until later.

When I first saw it, I wondered if it was a fired employee looking for a way to throw some dirt on his way out the door, some Hue Jackson stuff. But seeing as the Raiders don't seem to have any justification of their own for this firing, I'm less inclined to doubt Ventrelle. If Ventrelle were lying about alerting the league office, I'm sure the league office would be quick to shoot that claim down. In the absence of any such denial, I'm going to lean towards there being at least some truth to Ventrelle's version of events.

Those are both obvious yet stellar.

I mean, doesn’t it depend on if he is golden or ok?
