Goojers with job opportunities

The company where I work is hiring again for three different positions.

Perl/Go Software Engineer in GeoIP Build - Whoever ends up in this role will end up working with me directly.

Feel free to DM me here with any questions about the roles or the company in general.

The company I (and a couple other Goodjers) work for is hiring for a position on my team.

Software Developer, working mainly in Elixir, bit of Ruby. If you don't know Elixir, but can code, we'll (I'll) get you up to speed really quickly.

DM me with questions or if you want my name to put as your referral. We're going to be hiring a lot, and as of yesterday, we can officially hire in all 50 states. Job is full-time remote.

It's been a few years, but I used to love messing around with Erlang. Even tried to write some text based games and AI experiments in it!

I should give Elixir a shot after I finish some Dart projects.

Man that's a comprehensive interview process, bonus. I like it.

We're now also hiring an Associate Corporate Counsel

I am licensed to practice law in as many states as Rudy Giuliani!

Preparing for interview #3. Thanks for the heads up, BE!

Hey all, my company is hiring an Unreal Artist and a Senior 3D Artist. Details below. You'd be based in the Portland ME office (remote might be an option). I'm based in that office and it's a great group of people and office.

Unreal Artist

Senior 3D Artist

We're hiring a Jr. Admin position. You'd be working for me in an office based in Blacksburg, VA. Remote isn't an option.

Details:

Feel free to message me directly if you have any questions beyond what's in the listing.

I work closely with a managed IT vendor in Baltimore who needs a new support tech, if anyone's out that way and looking to get into IT.

The AI/ML company I work at (Two Hat Security) is actively hiring developers (primarily Python and TypeScript), data scientists, and devops right now. We are based in BC, Canada but have staff across Canada and USA. We are currently fully remote and have always optionally supported remote work.

If there are any goodjers who work for a company hiring for remote systems admin, networking, or something IT related, let me know. I know there's stuff out there but if I had first hand knowledge from a current employee that it was a good company that would make a big difference.

Thanks!

The company I work for is hiring again:

Product Security Engineer - Remote

Senior Machine Learning Engineer - Remote

Operations Associate

Perl/Go Software Engineer in GeoIP Build - Remote

The Operations Associate role is technically not remote, since some office time ends up required, but it can still be a mostly-remote position if desired.

The remote positions are still more limited then I would like to see, limited to Canada and many but not all US states (which states are listed in descriptions).

If you mention my name for any role outside of the GeoIP Build position, I will get a referral bonus (but of course don't feel compelled to do so; I recently took over management of the GeoIP Build team, so couldn't be eligible for any referral bonuses there).

Hey all,

I'm a software engineer with over 20 years of experience in multiple disciplines. Currently looking for some freelance work (or full-time, given the right opportunity).

My most recent gig involves full-stack software development (including JS, NodeJS, J2EE, Elixir, and various AWS technologies).

Prior to this I have over 10 years experience in developing and architecting video streaming applications for Android, iOS and the web, as well as serving as a tech lead in that area running a fairly large remote team in India.

And prior to that, I was writing low-level ANSI C code for set-top box middleware.

I am very much able to pick up new technologies and adapt quickly, constantly learning.

If you have any leads, please DM me!

Thanks,

Daniel Medeiros

My company is hiring two Customer Success Advocates - entry level Customer Success roles. Full job description here.

If you were looking for a tech job, which sites would you go to these days?

Usajobs if you want stability and decent benefits.

lol.

Stability, yes, because most managers don't want to go through all the steps to fire someone, but that works both ways and you end up with coworkers who absolutely should be fired. In my experience, pay is far below the private sector and benefits aren't that great either, though on that last point I may be biased by having previously worked in a union represented position that had really good benefits.

What kind of tech? My company is hiring all sorts of embedded engineers and many others in the metro are as well.

Thanks for the response. I should have clarified I just took a new job and the internal recruiter was asking. I’d found mine more word of mouth so was looking for other boards.

A friend's company is looking for the following jobs, (mostly) remote.

DM me if you are interested and I will pass on the contact info.

Two jobs at my company: Breakthrough Technologies. Both remote.

QA Engineer: 75-100K
Full Stack Dev: 90-130K

Message me if you're interested.

QA is so undervalued.

I've been helping interview lately (and recruit) lately. Damn kids today aren't as interested in embedded work.

My team at Amazon is hiring. Yeah, that Amazon. We work on the seller experience side of things. We’ve got a bunch of openings for front end and full-stack engineers (DM me for those links), and maybe a PM role or two. The one I’m personally hiring for is a Senior UX designer. Location flexible across the US - true remote/virtual is an option.

Topic tangent: What don't they like about it? Teams I work with tend to have some embedded, some not. In games, the test folks themselves prefer embedded because its close to the game dev work, which many of them are aspiring for, but we feel the need to have both embedded and independent test folks to get the benefits of catching stuff early AND the broader view, especially for release testing.

I assumed he meant embedded software, not organizationally.

All anecdotal, but I work in boring big corporations that make industrial stuff instead of more exciting stuff. Many of the Comp Eng, Comp Sci, and similar want to do data analytics or machine learning or whatever more interesting topic. Low level signal processing or functional safety related embedded development are not on their dream list.

(in my industry) especially when they discover that for every hour they spending working on cool safety-related embedded SW, they have to spend additional hours on testing, documentation, testing, peer reviews, and testing.

Someone recently announced they were leaving my embedded flight SW department to work on SW for accounting. My apologies to any accountants in the audience.

Yeah, I forget that as a now old man, senior engineer with kids and crap, boring but stable works for me. People who are young and full of uncrushed ambition want more.

Hello Everyone!
I am fortunate to be planning a move to the Phoenix area! It is an exciting time here. Does anyone know of InfoSec job openings in the Phoenix area or remote jobs willing to hire from the state of Arizona? I currently work 100% of the time at home, so remote will be great for me. I have 20 years of experience in IT most of which was security related.
