Name a Band / Song We Should Know About

Sigrid music improves my mood

OLP's new album dropped today

I'm not sure how I feel about the new Our Lady Peace album. It did remind me that I used to have a great live version of 4am where the crowd was singing along, but I don't remember where I got it from and I can't find it in Apple Music. Going to have to dig into my backups and see if I can find it (when I started using Apple Music I deleted my old collection because a lot of the mp3s I had were really low quality, but I did back it up first).

Haven't listened to the whole album yet but the singles released up to this point i've liked.

I appreciate this

Leo has been great the last few weeks. I’ve seen Depeche Mode live and they have a majesty that he actually approaches with this cover. Love it.

Oh, and the band with them? OMD. Perfect pairing. May 28, 1988, the Internet tells me.

Something about Leo Moracchioli's voice always turns me off of his music. The instrumental stuff is great but as soon as he starts singing I am done.

I woke up with this Stone Temple Pilots gem in my head.
Such a classic and nothing like Pearl Jam, whom they had been accused of being a clone of. This album was the furthest thing from a Pearl Jam album and was better on the whole than anything Pearl Jam put out. (and it wasn't even STP's best album... that was Purple!)

Perhaps the most incorrect sentence in recorded history.

More of a poem.

Those are names I haven't heard in years. Obiwan.gif

I’ve been watching Arcane on Netflix and the soundtrack is really good. I’m a fan of KDA but almost none of this is like that.

Some examples:

Yea I've listened to the soundtrack for almost a month straight. Lot of good stuff there.

I can’t get enough of the dream pop (neo-psychedelia?) group Still Corners

The main theme of Zelda:BotW is such an absolutely slapping tune.

Also this cat's arrangement and playing are bonkers.

And the hits just keep coming... Can't wait for the full album to drop!

I’m enjoying the new Imagine Dragons song

I finally got around to starting to watch the What We Do In The Shadows TV show and this campy gem came on during the credits of one episode

It slaps!

I'm not sure what got into Men Without Hats for this rendition, but I dig it...

Queludes?

Reminds me of the Pat Boone covers of Ozzy Osbourne songs:

I forgot about that album and now I must find the LP.

Well, sh*t. Taylor Hawkins of Foo Fighters died. The Colour and the Shape is one of the most influential albums of my life. I remember fellow high schoolers a year up from me covering Everlong and I know how hard that drumbeat is to do. Dammit.

Unrelated to that bummer, Destroyer has a new album that is awesome!
