today’s was a little frustrating…
Daily operations of Wordle have been taken over for a sum “in the low seven figures”. The dev will ensure that people’s streaks remain in play, and the game will be part of the NYT’s stable of word games. It will “initially” remain free to play.
I’m happy for the dude and his fiancee (wife now?) but… I hope it does not get permanently paywalled.

I believe the only thing paywalled behind the NYT Games subscription is the crossword.
Why are people expressing letters in terms of W and Bs? Is it a color thing? The letters show up as yellow and green for me.
There's probably a dark reason for that.
Throw back to the old Mastermind game. My copy used black and white pegs.

Hard mode just means not using letters that are confirmed to not be in the word?
I'm pretty sure every clue needs to be used.. so if you know there's a green 'E' in the last spot, every subsequent guess word must have an E in the last spot. If you know there's a yellow R, every subsequent word must use an 'R'. Basically prevents someone from using the same two words as your starting words every time since you must use the information given.
