NFL 2021: The playoffs thread

Yeah, just saw that. Anyone have any thoughts other than the fact he was a terrible HC?

He did a fantastic job as QB coach in Jacksonville in 2020. He helped ensure every QB that took snaps played the worst football of their career, to lock down the Jaguar Jesus draft pick.

I'm not sure if he was even the Packers OC? Pretty sure the Packers didn't have an OC for majority of the McCarthy tenure.

Google/wiki says he was the QB coach.

McAdoo... Perfect fit for Rhule. Darnold is in good hands.

Well, McAdoo had two years in the NFL as OC, and the Giants were . . . pretty good? By raw stats, 10th and 8th in yards, 13th and 6th in points. Not so good as HC.

PFR link.

Is this a good decision? Well, it was made by Matt Rhule, so, uh, "signs point to No."

Exactly.

Related: Rhule said he wanted a rockstar OC. Let's assume McAdoo is indeed a rock star. (Godddammit, stop laughing!)

So which rock star is he?

He has Bono's wraparound shades, the early stages of Daughtry's facial hair and the body of Meat Loaf (#RIP). That sound about right?

He looks like you know exactly where he was on January 6th.

Next big update for Packers is 4pm EST today to actually see if Zadarius and or Mercilus get activated to the 53 roster.

For all the positive trending injury news for the Packers I'm still tentative to actually seeing them on the field come Saturday.

Zadarius + Mercilus are big wildcards for me as they are both better in the run game than Rashan Gary who just overshoots. I don't expect either to start but if they get in the rotation that's a huge boost.

Both activated.

Trey Lance might see alot more game time if Jimmy gets bumped around.

Ravens have fired Wink Martindale.

They were not good. McAdoo was at the forefront of "pass all the time" except his play calling and system was bad.

If you look at the rankings you'll see they got worse every year with volume making up for efficiency. Not to say his team's were awful at efficiency, mind you.

Really, McAdoo is the guy who benched NY Giants TEAM LEGEND Eli Manning for Geno Smith to try and save his job. Didn't work and was fired.

NFL eliminates daily testing for unvaccinated players. Before anyone asks about Qaaron:

Previously, unvaccinated players who tested positive for the virus were given a 90-day test “holiday” before resuming daily testing. Under the previous rules, Aaron Rodgers, an unvaccinated player who tested positive for COVID-19 in November, would have had to resume daily testing two days after the NFC Championship Game if the Packers qualified for the Super Bowl. Now, he won’t.

So no, testing wouldn't have impacted his eligibility for tomorrow.

So, basically they're ensuring that if the Packers make the Super Bowl, QAaron will not miss it due to covid.

Speaking of QAaron: The unfiltered year of Aaron Rodgers

Even if I wasn't a Niners fan, I would be rooting hard for the Niners to smash him and add another panel to the Aaron Rodgers Failure comic.

At this point, I want anyone to win other than QAaron or the Rams' rent-a-players. Even if it means I have to endure another Brady championship, Mahomes bringing up bad Super Bowl memories, or god forbid, the Titans.

I hope Green Bay wins nothing until Jordan Love takes over, and then Love wins two championships and knocks Rodgers off the Packers QB pedestal.

That lede is horsesh!t. QAaron is smarter than the average bear. He might not have read that dumb book (he has) but he knows exactly what kind of anti-virtue he's trying to signal by pointing it out. And then after he trolls folks, he complains that people are mad about it.

What a tool.

Sorry, jowner. Your team is a ton of fun to watch but your QB is an ass.

PS: This line is lovely: "a gift from his friend Dave Portnoy." Nauseating.

He's a complete ass hat. Some people have known for years. Now everyone knows.

Maybe that's the secret TB12 secret sauce. Absorb all that bad karma into SB wins.

My ideal scenario is the Packers win the SB and Rodgers wins all the awards. Still wants to leave and a team like Denver just unloads the house to get him. Gutekunst is then safe from the fans with the hall of picks + Rodgers being an ass. Fast reboot the team.

Maybe even the 49ers would do a package deal. Jimmy + Trey for Rodgers + Love. That would never happen but would be hilarious.

Facebook popped up a picture of me wearing my Jerry Rice jersey for a 49ers playoff game 10 years ago today. Ugh, OT loss to Giants.

Here's hoping for better luck tonight.

or the Rams' rent-a-players.

I'm listening...

Even if it means I have to endure another Brady championship,

Noooo! Burn the heretic!

Speaking of things that happened 10 years ago today, here's the time some guy named Sterling Moore made two game-saving pass breakups in the AFCG against the Ravens. Oh, and then something else happened, you can watch the video.

That article.

Look at me! Genetic lottery winner who can do modern Coliseum tricks while moonlighting as a performance artiste pointing out tHe rEaL pRoBlEmS in our society. Which are, of course, the entirely new, never-before-seen, problems of being a celebrity, and being wealthy, and having so much cultural capital that the mob, who hang on my every Coliseum trick, have opinions, about my actions!

I am making bold, original observations that surely will echo through history and, hehehe, let's face it, I am so very clever in how I have turned the tables on the mob! Right now I, Qaaron Of Hilarity And Droll Observational Humour, have taken a mirror and turned it upon them and they are cowed, nay turned to stone!, as they gaze into my mirror and see their own Medusa-like gaze reflected back into their eye holes.

This pleases me and my friends, the other wealthy, famous, lucky, selfish Ruling Class of modern society. Shed a tear for us as we fly private jets and consume everything we can while Rome burns.

It is hilarious.

How is *Legion*’s team the most likable team left in the NFC? More importantly, how is the entire AFC more likable than the NFC? (With the possible exception of KC).

Why would anyone dislike KC? We are adorable.

Report: Jaguars had a “conversation” this week with Josh McCown

How long can the AFC South slap fight for "Most Incompetent Franchise In The NFL Last"?

I am just glad my Browns are no longer vying for that title. I'm not saying that they are competent, but they aren't that bad.

I don't know if it's age or that I'm teetering on divesting myself of all intent to follow the NFL, but in addition to just wanting players to have a good working experience (e.g., I'm glad Le'Veon Bell wanted to focus on non-football stuff, no matter how successful it was, rather than be Pittsburgh's pounder until he was completely worn down), I also just want teams to do well. This year, I really enjoyed seeing the AFC North enjoy lots of good play. As a nearly life-long Steelers fan, and former Cincinnatian, it's nice to get a kick out of Burrow & Co., and Cleveland, and the Ravens all doing relatively well.

Hey it's Stele and Rat Boy's team too. Plus legion's team is the Jags, haha.

Cundiff is awful

I can only root for the Niners if Something bad happens to Bosa. Yuck. Honestly the NFC is a complete yuck fest right now. I’m rooting for Andy Reid again.

Billsbillsbillsbillsbills.

And then King Henry.

We here. LFG
