What are you playing this weekend?

Can not settle on a game. Was playing Guardians of the Galaxy, then put a lot of time in to Sword and Fairy 7. Then after telling myself I wasn't going to make use of the $10 Epic Coupon before the sale ended I caved and bought Kena Bridge of Spirits.

This is a wondrously beautiful Zelda-lite style game (pre-Breath of the Wild - so no open world) that I'm just loving the heck out of. There's not a whole lot of meat on it yet as far as gameplay goes. It's a lot of exploring and actiony combat. It's missing the puzzle elements from Zelda which I hope do come in to play at some point. But even if not pretty happy with this game at $20. It's just so gorgeous and the music is fantastic.

I found by accident an in-game photo mode. I love playing with these. I used it a lot in Fallout 76 and Fenix Rising. So have been taking a few in-game shots.

More Warhammer 40K Inquisitor for me. Can't get enough of that damned shotgun. Probably some Lord of the Rings Online too, now that I don't feel stuck anymore, having finally made it to the outskirts of Moria.

This weekend:

Lost Planet: Extreme Condition (PC) - I will play another mission and, unless it improves significantly, I expect to drop it.

The Forgotten City (PC) - Played a bit this week, this looks pretty interesting.

Xenogears (PC I mean PS1) - I started playing this a while ago, and I've been playing a bit here and there. Incredibly flawed, but interesting.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky the 3rd (PC) - Somewhat disappointing so far, but I will definitely finish it eventually.

I've got some co-op gaming planned for this weekend...

Some Warhammer co-op with:
Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2
and
Warhammer 40,000: Gladius - Relics of War

I jumped back into Deep Rock Galactic again recently, so much fun! I'll be playing more of that with a group of friends.

Outer Wilds arrived back on Game Pass this week (hurrah!). I played for about an hour last night, now that I'm filled up with marshmallows, I'm looking forward to blasting off in my rocket!

Mostly Final Fantasy XIV but I want to try getting back into Kingdom Hearts as well. We'll see how it goes.

I've started into Divinity: Original Sin 2, which I'm really enjoying so far.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided for the CRPG Club
Tainted Grail: Conquest and W40K: Battlesector for the live stream

I'm deep into Deus Ex: Mankind Divided with the CRPG Club, and I'll try to finish it this weekend if I can. And if I do? IDK, I've been eyeing Monster Sanctuary which I have on my Switch. I'll probably fire that up. It's a mashup of monster collecting and metroidvania.

Fell Seal Arbiter's Mark. SRPG goodness

After hearing about it on Nextlander's GOTY, and hearing Patrick talking about it on Waypoint Radio, I finally buckled down and bought The Forgotten City. Let's do the time warp again!

Probably polish off Amnesia: Dark Descent for my evening gaming and Fuser for my daytime gaming.

I spent the day disassembling my spaghetti mess of a planetwide factory in dyson sphere program so i need to rebuild that from scratch.
Also deep rock!

Started Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night two nights ago and am really into it. Besides that, perhaps some Stacking and....something else?

Just started with Mass Effect 1 from the Legendary Edition. I seem to be the only person on the planet who has never played any of these games. Don't even know much about them, except that they are sci-fi RPG shooters with strong stories. I've played for about an hour, and I'm looking forward to delving deeper!

A couple of hours into Persona 5 Strikers, I'm impressed by how much it feels like Persona 5. It's very much Persona 5: The Reunion, with action combat, and not at all a Warriors game with a Persona skin.

Also spending more time with Days Gone. Glad I waited until I could play this on PS5 - it runs so much more smoothly, it's noticeably more pleasant to play. Although the characters are all still varying shades of obnoxious.

The first one is more KOTOR with real-time combat but they do get progressively more shootery as the series goes on. To their detriment, IMO, but that's definitely a minority opinion.

You are not the only one — my wife just started Mass Effect 1 a few days ago!

She’s been working her way through BioWare games for a while now, starting with Baldur’s Gate I and II and then proceeding through multiple replays of each of the Dragon Age games.

And when she isn’t using the gaming computer, I’m playing Horizon Zero Dawn. I just got to the point where the map opens up.

I’m with you on that, FWIW.

Going to actually play some games I grabbed from the Steam/Epic sales. Ender Lillies and Fist.

I grabbed it too on Game Pass. I hope to put some time into it this weekend.

I also want to make some progress in Inscryption.

More Ghost of Sushima. Possibly trying out Deep Rock Galactic multiplayer. I tried singleplayer and it was quite frustrating in the end as I ran out of ammo and was a a few lumps of x resource off having enough to call in a resupply. I hope that’s less of a problem in co-op. I’m guessing it will be.

I was really enjoying Stranded Deep but The ‘glitch apocalypse’ seems to have finally caught up with us. Half our stuff has vanished from the raft between patches and Shymlark keeps getting disconnected. We fear our save is irrevocably unstable. It’s a great shame because were close to finishing the game.

And me. We should start a club.

Like last weekend, it a big Mario-fest, only moreso! Still working through New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe, which has reached a more difficult point. Also Super Mario 3D World + Bowsers Fury. Still heavily favouring Bowsers Fury.

However, this week I also cashed in some vouchers for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. It's amazing. Just so good in all the ways Mario Kart should be, possibly more. For some reason, I thought the Zelda & Animal Crossing stuff was paid DLC, but it turns out that was only for the Wii-U. This version has all that silliness included. So good.

Not only have I never played a Mass Effect game, I've never played a Bioware game! Shame on me, I know.

I could not get into it at all and metroidvanias are my favourite genre. It’s the only one I have ever started that I did not finish. Heck, I don’t even know if there is a second boss after the tutorial boss. I have a lot of complicated feelings about Bloodstained as a whole.

I got a refurbished Gameboy Color a week ago and managed to wrap up most of Mario Land 2 (I couldn’t remember it being THIS short having only played it a friend’s house almost 30 years ago). Apart from that, I just started Wario Land 3… I had no idea what to expect, but certainly not this. I haven’t made up my mind yet if this is my jam or not.

Meanwhile, I'm working on Mass Effect 2 after playing 1 last year. My first shot at this series as well.

It sure is! And soon it will be Persona 5: The Road Trip, which is also pretty good.

I'm taking a break from my big meaty RPGs to play some Astro's Playroom (PS5), which is just a delight. It's bright and fun and happy, and controls so well. I was not expecting the DualSense functions to matter as much as they do, but it's just a joy to play with this thing. Plus I could play a whole game based around the "Astro in a marble" part of the PS1 section.

Probably also some Ni no Kuni (PS4) and/or Shin Megami Tensei V (Switch).

Update on Deep Rock Galactic: Multiplayer, even with just two of us was a world of difference from solo. Loads of fun. Three missions in and I think we’ve found a new co-op game.

Yeah I tried it solo too, but it wasn't much chop that way. Almost enough to make me jump into a session with randos, but I chickened out in the end

I love DRG solo and in co-op. That little robot is my bestie.

Bosco is awesome!
